On April 19,2026, something unbelievable happened in Beijing E-Town. The 2026 Humanoid Robot Half Marathon (hold), together with the human half-marathon. More than 100 robot teams and about 12,000 human runners joined the race, making it one of the world's largest" human-robot co-running"(event).

The course was 21.0975 km long. Robots were divided  two groups: the autonomous navigation group and the remote-controlled group. A robot (call)"Lightning" became the biggest star. It finished the whole race in only 50 minutes and 26 seconds—even (fast) than the human world record!

During the race, some robots (wear) special running shoes to protect their metal feet. Engineers stood by with spare batteries and tools  they knew problems could happen at any time during the race. One robot  was designed by Inter-City Tech Team fell down at the start line, but it quickly got up and kept going.

Events like this are not just about speed. They give scientists  useful way to test how robots move, think, and make decisions in real life. As robot technology develops, we may see humanoid robots working (close) with humans—not just on the track, but in schools, hospitals, and homes.

Look! Here is a black-faced spoonbill（琵鹭）at the Futian Mangrove（红树林）Ecological （生态的）Park," said Wang Han,a 15-year-old student from Shenzhen, Guangdong. 

Some experts said, "Spoonbills can live happily in Shenzhen because mangroves provide them with food and home. Generally, the special plants grow in warm places by the sea."

 So its mangrove area has increased from 22,000 hectares（公顷）in 2001 to 27,000 nectares today, making China one of the few countries in the world with an increase in mangrove areas.

Recently, the world's first international mangrove center has been set up in Shenzhen.  Local government has tried hard to protect mangroves. For example, back in the 1990s when the city was building a road along the coast, instead of just cutting down the mangroves, they decided to move the road 260 meters to the north. 

The protection of mangroves is also good for the people living in Shenzhen. The park hosts fun events like the spoonbill festival and the otter（水獭）festival.  Students can learn about nature through programs like researching on mangroves or designing the park. From 2019 on, over 3,000 students and teachers have taken part in educational activities about wetlands at the park.

What time is it? The answer you give can be different, because you are in different Earth's time zones（时区）. But how could you tell the time if you aren't anywhere on Earth?

Scientists are now thinking of creating a lunar（月球的）time zone. They believe it would be better for astronauts to communicate by using Moon Time, as they travel to, from, and across the Moon. At the moment, astronauts are using time zones of their own countries. But there could be safety problems caused by the differences in time-telling.

____ Gravity（引力）influences how quickly or slowly time passes. Since gravity is weaker on the Moon, clocks run a bit faster there. After 24 hours, a lunar clock would be 56 microseconds ahead of a clock on Earth. Another point to consider is that a full day on Earth is about 24 hours between two sunsets. While on the Moon, it is nearly 709 hours, about 29.5

Earth days. This means that lunar nights can be around two weeks long, with only the Earth and the stars in the sky. With all this to think about, scientists need to decide whether it would be better to follow a time zone on Earth, or for the Moon to have its own special zone, which would have much longer days.

Scientists must consider other problems too. For example, who should be responsible for keeping the time zone going? And how can it be made practical for astronauts to use?

There are more countries planning Moon trips in the future. The idea of creating a time zone on the Moon would make these easier. And if a lunar time zone is set up, scientists could create time zones for other planets like Mars.

A sixty-year-old American, Mr. Linden, wears many hats: a writer, a businessman, a traveller, an educator and the founder of a famous hotel. He has lived in a village in Yunnan Province for nearly 20 years. He now considers that he is one of the"cool new Dali people".

Mr. Linden was born and raised in Chicago. He first visited China in 1984. He received a scholarship（奖学金）from the Chinese Government and came to study in Beijing. During his stay, he was deeply attracted by Chinese culture and would love to be its communicator.

After working and travelling in more than 100 countries, Mr. Linden gave up his job in the US, sold his house and moved to China with his family in 2004. He wanted to find a place and create a new lifestyle. After a tour around China, Mr. Linden and his wife finally decided to live in Xizhou, a small town not far from Dali.

"I'm a fan of China's traditional buildings. Xizhou is a beautiful town with hundreds of old buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Traditions here keep as alive as ever and the local people treat me like family,"said Mr. Linden.

With the help of the Dali government, Mr. Linden repaired a traditional Bai-style（白族风格）house into a hotel for foreign tourists. The hotel provides international education projects for European and American schools. It also opens 50% of its room to the public, creating a place for more people to communicate with the villagers. It offers free English classes to villagers once a week.

When talking about his future plans, Mr. Linden said he wanted to do more to share the beauty of China with the world." Our goal is to turn Xizhou into a window for foreigners to learn about China," said Mr. Linden." I hope that through my efforts, more people will love China."

Is the summer vacation long enough to turn life for the better? Every person has his own talents and interests. Find something you care about, and you will see the difference.

Organize a clean-up program. People often throw litter in the place where there is already litter. This leaves the community in a mess. The environment will become better if someone volunteers to help. You could pick up the rubbish with your friends once a week in your neighborhood. You could also help take care of the plants every few days. Surely, a clean and tidy neighborhood will be worth the work.

Show your love to the old. Our city has some old people's homes. Without children around them, the old people there might feel lonely once in a while. Maybe they need your help. In fact, you can do a lot for them. For example, you can talk with them or play games with them. Listening to them carefully is also a good idea. Some old people can't see clearly and they would like you to read to them. No matter what small things you do, you can make them feel loved.

Set up a reading project with your friends. Share your favorite books with them. Besides, you may read aloud to each other and talk about what you read. Either a book or an article can spark a lively discussion and your further thinking. The process often challenges more people to take action. The project is also a good way to welcome newcomers. At the same time, you may find new friends with similar hobbies.

First, what is happiness? It is a nice warm feeling from happy experiences. Doing sports or dancing can make us feel good, but these feelings will disappear soon when we stop. 

Many people think money brings happiness. But true happiness does not come from money or great success. It comes from small daily things, like a warm talk with friends, a delicious meal or a kind smile from someone new. 

Then why is it hard to stay happy? Many people think great success means happiness. They see it as a difficult goal. In fact, happiness is a good way of thinking. Bad ideas and busy study stop us from finding nice things around us. 

Luckily, we have good ways to get happy. First, keep healthy with enough sleep and daily exercise. Second, develop your favourite hobbies and enjoy the moment. Third, write down your real feelings in notebooks. Fourth, help others and make small plans to become better. All these things bring great happiness. 

If we notice little daily joys and keep positive every day, happiness will naturally stay around us. 

Last Saturday, my class visited the city's history museum, and it turned out to be a journey of exploring the unexplored. Before the  , I thought the museum was just full of boring old things. But  , it was great fun. 

We walked around the museum and saw many  from our city's past. The pictures recorded people's life long ago, together with old tools  letters. The guide told us stories about how people lived, worked, and even played games long ago. I showed interest in an old school desk with a student's name on it. It looked really  from ours today. I also wanted to know about life for kids back then. was it like?

At the museum's small workshop, we even tried making paper like people did hundreds  years ago. It was not easy, but there was so fun! When our trip ended, I got to know our city's history. It was a whole new world for me. 

The museum trip taught me important: history is all around us. Sometimes, it's right in our own city, waiting for us to discover its stories. I forward to learning more about our city's past. I plan to come back soon to learn more. 

The largetooth sawfish（大齿锯鳐）is a special sea animal. It looks quite different. It lives in warm sea areas and rivers that run into the ocean. This fish can grow up to six metres long. Its most special part is its long snout（锯状长吻）, with sharp teeth on both sides. 

This long part helps the fish a lot. When it looks for food, it waves this part quickly to make small fish and other sea animals unable to move easily. In this way, it can get food without difficulty. ____ It works well for both getting food and staying out of danger. 

However, this helpful part also puts the fish in danger. Fishing tools often hold its long front part firmly. Once it is held in this way, it cannot swim freely, find food or breathe well. Many sawfish die when they try to get away from fishing tools. Others become too weak to live in the wild. 

This fish can live for nearly 30 years and is now in great danger. Too much fishing makes their numbers get smaller. There are very few left, so scientists can't know their total number. We must protect their homes and stop overfishing to save them.

Last month, I visited Hangzhou with my parents. We wanted to try the most famous local food, so we went to a nice quiet local1 . There, I had my first taste of real Dongpo pork, and it gave me a wonderful surprise. 

The waiter told us that local cooks make this dish in a 2 way. They have many old cooking rules. I was3 . I didn't know people had so many rules to cook pork. The cooks take care of every cooking 4 . They cook it slowly for hours to make it soft and tasty. Some people want to cook fast to save time.5 , local cooks never do that. 

Dongpo pork has become more popular online these days. More and more 6 visit Hangzhou just for this special food. Everyone wants to taste the 7 and special dish. Even after becoming famous, local cooks never ask for more money. They keep trying to8 their cooking to make the food better. 

This trip taught me a lot. Great cooks always work in good ways. They 9 their old rules and never change them. They always10 people's taste and take their job seriously. I learn that good food comes from hard work and a kind heart. 

The 2022 Beijing Marathon was coming to an end. It was the last minute, but 86-year-old Zhang Shun was still about 100 metres1 the finishing line. People watched him move slowly with tired steps. All of them held 2 breath. Would he make it?

Zhang felt 3 before the race. But he had a stomachache on the way. This made him fall behind greatly. "Shall I take 4 rest or stop?" he thought. Either choice seemed fine for someone at his age. But Zhang chose neither of them. He just ran on bravely. With people cheering loudly, he finally crossed the finishing line successfully! Many 5 warm support helped him finish the race.

Today, we are living a busy life. We always try to finish things quickly. Then we can have more time to do other things. On weekdays, We are busy studying or working. One of the problems is that we don't get enough exercise. 

We all know August 8th is National Fitness Day. If we exercise for one hour a day, we can keep fit. People can become healthy if they often exercise or do sports. Students can study better and feel less nervous because they take more exercise at school. Many young women enjoy doing yoga（瑜伽）or dancing to relax and stay thin. For some housewives（家庭主妇）, doing housework is good way to burn calories（卡路里）. They can keep moving and at the same time get their houses tidy. Some men like jogging, riding bicycles or walking to get strong. Such exercise is relaxing. They are excited when they are doing them. 

You get healthy both in your body and mind by doing exercise. This weekend, don't make any plans and just get up early in the morning to exercise. 

Tom is a middle school student. He loves playing online games in his free time. The game was so exciting that he played it  without a break. Soon a time-eating monster comes him. It starts to eat away his time, minute by minute. He even forgets to  his homework and goes to bed late. Tom becomes lazy and tired. He becomes a couch potato and misses out on moments with his family and friends. 

In fact, time-eating monsters make us spend lots of time on  activities. It is bad for our health and school life. So it's important for students to live a  life. 

To change this situation, we can develop different . We can jog in the morning or on weekends. Play basketball or go for a walk with our friends. There is so much for us to do. The choice is . 

Fun can do away with bad feelings and lift our . However, it's just one part of life. We must have fun in the right way to have a better life. 

Are you dreaming of travelling to space one day? Your dream may soon come true! Scientist say that by 2027, people could stay in a special hotel high above the earth. It will be called the Voyager Space Station, or VSS. 

This space hotel will have comfortable rooms, restaurants, reading areas, and science labs. It will use sunlight for power. Up to 400 people can stay there--including scientists, astronauts（宇航员）， and even some people who might live there for a long time. 

Staying at the VSS will cost 5 million dollars for three days. You will do many things there. You will eat special "space food" made by top cooks. You can also go on spacewalks to see the beautiful earth from above. From the hotel, you can watch the sun rise and set 32 times each day! That will be the beauty you have never experienced before. Isn't that interesting?

The construction will start in 2026, and the first visitors could arrive in 2027. It will be the first hotel in space. Scientists say, "We want everyone to know that space travel for more people is coming soon. It is just around the corner!"
