To make summer vacations more meaningful, the English corner of our school has given a list of what to do for this summer. 

After two years fighting in the war, Hugh Davis was finally going home. When he was on the train, he thought of his mother's homemade apple pie and his old dog She p  (lie) beside the fire.

Ring! Ring! Ring! It was early in the morning and I knew who was calling as I reached for the telephone. I was a new substitute(替补) teacher trying to make enough money to 1 my family.

Some people are lucky to start their first job they love. But it isn't always like that. It is natural to change your first mind and change your first job. Maybe your first job is not your dream job, but it doesn't mean that the right job for you isn't right around the corner!

Some research shows that people get more happiness out of jobs when they feel they are doing something valuable for others, such as helping the old people in the nursing home and raising money for homeless people. 

If you want to learn more about jobs, it is a good choice to take career tests. For example, you can take a personality test to see if you are fit for a specific work culture. Other career tests can also help you find a job that matches your skills.

Recently, the world's first fully electric plane has flown successfully for almost 15 minutes. On Tuesday, this special plane passed its first flight test. It took off from the Canadian city of Vancouver. The success brings hope that airplanes may one day end their pollution in the air. 

"This shows that business airplanes in the all-electric form can work, "said Roei Ganzarski, chief executive(首席执行官) of the company MagniX. MagniX made the plane's motor(发动机), its most important part. 

"The technology will help airline companies save a lot of money and protect the environment of the sky as well, " Ganzarski told reporters. "This means the start of the electric flight age. "
