Sundays are the best time to slow down and get ready for the new week. For us students, a great Sunday should be simple  meaningful. Here are some good ways.

Slow down and enjoy yourself

Enjoy a relaxing morning. Don't set the alarm  too early. Wake up naturally and have a  breakfast with eggs, milk and fruit. Take your time — a slow start helps you feel calm all day. Go out and take some exercise. It can help you forget daily worries easily.

Connect with your family

Share  stories with family. Sunday is a great chance to be together. You can help  simple food at home or just talk about your school life. Spending time  loved ones is always a good idea.

Do something to relax

Spend some time on yourself and take part in some interesting  . You can listen to music, draw or  a storybook. This short "me-time" is good for your brain and helps you keep a positive mood.

Clean your study  

A tidy desk helps you study better. Put away your schoolbag, clean your pens and lay out your books for Monday. Small jobs like this make your mind  . It only takes a little time, but it makes a big difference to your school life.

Our earth is full of colourful natural wonders: green rainforests, yellow deserts and blue oceans. They are home to all living things and provide us with important resources.

The Amazon Rainforest is the world's largest rainforest, covered with endless green plants. Known as the "Lungs of the Earth", it produces much oxygen for all life. Many countries protect it, and over 2 million square kilometers are in natural reserves. Local people also plant young trees every year.

The Sahara Desert is a bright yellow land. It is one of the largest and driest deserts on Earth. People here live in harmony with nature. They collect rainwater carefully and use less than 10 liters of water each day. They also plant drought-resistant plants to hold sand.

The Pacific Ocean is the largest and deepest ocean on Earth, shining in bright blue. Oceans together cover more than 70% of the earth's surface. Plastic bags pollute about 80% of ocean areas and harm sea animals. Now people clean millions of tons of rubbish from beaches yearly and use less plastic to protect the blue water.

These colourful natural gifts support our life. Protecting them is protecting ourselves, and we should always live in peace with nature.

Sam loved Father's Day as he always spent it happily with his dad. In the past, they went to the park or watched football games together. On this warm Father's Day morning, Sam woke his dad up happily, and his mum made delicious pancakes for breakfast. They planned to go fishing by the lake or watch a new superhero movie to celebrate.

Suddenly, the phone rang. Dad had to go to work right away, and Sam felt upset and a little sad. But then Dad smiled and asked Sam to go along with him. They drove to a local farm not far from their home. A mother sheep was weak and having trouble giving birth. Dad was a kind animal doctor. He stayed calm, checked the sheep carefully and took good care of her with great patience.

After some time, three lovely little lambs were born. Dad softly cleaned their tiny bodies, rubbed (揉搓) their stomachs to help them stay strong, and fed them warm milk slowly with a bottle. Then he picked up one little lamb and placed it gently in Sam's arms, letting Sam hold it carefully and feed the little lamb all by himself.

Sam had a wonderful and special day. He said it was the best Father's Day he had ever had. He knew his dad was a real superhero. He was brave, kind and always ready to help others.

Peking Opera is one of the forms of Chinese traditional culture. In Peking Opera, each character has their own face painted in a 1 way. People can know who the good guy is and who the bad guy is by 2 the face painting.

Where did this kind of face painting come from? An old story tells us that it was related to Prince Lanling. This prince was one of the four most 3 men in ancient China. Some soldiers in the prince's army 4 that he was weak because of his good-looking face. So, to make himself look 5 , the prince wore a mask with an ugly face painted on it.

Another story about face painting has 6 to do with Li Longji, an emperor in the Tang Dynasty. He loved opera very much. One day, the actor who played the clown (小丑) in Peking Opera fell ill right before a performance, 7 the emperor decided to play this role himself. He covered part of his 8 with a piece of white square jade (玉) so that others wouldn't be able to recognize him. Therefore, the cover on the clown's face became a convention (惯例). Later, the actor who played the clown replaced the jade with white powder.

Labor Is Glorious

It's well known that labor is glorious.As middle school students，we can do some labor activities in everyday life

There is a special jug （罐） on our kitchen table.I put some small pieces of paper and a pen next it.Anyone in my family is free to write down something good that has happened recently.With pieces of paper in it，the jug is "Good Things Jug".

Many good things happen in a year.At the end of the year，we get together to the jug.We take turns （轮流） to read the "Good Things" aloud.Some of the things are ，some are serious，and some just give hope.
