Five years ago,my father and I had serious fight,but we did nothing to deal with it.We avoided seeing each other unless we  (force)to during festivals or other family parties.But even then,we hardly spoke to each other

Last Tuesday,I told  (I)that I was going to tell my father I loved him.In fact,I had never said it before,but just making that decision made me feel much better.

I was so  (excite)that I could hardly sleep that night.The next morning,I called my dad  (ask)him ifI could come to see him after work.My father was surprised  this was our first phone call since our quarrel.I was afraid he would refuse me.But after a minute of (silent),he said yes.

At 5:30 p.m.,I arrived  my parents'house.I was nervous.But I still rang the doorbell,hoping that Dad could open the door.I was afraid if Mum opened the door,I would give up my plan and tell her my feelings instead.Fortunately,it was Dad who answered the door.

I took one step towards the door  (immediate)and said,"Dad,I just came over to tell you that I love you."

Believe it or not,it was like magic.Before my eyes,my father's face seemed to turn soft, and the wrinkles(皱纹)seemed to disappear.He  (hug)me  and said,"I love you too,my dear son,but I was never able to say those words."

Luke works hard  every  day.He  is  too busy to  spend  time with his  family,so  he  doesn't have a good relationship with his wife and children.

Mary is a good cook, but her children are picky(挑食的)and only eat what thcy like. 

Jack's children often mess up their rooms.He is unhappy about it.

Lisa has trouble communicating with her parents.She thinks they only care about her study and don't understand her at all.

Ben often feels lonely because his parents are busy with their work.

Family is a word that has special meaning to everyone. But because of different personalities,values,likes and dislikes,some unhappy things happen among family members  once in a while.So how can we achieve family happiness?

Learn to say thanks and sorry.We are used to saying thanks and sorry to others,but often fail to do that to our family members.Sometimes we forget. By saying thanks,we can make our family members feel they're important.And saying sorry makes them feel understood.

Communicate with each other often. We can talk about experiences and feelings with family members in the car,at the dinner table or on the way back home.It can let us know we care about each other.

Share housework. Since we live in one house,we are supposed to do our part in keeping it clean and tidy.It's easy to help do chores like making the bed or doing the dishes.In this way,we can understand the sense of responsibility.

 We rush around all day,but nothing is more important than spending time with family members.Either having meals or travelling together is a good choice.Not only will this allow us to enjoy the deep love,but it can also leave us sweet and unforgettable memories.

When I was 13,I knocked over a white vase while cleaning the shelf.It was broken into pieces.This vase was Grandma's favourite.Too scared to tell the truth,I quickly collected the brokcn pieccs and hid them under the rose bushes in the backyard.

In the following days,I didn't dare to look into Grandma's kind eyes.Every time she entered the room,I pretended to be busy studying.Days passed and on my 14th birthday,Grandma handed me a gift which was packed in yellow paper.Inside was the same vase —but it had golden lines running across it like rivers of light."I found the pieces last month,"she said with a smile. "I used special gold glue(胶水)to fix it.See?The cracks (裂缝)don't hide our mistakes. They make the vase stronger and more beautiful."

I placed the vase on my desk.Every morning the golden lines reminded me that mistakes aren't disasters but chances to learn and grow.Grandma's words stayed with me,teaching me an important lesson about life

One day,a few months later,my cousin Paul dropped by.We played games in my room and he knocked over the vase by accident.A small piece chipped off( 掉出来). He felt like crying. "Don't worry,"I said to him."Let's fix it together!"We used Grandma's gold glue to repair the new crack.And then,one more golden line appeared on the vase.The lines were shining,creating a beautiful pattern on the vase.

Perfect things stay the same forever,but repaired ones grow new stories.Our vase isn't just a decoration—it's a map ofour family's courage to face mistakes and grow stronger.

My daughter,15,has learnt martial arts(武术)since the first grade,and has been in honour roll(优等生名单)and gifted classes.However,my 11-year-old son,Tom,for years,would fight with me over everything.For years,he was failing several subjects.We took games away,then TV and finally the smartphone;we tried a reward programme,but nothing worked for long.He would bring a grade up to get all his things back,and then go back to his old ways.

One day,my daughter told me to bring him to her martial arts class,and maybe the discipline (训练)there would help him turn around.At first,he didn't like it because he had to ask for permission to do everything.He even had to respect his sister because she was of a high level.So he wanted to stop.However,my husband told my son,"If I can do this at the age of 40,so can you."And since then,my husband would learn martial arts three or four times a week with them.

My son has learnt so much about a better way of living:respecting others,following the rules,and above all,respecting himself.I'm proud to say both of my kids are now honour roll students,and we couldn't be closer than we are.

There's always an answer to your problem.If you do your research or just ask another person —or even a kid—for help,you'll find it.And when it comes to our kids,the right answer is always worth finding.

One day,Jack's parents told him that his grandpa would retire after working for forty years.

Jack said1 "I'm only seven,so it means Grandpa has worked for really a long time!"

His parents said,"Yes.As Grandpa retires,there will be an empty place in his heart that we don't know how to 2 That's why we are going to have a surprise party for him."
