As we know, people often ride shared bikes(共享单车) for short trips. But four students rode shared bikes from Beijing to Tianjin on April 4, 2024. Many people felt surprised at it. They couldn't believe(相信) it. The cycling trip was 125 kilometers,

And the four students rode for 10 hours and 28 minutes.

The four students are from Malaysia. They are now studying in Beijing. Their names are Li Sijing, Peng Yongzhi, Chen Yuhang and Qiu Yuxiang. They are roommates, and three of them are about to graduate(毕 业 ) from the school. They wanted to do something special to remember their school life, so they started the trip.

Li Sijing started cycling to keep healthy at first. After losing 60 kg, he fell in love with this sport. Later, he asked his roommates to join in cycling activities together. The trip to Tianjin was one of the activities.

Tianjin is a city with a long history and rich culture(丰富的文化). A trip of over 100 kilometers is also good for cycling. Cycling is wonderful. It lets the four students enjoy the beauty(美景) of China.

The four students rode shared bikes to Tianjin because there was the name of their school on the bikes. They wanted to do something special with the bikes and took photos. After getting to Tianjin, they were so tired, so they took the high-speed train back to Beijing.

Tom got up at 6:30 today. He couldn't wait to go on the hiking trip with his best friend, Jack. He had a quick breakfast and met Jack in his home. They talked about the plan.

"I looked at a map and found a road for you! I know you are looking forward to it! There are many interesting things you like along the road. And best of all, a surprise(惊喜) will wait for you at the end of it," said Tom.

"What kind of surprise?" asked Jack.

"It won't be a surprise if I tell you... " said Tom.

They started the trip. It was sunny. When they walked along the road, they saw some birds flying around in the sky. Then they found a large area(区域) of grass.

Suddenly, they saw two rabbits running on the grass. As they walked on, Jack cried out, "Look, monkeys are climbing the trees!"

"No, they are squirrels(松鼠)!" Tom said.

"I never saw a squirrel before!" Jack said.

"Let me take a photo of them for you!" Tom took out a camera to take photos before they ran away.

Then, they went on hiking. They talked about the cows they saw on the grass before seeing the rabbits. Then, they came to an open area with some small pools.

Jack's eyes grew wide. "What are these?" he asked.

"Hot springs (温泉)... " answered Tom.

"If we have our swimsuits(泳衣), we can enjoy a bath here," Jack said, feeling a little unhappy.

"Look, I bring two. Here you are," Tom said.

"It's wonderful, Tom! What a surprise!" said Jack.

In the southeast of the Tengger Desert in the city of Zhongwei, Ningxia sits a new desert library. The 24-hour library welcomes book lovers and visitors(游客) with its beauty and culture.

Zhongwei was an important place in China in history. To make more people know its culture, people in the city of Zhongwei did a lot for many years. The library is part of the desert culture of Zhongwei.

As Ningxia's first library built in the desert, the new library has three floors and can keep 40,000 books. It opened in June and many visitors came to visit it. Some people like it for its special shape(形状). "The library is great," Jin Weiqi, a visitor to the library said. When you see it from the sky, the brown building looks like a boat on the beach.

Others love the special reading experience there. Yang Fang is one of them. The middle school teacher brought her 8-year-old daughter to the library. With stars at night, they can enjoy reading when listening to the sounds of the wind in the desert.

"Lost Treasure Box(丢失的宝盒)", the name of the library, shows as part of Zhongwei's history and culture. "The library has a lot of stories to tell," said Liu Huiling, a worker of the library. Many important historical events(历 史 事 件 ) happened there in the history of China. So visiting the library is a good way to learn about its history and culture.

Most of us like to know where we are and where we're going. It doesn't feel good to be lost. But that's not always the case.

When I was about twelve, we were on holiday in Venice. My father was a photographer(摄影师) and he said that he was going to get up the next morning at 5 o' clock to take photos. Mom didn't want to go, but I said I'd go with him, only because he said I could have a big bowl of ice cream if I did.

So at 5 a. m. , we left the hotel and started walking. There was no one in the streets. As the sun began to come up, my father started taking photos and I just looked around. Every time he walked off, I followed him, down small streets and over little bridges.

After about an hour and a half, I found we lost our way and felt a little scared(害怕的), but my father just laughed(笑). "We're lost!" he said. I told him to get out his map or phone. He looked at me. "Map? Phone? I only brought the camera. Come on, let's get more lost," he laughed again.

His laughter relaxed(让……放松) me and made me feel safe. We started to walk again. People started to walk on the streets—shops began to open, and as the sun came up, the streets started to fill(充满) with light.

Finally, after about four hours of walking around, we were back. Mom asked, "Where did you go?" I laughed and said, "We got lost. "

These days we have so many things to stop us from getting lost—maps, GPS, apps on our phones and so on. But my father showed me that being lost can sometimes be something to enjoy.

My family often go to Greenwood Wetland for picnic. It's always an (forget) trip. We go car every year. Greenwood Wetland is sea of flowers. There are about 300 different kinds of flowers. In spring and summer, the flowers grow(good), and the wetland is beautiful. And there is a river, so we go boating on the river a lot. On sunny days, it's warm and nice. We take the boat and have a good time (enjoy) the beautiful flowers. The water is clean and we can see a lot of fish in it. And there are lots of water birds (sing) songs. When we come to the river, we try our best (keep) quiet, only hoping to enjoy the time with the birds for long.

But sometimes we see some bad things. Some children use the slingshots(弹弓) to shoot the birds. They have a good laugh(大笑) when the birds fall off the trees.

When my parents see this, they often row the boat fast to the children. Then my parents tell (they) they can't hurt (伤害) the birds. Those birds are of great (important) to the nature. If we're not friendly to the birds, one day there will be no birds around us.

We love Greenwood Wetland so much, we want to come back every year. But we need to protect it.
