China is a great country with a long history and its biggest festival is the Spring Festival. . Around the world, it is also known as the Chinese New Year. Families get together to celebrate and enjoy the happy moments. It is a tradition that people put Spring Festival couplets on the front doors to welcome luck and happiness in. , which are usually put on windows, doors, and walls. In some towns and the countryside, people still keep the tradition today. People in cities try every way to blend(混合;融合)the tradition with their modern life. 

To welcome the Spring Festival, . They encourage their students to create the couplets in Chinese and art classes as well as in certain clubs to celebrate the festival. The year 2026 is the Chinese Year of Horse. Before this Spring Festival, the art teachers of one school in Xi'an encouraged and guided their students to put the idea of paper cutting into handicrafts (手工艺品). As their imaginations flew, out from the students came great artistic works. and successfully made big handicrafts of horses and the Chinese character of "福"(meaning "luck") in paper-cut style. One student of a class even used the idea of horseshoes to create the artwork of 2026 New Year greetings!

This is a true story of a four-legged hero as well as animal friendship and care. Everything took place in Nairobi, Kenya — a country in East Africa. 

When she was just a few weeks old, a small elephant sadly lost her mother to poacher attack(偷猎袭击). Luckily, the little elephant was found by a farmer and taken to an elephant orphanage* where she was named Natumi. There, at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Natumi was safe, but very scared and shy. Soon, however, new orphaned baby elephants began to arrive at the shelter. At first, Natumi hid behind her keeper's legs, but it soon became clear that the other baby elephants needed someone to depend on. They were very young and many of them had injuries(外伤;损伤)like wounds and scratches. To everyone's surprise, shy little Natumi stepped up to the task. She began to act like a big sister to the seven other elephants, keeping them calm and playing with them in the surrounding bush(周边的荒地). Guided by Natumi, the elephants had soon formed their own loving family. In the end, the new family of elephants was strong and healthy enough to return to the wild —but the workers at the shelter would never forget a little elephant named Natumi who made it possible. 

*An orphan is an animal or human child whose parents are both dead. An orphanage is a place , also called shelter, where orphans live and are cared for.

Aria Law, aged 17, lives in an Asian community in Canada. She always enjoys making bao, traditional Chinese buns (面点), with her grandmother. Aria thinks that sharing this special part of her culture may help bring people together and encourage caring.

A few years ago, Aria decided to do something meaningful. Since Chinese families often make dumplings together, she started a family cooking activity for the community. She used cheerful colors to make bao. She also made bao shaped like human faces, animals and cartoon characters (人物).

Bull sharks (牛鲨) have friends too, scientists have discovered. People usually think sharks live alone, but a new study suggests that bull sharks have friends they like to spend time with.

Scientists watched 184 sharks over six years. The sharks were fed together inside a protected area. Researchers could go deep down and watch them. The team recorded their actions, such as sharks leading and following each other and how close together the sharks swam.

They found that both male (雄性的) and female (雌性的) bull sharks like to play with females, but males form more social relationships. This might be because males are smaller than females, so having more friends protects them from larger sea animals.

The researchers said that like other animals, bull sharks might learn new skills, find food and stay safe from enemies by social connections.

"As humans, we build different kinds of social relationships. And these sharks are doing similar things," said Natasha Marosi, who led the research. The scientists said understanding bull sharks' actions can teach us more about how they live together and move around, which can help with shark protection.

Angelo was a businessman. In 2005, he was quite ill. So he wanted a place where he could live a happy and healthy life. He realized that he didn't need to live in a huge house in the city. He believed that being closer to nature could help him feel better.

One day, he was in the woods when it started to rain. He looked for a place to keep dry and he discovered a cave (洞穴) house! It was 800 years old. From 1962, no one lived there and the house stayed empty. Angelo liked the house very much. He went to see the possibility of getting it. It was for sale and in 2010 he decided to buy it.

The house is not huge. It is about 65 m². It has modern facilities (设施), such as hot water, Internet connections and heating under the floors of the rooms. Angelo uses the house as a place to go to sometimes, to get away from his busy city life. In order to help other people get closer to nature, he shares his house with them when he doesn't live there. They can enjoy Angelo's happy house and run away from their busy lives too.

Professor Chen of the Fudan University Library says that 70% of the library's collection now is e-books, but he still believes that good books are worth reading slowly and fully.

Professor Lin from Shanghai Normal University agrees that the AI age calls for deeper and wider reading. "Though AI is good at searching for and copying information, it cannot match human creativity," he says.

Tang Weisheng, also called Longzai, comes from Guangzhou. He has loved breakdancing (霹雳舞) for almost 20 years. He began his breakdancing journey at the age of 13 in 2006. However, dance took up too much of his time, which worried his parents. To win his parents' support, Tang tried hard to do well both in study and dance. His parents found that dance had a good influence on him. Finally, they agreed. Their understanding became his strongest motivation (动力). Later, he turned out to be a famous dancer.

Tang first won national attention in a popular TV show and then took part in top world dance competitions. He got excellent results and showed that the skills of Chinese dancers reached a world-class level. Although breakdancing started abroad, Tang strongly believes that its future lies in China. "To give breakdancing a whole new life, I mix it with Chinese culture," he said.

Tang is glad to see that breakdancing is thriving in China. From children as young as 3 or 4 to people in their 40s and 50s, all shine on stage. He has begun teaching his 3-year-old son breakdancing.

Like countless young dancers who share the same love, Tang continues to dance and tell the story of Chinese youth (青年).
