You' re at your new school. You want to join someone at their table, but you' re not sure if they' re friendly. What do you do? One student's solution was to create an app.

Natalie Hampton from California, USA, knows what it feels like to be alone at a new school. She found it difficult to make new friends and had to search for a new table at lunch every day. If she sat alone, she felt lonely. But if she asked to join someone and was refused, she felt embarrassed. 

The app— called Sit With Us— is simple. If a student is having lunch in the afternoon, he or she can create an invitation. Other students can open the app and accept that invitation. They can then use the app to decide when and where to meet.  This is the reason why it works so well: It lowers the risk of being refused, and the embarrassment that goes along with it.

Natalie is happy to see that people are replying to her app actively— especially those who suffer from bullying(欺凌).  She also appeared in many news stories.

Natalie was even asked to speak at a university. In her talk, Natalie wanted people to know that you don't have to do something big to change lives.  Why not try Sit With Us?

It was a hot August afternoon. Watching some children trying to catch butterflies, I of one thing in my own childhood. When I was a boy of 12, something happened to me that I gave up putting any wild animal in a cage forever. Welling the a wood, and every evening some mockingbirds would come in the trees and sing. There isn't a musical instrument that can make a more beautiful sound than the song of the mockingbird  

I decided that I'd catch a young bird and keep it in a cage and in that way would make this little musician  . I finishetheth水和 the photone and put it in a cage. At first, in its fright at being caught,the bird fluttered(扑腾) about the cage, but at last it kept calm in its new home. I felt very happy and looked forward to the beautiful  from my little musician.

I left the cage out, and on the second day my new  mother flew to the cage with food in her mouth. The baby bird ate  that she brought to it. I was pleased to see this. The mother had no knowing better than I how to feed her baby. The following morning when I went to see what the bird was doing, I discovered it on the floor of the cage, dead. I was  surprised at what had happened! I took excellent care of my little bird, or so I thought.

Mr. White, my neighbor, happened to visit my father at the time, me crying over the death of my bird, explained what had happened. "A mother mockingbird, finding her young in a cage, will sometimes bring it poison(有毒的) berries. She thinks it better for her young to die than to live in cages."Since then, I have no longer caught any creature and put it in a cage, because all creatures have a right free. No one is supposed to take it away.

A: I notice you' ve been singing a lot these days.

B: Yeah. I'm preparing for the  next week. Why don't you join our singing club?

A: Oh,I am shy about singing because I'm not good at it.

B: You  be thinking like this. Singing is for everyone, and we can benefit from(得益于) it.

A: Really, how come?

B: Well, one of the biggest benefits of singing is that it makes you feel better. When you' re singing, it's almost impossible to think about other things, including your problems.

A:I see the point. Being   in the present moment allows us to forget about the problems of daily life. I heard that singing can also help build a good relationship with others and loneliness can be  in some way.

B: That's true.  you only sing with nobody around, singing means community and interpersonal connection. What's more, if you sing with others in a chorus, you learn to work towards a  purpose.

A: No wonder you always have so many friends around you.

B: The benefits of singing don' t   there. Singing makes your lungs(肺) stronger and able to hold more air. Besides, trying to keep the lyrics in mind can surely improve your  .

A: From improving lung function to  stress levels, the benefits of singing go far beyond making beautiful sounds. I decide to sing more later. By the way, hope you will win a good prize next week.

If You Meet Yourself from Many Years Ago

I had the strange dream last night.

I was walking down a long road, all alone.

At once, I saw someone walking towards me.

As this person got closer, I realized that it was me.

It was me from many years ago, fresh faced and young.

I was overjoyed.

I had so many things I wanted to say to this younger me.

I wanted to tell him the mistakes and the pain I had gone through,

I wanted to share with him all I had learned over the years of my life.

I wanted to show him how his life would turn out so much differently.

I opened my mouth to say these things but couldn't.

I realized that even if I told him he wouldn't      ▲      me.

He would have to walk the road I had walked.

I let him walk on by and watched as he disappeared.

Then I continued on my own way and woke up.

After a three-year break, the famous vlogger Li Ziqi came back in 2024. This made a lot of people very excited on the Internet.

On Tuesday afternoon, she put out two videos on social media platforms both in China and abroad. In one video, she spent several months carefully fixing her grandmother's wardrobe. She used traditional Chinese lacquerware(漆器) skills to do this. These skills are part of our intangible cultural heritage(非物质文化遗产). In the other video, she changed a woodshed into a really nice cloakroom in the woods.

Since 2015, Li Ziqi has been famous for her short videos. These videos showed countryside life, how to make traditional food, and some cultural things. The peaceful life change and information moments with her grandmother in her videos made a lot of people like her. In February 2021, she set a Guinness World Record. Her YouTube channel was the Chinese-language channel with the most followers. There were 14.1million followers at that time. Even when she wasn't making videos for a while, more and more people started to follow her.

Now, she has an amazing 20.1 million followers on YouTube.

Everybody has something that can bring them good luck. Larry had a toy truck and Roger had a lucky pen. As for Mark, it was a pair of blue 1 . When he took a test in his blue socks, he got a good grade.Once he 2 his brown socks, and he didn't do well in his exam.

Once upon a time, the colors started to argue. All said they were the best in the world.
