  • 2、 阅读下面短文,根据短文内容回答问题或翻译画线部分

Football is a very popular sport all over the world, and in China, many people love it too. Most people know about the big national football leagues(足球联赛), but there are also many interesting local leagues. One great example is the Xiang Super League in Hunan Province.

The name "Xiang" comes from the Xiang River, which flows through Hunan, and is often used as a short name for the province. Established(建立,创办) in 2016, the league has grown significantly in size and popularity. What makes the Xiang Super League particularly interesting?

Of course, the players are amateurs(业余爱好者). This means football is not their full-time job. They are common people from different jobs, like students, teachers, and office workers. They play football because they love the game. They practice and play their matches on weekends, balancing their professional responsibilities with their passion for football.

Second, the league helps bring people together. Teams come from different cities in Hunan, such as Changsha, Yongzhou, and Yueyang. When there is a match, local people, including families and friends, come to watch and support their team. This makes the games exciting and helps build a strong feeling of community(社区、团体).

Finally, the Xiang Super League is important for the future of football in China. It helps to find good young players and gives them a place to play and improve. It also encourages children to play sports and be healthy.

In short, the Xiang Super League shows that you don't need to be a professional(职业的) star to enjoy football. It is a game that can connect people in their own communities.

    (1)、What does "Xiang" mean?
(2)、Who are the players in the Xiang Super League?
(3)、How does the league help to build a strong feeling of community?
(4)、Why is the league important for the future of football in China?

Second, learn to say "no" to unimportant things. If a friend  (ask) you to play games when you need to study, politely refuse. Remember, your time and energy are  (value), and focusing on what matters most will bring better results.

Third, take short breaks. Our  (brain) need rest to work well. After 45 minutes of studying, stand up and stretch, or look out of the window for a few minutes. This will make you more energetic when you return to your task.

The Mid-Autumn Festival holds great importance in China.

Falling on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, the Mid-Autumn Festival is when family get together to celebrate autumn harvest (丰收). In Chinese culture, the full moon means reunion.

The Mid-Autumn Festival became an official celebration in

China during the Tang Dynasty. Many believe the festival was first mentioned in The Book of Rite. It was described as a day for emperors (皇帝) to celebrate the year's harvest by giving food and other things to the moon and hosting a great meal.

But how much do you know about the typical ways to celebrate the festival? Here are some.

In traditional Chinese culture, it is believed that the moon on the festival night is the fullest and brightest of the whole year, meaning family reunion. Even if a family member is not at home, he or she will admire the same moon, seeming like they are together.

    ● Worship (祭拜) the moon.

In ancient times,people put mooncakes and other food on a table towards the moon , make wishes and kowtow (扣头) to the moon on the night. Afterwards, the family will share mooncakes.

    ● Drink osmanthus wine (桂花酒).

Drinking osmanthus wine during the Mid-Autumn Festival is a tradition that has been kept alive through the ages. It's an age-old practice in China, especially popular in Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces.

    ● Make and hang festival lanterns.

This is an activity popular in Guangdong Province, loved especially by kids. Today, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a very important family party. As we all know, "Full moon, full feelings."

    C. So all family members try their best to go home on that day.

  • 6、 阅读下列材料,从每题所给的 A 、B 、C 三个选项中选出最佳选项。

Which is more important in your mind, looking fashionable or feeling comfortable? You may find many people choose style over comfort and some even go to extremes (极端) to follow fashion. But we should remember: being fashionable isn't everything. It's more important to be healthy.

Some people believe that they need to be a certain size to look good. So, they start extreme diets (极端节食)that are not good for their health. They might not eat meals or eat too little, which can make them feel sick. Is it a healthy way to live?

Also, many girls wear shoes with very high heels (鞋后跟). They might think high heels make them look taller. But these shoes can actually hurt their feet and make it hard to walk comfortably, and they can increase the risks of falls. Some even wear tight (紧的) clothes that influence blood circulation (循环), making it hard to breathe. Should we put fashion over comfort and physical health?

Besides, some boys and girls spend a lot of time and money changing their hair color. The material they use is usually harmful(有害的) to their health. To make their hair straight or curly, they also use tools that are hot enough to burn their hair. But using these tools too often or at very high temperatures can make the hair dry or even burnt. Is it really worth it to risk our health, spending so much time and money?

So, let's think again what's really important. Is it fashion or is it our well-being? Clothes or hairstyles don't tell us anything about a person's character. Instead of spending a lot of time choosing clothes, we could use that time to do fun things with friends. And instead of following extreme diets, let's eat properly and exercise regularly (有规律地). Remember, the value of you is not decided by your appearance, but by who you are as a person.

(1)、Why do some people go on extreme diets according to the passage?
A、Because the diets are healthy. B、Because they just want to look good. C、Because they want to save time
(2)、What is the writer's purpose of using a question in each paragraph?

(3)、What can we know from the passage?
A、Wearing shoes with high heels can make people have trouble breathing. B、Changing the hair style too often has no influence on people's health. C、Eating in the right way and doing exercise often can make people healthier.

For me, walking around in my own personal bubble is perfect.. What's even better, wearing card phone s seems to give a signal to people which say, "I'm not available for chatting at the moment!"

Suppose you're at work and about to make an incredible breakthrough (极大的突破), but a workmate suddenly turns up. At this moment the slightest disturbance (干扰) would break your concentration.. Once again, those wires hanging from your ears would be sure to give that "Go away!" signal.

  • 19、If you are looking for a creative solution to a piece of work or a school assignment, don't lock yourself up in a quiet room.

A new study shows that moderate background noise is a better motivation to creative thinking than the sound of silence, a well-known magazine reported.

A paper published in the Journal of Consumer Research says that the perfect working environment should buzz (嗡嗡作响)   with a little noise.

Researchers found that test subjects were at their most creative state when background noise was measured a 70 decibels, the level one might find in a busy coffee shop.

A nearly silent environment (50 decibels)   was too quiet. Turning up the volume to 85 decibels   (a jackhammer tearing up the pavement outside your building)   had an opposite effect—the noise became a distraction (分散注意力) .

The researchers asked 65 students at the University of British Columbia, Canada, to perform various creative tasks while noises recorded at a roadside restaurant were played in the background.

In one experiment, scientists asked participants to brainstorm ideas for a new type of mattress (气垫). Test subjects had the most successful discussions when the noise in the background was noticeable but not too loud.

While a quiet environment may make it easier to read a book, the authors of the study say that moderate background noise creates just enough of a distraction to force people to think more imaginatively without breaking their focus so completely that they can't think at all.

Should we all head for Starbucks to get creative? Not necessarily.

Researchers found limited work time surrounded by the low-level noise of a coffeehouse is what really stimulates creativity.

Equally, working in a café environment isn't good for everybody. The productivity boost (提高) was most obvious among those who were naturally creative to begin with.

(1)、What's the main idea of the passage?
A、The less noise, the better state of study. B、Noise is no bad thing at any time. C、Noise in the coffeehouse is enjoyable. D、Moderate noise helps creativity.
(2)、The recommended level of background noise is ________.
    A、50 decibels B、65 decibels C、70 decibels D、85 decibels
(3)、The underline word "stimulate" can be replaced by ________.
    A、copy B、increase C、link D、decrease

  • 20、Still in shock! I moved around the house purposelessly trying to decide what to put into the suitcases. Earlier that evening, I'd received a call telling me that my brother was killed in a car crash. "Come as soon as you can." cried my mother.

I wanted to hurry to her at once. But my husband, Larry, and I were packing to move from New York to Seattle. Our house was in total mess. Supper dishes sat on the kitchen table. Toys lay everywhere. I purposelessly picked things up and put them down. Mother's crying went through my head again and again.

Larry called some friends to tell them what had happened. Someone asked to speak to me. "If there's anything I can do, let me know." But I didn't know what to ask for.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. It was Emerson. He and his wife Donna lived in the block nearby.

"I've come to clean your shoes," he said.

    I asked him to repeat.

"Donna had to stay with the baby," he said, "but we want to help you. I remember when my father died, it took me hours to clean our shoes for the funeral. Give me all your shoes."

I gathered all our dirty shoes to the kitchen. Emerson got to work right away. Watching him devoting himself to one task helped me pull my own thoughts into order. I told myself to wash clothes first. Then, Larry and I bathed the children and put them to bed. One job after another.

When we returned to wash the dishes, Emerson had left. All our shoes stood in a line against the wall, clean, shining. I couldn't help crying. Early the next morning, we left for the airport with all the jobs done.

Now whenever I hear of a friend who's lost a loved one, I no longer call with the polite offer, "If there's anything I can do..." Instead, I try to think of one specific task that suits that man's need, like taking the dog to the boarding kennel (狗屋;养狗场) or house-sitting during the funeral (葬礼). If the person asks, "How did you know I needed that one?" I reply, "Because a man once cleaned my shoes."
