Su Shi was a great poet in the Song Dynasty. His life was interesting but not easy. he faced many difficulties, he still tried to achieve his political dreams and help people.

At the start of his work life, Su Shi showed great talent and people thought (high) of him. But when he began to work in politics, he found it not easy (put) ideas into practice. Different groups had different ideas, so it was difficult to reach agreement.

Every morning, he left his house at exactly 11:30 and walked 576 steps to his club. Then he ate lunch. After lunch, Fogg read three newspapers from cover to cover. Then he ate supper. As soon as he arrived home, Fogg asked Passepartout, his butler (男管家), to pack a small bag. Luckily, Passepartout moved very quickly.

In less than ten minutes, they were on their way to the station. And at 8:45 exactly, the train pulled out. Fogg and Passepartout were off on their great adventure.

They were heading for the coast, where they could catch a boat to France. But they were also heading straight for trouble.

A certain kind of ants, for example, can count their steps to stop themselves from getting lost. They can go as far as 110 metres and bring food home. These ants live in the open desert, so they have nothing to guide them along the way. It's like someone walking six kilometres through a dark forest.

Some fish have an unbelievable sense of smell. They can smell even a single drop of their home water in a large sea area. Some sea birds have a similar ability. They are able to make a smell map of their flying area.

Some animals can sense the earth's magnetic field (磁场), while humans can't. This magnetic field guides a certain kind of fish when they swim a long way to a place and then back. How can this kind of fish do that? It is still a mystery. Scientists have no good answers yet.

However, animals with such unusual abilities still have difficulty dealing with environmental changes caused by human activities. For example, many birds depend on stars for direction, but they get lost easily at night when city lights are kept on all night. To solve this problem, we can simply turn off some lights at night. Clearly, one small act of humans may mean a lot to animals.

First, helicopters carrying China's national flag flew over. Behind them were many types of planes, such as early warning planes, fighter jets, bombers and transport planes. Many of these planes are very good, and some were shown to the public for the first time. They flew in perfect order, making people below cheer loudly.

However, things were very different in 1949, when China's founding day took place. There were only 17 planes in the show then. To make the group look bigger, some fighter jets flew around and passed Tiananmen Square twice. Also, there were few types of planes, and none were made in China. This great change did not come easily. It is the result of hard work by many generations of Chinese scientists and workers. They spent a lot of time and effort building better planes.

Now China has more planes than ever, and its plane-making industry is growing fast. We should remember their efforts and keep making our country stronger.

Early in September, I planned to run for the monitor in the class election. I enjoyed speaking in front of many people and was always friendly to others, so I thought it was1 for me to win.
