My Favourite Chinese Animated Hero:Nezha

In recent years, Chinese cartoons have grown fast, and Nezha 2 is one of their brightest stars. It is not just an exciting movie—it also stands for the progress (进步) of Chinese cartoons and their cultural confidence. 

Chinese cartoons have a long history. In the 1960s, Havoc in Heaven became a classic. However, for many years, foreign cartoons like Disney were more popular. Now, with films like Nezha 2, Chinese cartoon makers are showing that they can create world­class stories too. 

What makes Nezha 2 special is its amazing visuals and its deep connection to Chinese culture. The film uses traditional Chinese values, such as courage, family love, and fighting for justice (正义). 

Nezha 2 can be successful because of the power of Chinese storytelling. That's also why people around the world are enjoying Chinese cartoons, which helps spread Chinese culture globally. As Chinese cartoons keep improving, the future of Chinese cartoons will look brighter than before.

Comics

Do you like to read comic (漫画) books? Even if you have never read an actual comic book, you probably know some characters from comic books. Do you know Captain America? How about Spiderman? Do you recognize Thor and Loki? Have you ever watched Superman? 

A comic book is a book made up of a series of pictures. The art and words are called "comic", but that doesn't always mean "funny". 

Rodolphe Topffer was a teacher, but he also developed several comic strips (连载漫画) which were published in 1827 in different places. These were all drawn carefully by hand.  Topffer wrote in horizontal (水平的) blocks in his own handwriting. This became the standard.

 Here, artists loved the idea and developed the technique (技巧) of using travel in their comics, which were always popular. The French also took part in strip comics, while there were still others who stuck to single comics that were going down the page in the book — instead of horizontal.

Comics started to become popular in the 20th century.  Comic strip artists have often used art to "make fun" of very serious subjects. Even when they were not "making fun", they used the comics and the characters to deal with serious topics.

Comic books continue to be popular, but over time, many of their characters have also been pictured in television shows and in movies.
