The traditional Chinese year has 24 solar terms(节气).Major Snow is the 21st term. During this time, itmore heavily and the snow remains on the ground. The weather gets much colder, and there are some special customs!

Lamb is alwaysduring Major Snow. It can keep people warm andIn Chongqing, families and like to have lamb soup together. In Nanjing, people cook lamb with sweet potatoes or red dates to make it healthier.

In cities like Nanjing and Hangzhou, people make pork sausages for the Spring Festival. They use fresh pork and them in a cool and windy place. After about a week, the sausages are ready to eat. People boil or fry them before eating.

Warm porridge warms up the body on days. On the first day of Major Snow, many people have red bean porridge. the lunar New Year, people eat "eight-treasure porridge." There is also porridge with wheat, sesame seeds, or walnuts.

From warming foods to festive preparations, these traditions truly represent the warm and joyful of Major Snow. They are perfect examples of how Chinese culture follows the seasons to stay healthy.

Jane Goodall died at the age of 91 on October 1, 2025. She was the world's most famous person for studying apes. The Jane Goodall Institute called her "a tireless advocate for the protection of our natural world."

When Goodall was young, reading and exploring nature were her ideas of fun. In 1957, Goodall visited a farm in Kenya, Africa. There, she met the famous palaeoanthropologist Louis Leakey. He was looking for someone to study great apes, mainly chimpanzees for what they could reveal about early human history. Once he got to know Goodall, he knew she was the perfect person for the job.

Goodall arrived in Tanzania, East Africa, in July 1960, and journeyed to the Gombe Stream Chimpanzee Reserve. She learned early that studying chimpanzees wouldn't be easy. To her, the chimpanzees were complex （复杂的）animals with lives surprisingly similar to ours. She refused to use the numbers to mark chimpanzees and gave each of them a human name. In October of that year, Goodall was observing the chimpanzees she had named David Greybeard and Goliath. She watched as they made tools to pick termites（白蚁） out of a nest. Before that, people thought humans were the only kinds that could use tools.

Goodall founded the Jane Goodall Institute in 1977, to provide environmental education. In the late 1980s, her focus turned to somethingmuch larger. Deforestation（滥伐森林） and climate change were affecting the world's natural habitats（栖息地）. The plants chimpanzees depended on for food were in danger. Goodall left Gombe to help. The fight she began against the loss of habitat continues today.

Through her life, Goodall's work had protected the lives of people and animals around the world. In 1991, she founded Roots & Shoots. It makes young people to join this fight for a better world.

A humanoid（人形机器人） robot named "Xiao An" recently appeared in a classroom at a primary school in Hefei, Anhui Province. This special class showed how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used in real education.

Xiao An is 1.4 meters tall and was developed by a local technology company. During the science lesson, the robot worked together with the teacher to help students explore the topic of sound. The robot acted like a professional（专业的） teacher. It guided students step by step and encouraged them to think more deeply. What made Xiao An special was its ability to understand students' emotions and move naturally when speaking.

When the robot entered the classroom, the children were immediately interested. For example, before class began, Xiao An imitated the sounds of different musical instruments. This made the students curious. They started guessing the names and characters of the instruments, which made them creative. The robot was smart enough to answer students' questions thoughtfully. Instead of just giving simple answers, it helped them learn by encouraging them to find answers themselves.

A manager from the company that created Xiao An said that this is the first humanoid robot in the world used in this way in a classroom. The lesson was its first public test with real teachers and students. In the future, the company plans to add more functions. They are also considering using such robots in other subjects.

Charlie was a poor boy who lived in a small house with his family. He loved chocolate very much, but he could hardly afford it. Near his home, there was a big, mysterious（神秘的） chocolate factory. No one had ever been inside it, and it belonged to Mr. Willy Wonka.

One day, Mr. Wonka had big news: he put five golden tickets in chocolate bars, and the children who found a ticket could visit his factory. Charlie didn't have much money to buy chocolates, but luckily, he got some pocket money and bought one bar and there was a golden ticket inside!

On the tour day, Charlie went into the factory with four other lucky kids. Before the tour, Mr. Willy Wonka reminded them to follow the rules. During the tour, Charlie was shocked by all the amazing things there: a river made of sweet chocolate, a glass lift that could fly between rooms, and many other magical views.However, the other children failed to behave: a greedy girl fell into the chocolate river, a boy who always chewed（咀嚼） gum turned into a huge blueberry, a selfish（自私的）girl was sent down a trash chute(垃圾槽), and a boy who always loved watching TV became very small.

Only Charlie was polite, well-behaved, and kind to Mr. Wonka. Mr. Wonka was very impressed by his good character, so he decided to let Charlie take over the factory. Charlie and his family moved into the factory and lived happily ever after.

This story tells us a simple but powerful lesson: being good and kind always brings you great rewards.
