In the bright sun every spring, cities like Ruili and Jinghong, where many Dai people live, are full of color, laughter, and splashing (泼洒) water. People here are  the yearly Water-Splashing Festival.

Large groups of people get together . They splash water on each other. It is  that this can bring each other happiness and good luck.

The air is filled  the sound of drums, and traditional music. from home and abroad laugh and dance with local people. They all come together to  the Dai people's New Year.

Yao Zhi, a local young boy in Jinghong city of Xishuangbanna, said the Water-Splashing Festival is the most event for the Dai people. It also gives Xishuangbanna a very good  to show itself to the world every year. It is a key time for people of different ethnic (民族的) groups to share  cultures.

The best part of the Water-Splashing Festival is that it brings people close together. It doesn't matter  you are and where you are from, you will feel united (团结的), have fun and share happiness with each other at the festival.

Jia Yongting is a young girl. She lives in Changsha, Hunan. Recently she once again received a box full of fruit from Laizhou, Shandong. Sun Hongzheng, who is over 80 years old now, sent it to her. What's the story between the young girl and the old man?

As Youth celebrates its 10th birthday, I want to share my story with it.

Liang Sicheng was the son of Liang Qichao, one of the famous thinkers in the early 20th century. But he made a name for himself. He is known as "the father of modern Chinese architecture (建筑)".

Born into a well-educated family, Liang studied architecture in the United State. But he had a strong interest in Chinese architecture. He returned to China in 1928. With his wife Lin Huiyin, he led the study of ancient Chinese architecture by visiting the buildings in person and making careful records. In the 1930s and 1940s, they checked more than 2,700 traditional buildings across the country. They drew paintings of these buildings to help people better learn about them.

His most important discovery was finding the Foguang Temple in Shanxi Province in 1937. This proved that China still had ancient wooden buildings from the Tang Dynasty. During the war against Japan, he kept working in difficult conditions and wrote China's first complete history of architecture. His book A Picture Book of Chinese Architecture is still very important today.

Liang also helped young Chinese people get the chance to learn about architecture. He founded the architecture departments (院系) at Northeast University and Tsinghua University.

Today, Liang is remembered through his books and the architecture departments that he founded. His idea that "old buildings are the heart of a country" still guides how we protect our cultural heritage (遗产).

It's reported that over 3.5 million smishing texts are sent out every day. But the cheats have no power over you unless they can get you to trust them. Some cheats even do research on victims (受骗者) so that they can sound more real.

If you check your message and can't make sure whether it's safe, ask yourself these questions: Was I expecting this message? Is there any way for me to find out who the sender is? Don't join the millions of people who lose big from smishing every year. Stop and think before you click that link.

Maybe Wang got the "eighth-grade syndrome (综合症)". Some experts think eighth-graders usually go through a lot because of the changes in their body and mind. A survey shows that the lack (缺乏) of support from parents is also a reason. Wang's classmate Liu Shijin is an example. "The exams in Grade 8 are difficult, but my parents still don't support me," she said sadly.

As eighth-graders enter the rebellious phase (进入叛逆期), they want to be free and have their own ideas. The survey shows that about 47 percent of eighth-graders try to persuade (说服) their parents when they have different ideas. Wang feels this deeply. "I think I am an adult. I can make decisions by myself," she said. For example, she thinks there is nothing wrong with playing with boys, but her parents don't agree with her. They often argue about this.

To deal with these problems, an expert from Nantong gives useful advice to eighth-graders. "First, calm down and pay more attention to your studies. Second, develop some interests and share them with your parents. Finally, learn about your changes and know yourself well. Then try to accept them," she said.

Jim and I were like brothers. We walked to school together, shared lunch every day, and both dreamed of winning the school's basketball game. That's why I felt so excited when our teacher said we'd be the main players of the team.

First, talk with your parents patiently. When you have different ideas, don't shout or get angry easily.  Tell them how you feel carefully. They will slowly understand you.

Second, put yourself in their shoes.  They stop you from staying out late because they care about your safety. They ask about your schoolwork because they hope you can have a good future.

Third, learn to listen.  Sometimes they just want to give you advice. If you listen quietly, they will feel you respect them.

Fourth, do small things to show your love. Help with housework, share your school life with them, or just say "thank you". 

When you try these ways, misunderstandings between you and your parents will become fewer and fewer.
