2、 阅读下面短文,根据其内容填空和回答问题。(63至66题每题答案不超过3个单词,67题须用完整句子回答。)
We need fresh water to survive. But most of Earth's water is undrinkable. It's in our ocean. It's saltwater. Only a small amount of the planet's water is fresh. And most of that is undrinkable. Some is polluted. Some is in ice caps. And some is kept in the air.
"We simply cannot use more water than we have," Rick Hogeboom says," In many places, people are using much more water than is available." But there is good news. We can help protect the water supply. One way is to pay close attention to our water footprint.
What's water footprint? It's a measure of how much water people use. It counts both direct and indirect use. Direct water is water that comes out of your tap. You might use it to wash your hands or do dishes. You might drink it. But tap-water use is just a part of your water footprint.
We use most water indirectly. We use it to produce goods and services.
What makes up the biggest part of your water footprint? "Food," Hogeboom says. In the United
States, clothes shopping can also make up a large part of your water footprint. A single pair of jeans takes almost 2,0o0 gallons to produce.
We must think carefully about our water footprint. That way, we can make sure all people have access to fresh water.

Which is more important to our lives, the Internet or the washing machine? Many of us might answer, "The Internet!" The Internet helps us gather information. It allows us to see our friends in real time.
However, Ha-Joon Chang, a professor at Cambridge University, doesn't agree. He believes the washing machine has changed the world more than the Internet. That sounds strange, but Chang is not alone. Many experts have called the washing machine the greatest invention of the 2o century. Why?
Let's be honest: How many of us love to do the laundry? It seems the cycle of the washing, drying and ironing never ends. It's so tiring and boring!
However, before the washing machine was invented, women had to spend lots of time washing clothes. Many of them suffered from back pain.
The washing machine freed women from the laundry. Many women found they had enough time to enter the labor market. As a result, the social status(社会地位)of women began to change. Today, most women can make an independent living. They don't have to rely on men any longer.
To better understand the influence of washing machines, we can look at societies without them. In many African countries, doing the laundry takes women six hours a day. Women there hardly have time to work or start a business. It is hard for them to find a way out of poverty(贫困). Perhaps things will be a lot different if they have washing machines.
We often take the washing machine for granted. But these machines do play an important role in our lives. They have greatly changed the world.

C. Write in phrases instead of complete sentences.
D. The right attitude can help you learn more effectively.
E. There are some tips you can use to improve your learning ability.
F. A detailed study plan can help you learn more quickly and efficiently.
If you've got a lot of information coming at you fast, or you need to pick up a new skill in a short amount of time, no worries.
Take notes by hand.
Research shows it can help you learn more effectively. Make sure you bring a pen (or pencil) and plenty of paper whenever you're studying. so you can still pay attention and won't waste time on every little word.
Create a learning schedule.
A regular timetable can help your mind get more information. Follow the schedule you make and focus only on studying or learning during that time period.

Buck had never experienced such freezing cold before. When he first arrived in Alaska, the icy wind made him shake all over. Back in sunny California, the coldest days were just rainy, but here, everything was covered in thick, hard snow that never seemed to melt.
The first night was especially difficult. Buck watched curiously as the other sled dogs (雪橇犬) skillfully dug holes in the snow to make warm beds. He tried to copy them, but his hole kept falling apart. Feeling frozen, he stood outside shaking until François, one of the sled drivers, noticed his problem. "Here, let me show you," François said kindly, showing how to properly shape the snow into a comfortable shelter. After several tries, Buck finally made his first successful snow nest and slept comfortably through the night.
Mealtime brought another challenge. When the men threw frozen fish to the dogs, Buck ate slowly and politely as he always had at his former home. But before he could finish, a bigger dog named Spitz pushed him away and stole his food. That night, Buck went to bed hungry, learning an important lesson. The next day, he started eating quickly and shouting angrily at any dog that came near.
As weeks passed, Buck's body got used to the terrible environment, His once-soft paws grew hard and no longer hurt on the ice. His muscles became stronger from pulling the heavy sled daily. More importantly, his mind changed - he learned to read the other dogs' behaviors and the men's orders. Pingshu, a traditional Chinese storytelling art, has a history dating back to the Qing Dynasty. Performers usually tell stories in teahouses or small theaters, attracting audiences with their vivid voices and gestures.
To master Pingshu, artists need years of training. Most learn by studying under experienced performers. As one famous artist, Yuan Kuocheng, said, Pingshu is "both mental and physical work." Performers must memorize long stories and add their own explanations to make the tales more attractive. They also need to understand the deeper meanings of the stories and share their thoughts with the audience.
During performances, artists stand behind a table. They use tools like a folding fan and a wooden block called Xingmu(醒木). The fan helps act out scenes, such as "drawing a sword(剑)." The Xingmu is knocked on the table to mark the start of the story or to highlight exciting moments.
Modem technology has brought both challenges and opportunities to Pingshu. While young people today prefer online entertainment, technology allows artists to record their performances. These recordings can be shared widely, helping more people discover Pingshu. Digital methods also protect this art for future generations.
More often than not, those who listen to Pingshu stories belong to older generations. While most young people spend hours online, a small number still find value in Pingshu, drawn by its cultural richness and storytelling traditions.
In summary, Pingshu is not just entertainment-it carries Chinese culture and wisdom. Through stories, performers connect the past with the present, offering audiences both fun and life lessons.
(1)、What can we infer from the second paragraph?A、Learning Pingshu requires both time and guidance from experts. B、Memorizing stories is less important than physical gestures. B、It reduces the need for performers to memorize stories. C、It spreads pingshu to more people and protects its future. D、It forces performers to use digital tools during shows.(4)、Which group is most likely to attend Pingshu performances?A、Teenagers who prefer short online videos. B、Adults who enjoy traditional Chinese culture. C、Foreign tourists visiting modern theaters. D、Children learning to play musical instruments.(5)、What is the main purpose of the article?A、To explain the tools and methods used in Pingshu performances. Imagine feeling upset but having no one to talk to. Who would you turn to? Today, many people treat Al chatbots like ChatGPT as friends. I understand why. Unlike humans, chatbots are available 24 hours. They listen patiently and say comforting words. However, this creates a problem.
Philosopher Martin Heidegger believed technology makes us see things only as tools. For example, using a simple tool to search for rocks might make us view a hill as just a "supply place" instead of noticing is natural beauty. Similarly, Al fiends offer a limited view of friendship--focusing only on personal needs like reducing loneliness or entertainment. If we rely on them, we may never discover the true value of human friendship.
Real friendships involve accepting imperfections (缺点). ▲ Human friends might disappoint you, but they choose to stay even when they see your weaknesses. This shows you are valued beyond just being useful. Such relationships add deep meaning to life, which AI cannot provide.
Sadly, not everyone experiences this. As Al friends become common, future generations might lose the chance to build real friendships. Our most important task is to protect human connections. We must teach the next generation--and remind ourselves-that true friendship helps us grow and achieve more together.
Let's celebrate real friendships. They are imperfect, but irreplaceable.

Live streaming (直播) is becoming more and more popular. From playing video games to dancing to K-pop, streamers are making big money simply by1 their daily lives with the world. Some streamers even become world-famous, especially e-sports players like Shroud and Ninja.
I don't really watch a lot of live streams. I'd rather play video games myself than watch someone else play them.2 I understand that some games might watch them to learn playing ways.
Sometimes live streaming is a bit vain (虚荣的). A lot of streamers are just doing it for the 3 . For example, one streamer I used to watch would hang a sign around her neck that asked for tips (小费). When her tips reached a certain amount, she would put a metal bowl on her head and hit it with a wooden spoon. I couldn't stop watching sometimes. I'd never seen anything quite like it before.
Other streams can show us things 4 we wouldn't usually get to see. Since you can start your own live streaming with just a smartphone even people in the countryside can show us their lives. I've seen parts of the countryside that I would 5 normally see. It gives me a look at a lifestyle that I doesn't know well.
