Whales have special languages for sharing information. Some whales can send out sounds hundreds of kilometers (千米) underwater. Scientists did a study to understand these languages, but it's hard. There are many different kinds of noises in the sea. 

There are two kinds of whales: those with teeth and those with no teeth. People call the whales with no teeth "baleen whales". And some of the whales with teeth can be really big. For example, the blue whale can grow to over 33m long. 

For years, humans have killed too many whales. This makes whales in great danger. Do you know why? Well, most whales live in cold seas. They need a lot of body fat to stay warm. So people kill them for their fat. 

This trip (旅行) helps me understand why we need to save whales. Just as Mum says, "Watching them in nature teaches us more than any book. "

My name is Kate. Now I want to tell you something about my community. 

There is a road in front of our community. There are many big trees on the two sides of the road. I often take a walk on the road in the evening. The birds often sing in the green trees and the air here is fresh. 

In the centre of our community, there is a sports centre. People in our community like to do some sports there. After a day's work, parents often take their children to the sports centre to play. At the corner of the sports centre, there are some ping-pong tables. I like playing ping-pong with my father on weekends. There are also many trees around the sports centre. We always play hide-and-seek (捉迷藏) in the woods (树林). That's very interesting. 

Where are the apartment buildings (住宅楼) in our community? Look! The apartment buildings are on the right or the left of our community. My home is on the right of the community. I live on the thirteenth floor. 

My community is very beautiful. We all feel happy to live here. 

There are some animals in the forest. Tony, a little monkey, is the naughtiest (最调皮的) one, but he is cute too. All the animals in the forest like him very much. Today is his birthday. He wants to have a party to show his thanks to all the animals. 

He gets up early and picks some peaches (桃子) in the morning. He wants to give the peaches to the animals. Who can come this evening?

Look! A cow is coming. "Happy birthday, Tony!" the cow says. "Thanks. One peach is for you, " Tony says happily. After that, a horse, two pigs and an elephant come and get one peach each. The squirrel (松鼠) is the last one to come. There is no peach. Tony is very sorry, but the squirrel says, "It doesn't matter. I like eating nuts. Give me all the peach cores. " All the animals laugh, and they have a good time together. 

Sun Yingsha is one of the best ping-pong players in China. She is young, but she is very famous around the world. 

Sun started to play ping-pong at the age of five. How young!  So she practises for a long time every day. She loves this sport and is never bored. 

When she plays games, she always keeps calm (冷静地).  She just focuses on the game. That's why she can play so well. 

She often plays with her teammates.  They train together and help each other. They are very happy to work as a team. 

Sun Yingsha works hard and brings many prizes (奖) to our country.  We should learn from her. 

There is a kind of sport. It's called Tai Chi(太极). It's different from running and ball games. It's popular with old people in China. They often play it in the park in the morning. 

Tai Chi is a good way to exercise. That's why many young people like to play it. They play it to keep relaxed and healthy, too. Some children in China also learn Tai Chi to help them grow. When they practise it, they need to move their arms, their legs and their necks often. And the movements can make their bodies grow quickly. Tai Chi is also a kind of art. It's like dancing, and many people often do it with soft (轻柔的) music. Because the music can make them relax when they play Tai Chi. 

Now Tai Chi is not only popular in China, but also in other countries. In the UK and USA, many people start to learn to play it. 

Sue is my best friend. She is a tall girl with glasses. Sue is a warm-hearted girl. Everyone likes her because she often gives s to her classmates. She is also a member in an "Environmental Protection" Club. She wants to make the world better, s she takes action to fight against air pollution. 

Sue likes travelling during holidays and she has visited many European countries like F. She always says travelling is very h and she can learn a lot about the world through her travelling experiences. 

Sue is an excellent girl, and I hope we will always r friends. 

Last summer, I spent my vacation with my parents. We went to a holiday resort (度假村) . After we  (stop) the car there, we climbed the mountain  (one) . It was a little cold on the mountain.  (lucky) , we took our clothes with us. It didn't take us a long time  (get) to the top, just half an hour. We had fun on the top of the mountain. After going back to the resort, we felt  (relax) and very happy. We hope we can go there again one day.
