Choosing a career isn't always easy, but there is still some advice to help make up your mind.

Don't let other people decide what you should do.

Sometimes adults may want you to become a doctor or a teacher. Listen to them, but remember it's your life and it's your decision.

Consider what you are good at.

It's true that things like salary (工资) are important, but don't let them lead you down the wrong path (道路). Follow your heart and your personality.  If you don't like work which needs lots of attention to detail, think long and hard before you decide to do something like applying to study engineering at university.

Your first decision isn't forever.

 They start a job, love it straight away and stick at it. But it isn't always like that. So you are allowed to change your mind. Maybe your first job doesn't turn out to be suitable (适合的) for you. Maybe the right job for you is right around the corner！

Generally, people get more satisfaction out of their career if they feel they are doing something valuable for others. It doesn't have to be charity work.  Just don't forget that job satisfaction isn't only about money.

Zhang Wei puts on his safety belt (带子). He will clean the windows of a very tall hotel today. He looks down. The cars on the street look very small. He feels a little nervous, but he knows his job is important.

Safety is the most important thing. Every morning, he checks his ropes and his belt very carefully. He always tells himself, "Be safe. Do not hurry."

His friend, Mr. Chen, is on the roof to help him. First, they tie the ropes to a strong place on the roof. Then, Zhang Wei steps back and starts to go down the side of the building.

He cleans from the top floor. He uses a hose (软管) to put clean water on the window. Next, he uses a brush to clean the dirt. Finally, he uses a tool called a squeegee (橡皮刮水刷) to make the window dry and very clear. He does this for every window.

When he works, he can see inside the rooms. He sees people working or having meals. Sometimes, a child sees him and waves. Zhang Wei smiles and waves back. This makes him happy.

At the end of the day, his work is done. He climbs down to the ground. He looks up at the building. All the windows are clean and shining in the sun. Zhang Wei feels proud. His job is high in the sky, but it makes the city look beautiful.

Everyone gets ill sometimes. When you are ill, you will feel uncomfortable and you can't study or work well. So it's important to know how to look after yourself when you are ill.

First, you should go to see a doctor. The doctor will check you and tell you what's wrong with you. Then, you should follow the doctor's advice. For example, if you have a cold, the doctor may tell you to take some medicine, drink more hot water and have a good rest. You shouldn't go out and play, because it will make you worse.

Second, you should eat healthy food. When you are ill, your body needs more nutrition to get better. You can eat some vegetables, fruits and porridge. You shouldn't eat cold food, spicy food or sweet food. They are bad for your health.

Third, you should have enough sleep. Sleep can help your body recover quickly. You shouldn't stay up late. You should go to bed early and get up early.

Finally, you should keep a happy mood. A happy mood is good for your recovery. You can listen to some light music or talk with your family and friends.

If you follow these suggestions, you will get better soon.

One Earth, One Home

The earth is home to both humans and animals. But today wild animals are facing serious problems because of humans.

China's Chang'e 6 probe (探测器) returned to Earth on June 25, 2024, with the first-ever rock and soil samples (样本) from the far side of the moon. China's space agency called the mission (任务) "a complete success" after the probe landed in northern China.

Chinese scientists think the returned samples include 2.5 million-year-old volcanic rock and other materials that scientists hope will answer questions about geographic (地理的) differences on the moon's two sides.

The samples could even help scientists to discover how planets are formed, according to the BBC. 

The near side is what is seen from Earth, and the far side faces outer space. The far side is also known to have mountains and impact craters, contrasting with relatively flat areas visible on the near side.

While past US and Soviet missions have collected samples from the moon's near side, the Chinese mission is the first that has collected samples from the far side.

The moon program is part of a growing rivalry (竞争) with the US—still the leader in space exploration and others, including Japan and India. China has put its own space station in orbit (轨道) and regularly sends astronauts there.

China's leader Xi Jinping sent a message of congratulations to the Chang'e team, saying that it was a "landmark achievement in our country's efforts at becoming a space and technological power".

The probe left Earth on May 3, and its journey lasted 53 days. Scientists are hoping that the simple materials contain traces of meteorite (陨石) strikes from the moon's past.

Experts believe that the aim of future missions will be not only to explore, but to take control of the moon's resources.
