"Mom, I want a cat. " or "Mom, I want adog. " or "Mom, I want a. . . " are common words that parents may hear from their children more than once. However, there are many arguments for and against children owning pets. 

 The first argument that supports pet ownership by children is that they are good company. When children come home from school. pets are always there to greet them. They love children and always love to play. As a result, children won't be lonely. They will also help to keep children active as they will need to be walked and played with every day. 

 ▲  Pets need to be looked after and be taken care of every day. Children will learn different skills that they can use later in life. For example, washing and feeding pets are important skills to learn. Learning these responsibilities will make sure that children will be able to look after themselves, and possibly their children one day. 

On the other hand, some pets can be dangerous. Some dogs, for example, may hurt others, and children may become afraid of animals as a result of this happening to them. Cats also look very soft, but they do have very sharp claws. If they are treated in the wrong way, cats can use their claws to scratch. 

Besides, pets require a great deal of care. Many pets need showers, exercise and so on. As a result of this, children may neglect their studies because they are too busy worrying about their pet and its health. 

A further argument against pet ownership is that pets are costly; buying food and caring for them are expensive. Finally, the cost of owning one falls on parents, and as a result, children don't fully understand the responsibility of having one. 

In short, there are many arguments for and against pet ownership. Pets help to keep children company, fit, and also help them to learn new responsibilities. However, pets can be dangerous, they require a lot of care, and they cost a lot of money to be taken care of properly. 

 If you had to describe yourself to someone else, what would you say? It canbe difficult to see yourself from the outside, but being aware of who you are can help you understand feelings and strengthen friendships. 

Self-awareness means knowing your thoughts, feelings and behavior, and understanding how you fit into the world. If you are self-aware, you may know that you love playing basketball because you are good at it, and music makes you happy, or that you prefer watching TV on your own because it helps you relax. 

Knowing what you like and dislike, what you are good at and what you find difficult allows you to make better decisions about friendships, schoolwork and even which films to watch. You learn to trust your own feelings more, which builds confidence. The World HealthOrganization says self-awareness is one of the ten important life skills that help young people lead happier and healthier lives. Being self-aware doesn't mean only thinking of yourself. By understanding your own feelings, you have more understanding for other people, too. 

A good way to learn about anything is to ask questions. Ask yourself questions that start with" What" instead of" Why". So if you don't understand why you keep arguing with a friend, ask yourself what you disagree on instead of why you are arguing. If you are wondering whether you' ll like a book, ask yourself what were the last three books you loved and what you liked about them. Looking for patterns in your own likes and dislikes is a good way to learn more about yourself. 

Learning to be more self-aware is a skill, which means you learn it as you grow. So try out new things, like playing a new sport or listening to different music. Don't be afraid to dislike something— discovering what you find difficult and challenging is a key part of learning more about yourself.

The city of Ordos in North China's InnerMongolia autonomous region has started aremarkable project to address desertification and meet its energy demands. It intends to combine photovoltaic(PV) or solar power generation with sand control in the Kubuqi Desert and the Mu UsSandy Land. This will create the"Solar GreatWall"—a large array of solar power panels. 

The"Solar Great Wall" stretches from Juungar Banner in the east to Hanggin Banner in the west, passing through Dalad Banner. It's about 400 kilometers long and 5 kilometers wide, aiming to install 100 gigawatt s of solar power capacity. 

This project will make 3 million mu of sandy land useful through solar power and 9 million mu through ecological restoration. It also includes five major energy bases, such as the DaladPV Power Generation Leading Base, the largest single-site solar power park in the country. 

The project uses an innovative method of growing crops below the solar panels while generating electricity above. The Ordos Central-Northern New Energy Base in the KubuqiDesert is another important part of the project, with the first phase completed in 2023 and the second phase scheduled for 2024. 

To support this, Ordos is developing power transmission cables and new energy infrastructure, enhancing the local power grid. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, it plans to build and expand substations. 

The city is also paying attention to making new energy and equipment manufacturing development and sales happen at the same time. The solar power equipment manufacturing industry has made big progress, and high-energy-consuming industries are likely to use a lot of electricity by 2025. 

Ordos is building new platforms for solar panel-based sand control and a national area for showing sustainable development. By 2030, the project is expected to provide 50, 000 jobs, increase per capita income, and boost the ecological industry's output value.
