William Shakespeare was born in April 1564, in Stratford-upon-Avon. In the 1500s, it used to take two days (ride) the 100miles from Stratford to London. He went to his local grammar school from the age of seven until 15. Only boys attended school in the (sixteen) century. In 1582, when he was just 18 years old, Shakespeare married 28-year-old Anne Hathaway, a farmer's daughter. They had three (child): Susanna in 1583, and twins, Judith and Hamnet, in 1585.

He came to London in about 1590 and by 1592 he had become well-known actor and playwright. Then for two years, from 1592—1594, Shakespeare wrote most of his poetry. Most of his 37 plays (write) between 1594 and 1613.

Six of Shakespeare's plays have an (Italy) background, such as Romeo and Juliet and The Merchant of Venice. Because of this, many people believed that he had visited Italy, there is no evidence (证明) of this.

He was famous during his lifetime. His plays and poems were (high) regarded by other writers. He died April 23, 1616 in Stratford. It surprises many people that the only thing he left his unlucky wife was (they) "second best bed"!

As a nature photographer, I have to face the wind and the rain bravely, but I still enjoy working outside in the wild. One of the best things about this job is that you can observe (观察) animals in their natural environment.

My favourite place to take photos is Yellowstone National Park. As the world's first national park Yellowstone is famous for the variety of its wildlife, but it is probably best known for its bears. These huge, strong animals can live for 30 years. Despite (尽管) a weight of up to 300 kilograms, they can run at a speed of around 64 kilometres per hour and are also excellent swimmers.

Last spring in Yellowstone, I followed a path that took me through a dark forest. When I finally stepped out of the trees, the view was breathtaking. An eagle (雕) flew over the snowcapped (积雪的) mountains, which were reflected in the still lake below. While I was photographing this amazing scene, I suddenly had a feeling that I was being watched. Slowly, and with the camera still held to my eye, I turned... and froze. Only metres away from me was a bear. With water falling off its thick, brown hair, the bear stared back at me. Time stood still as the bear and I both waited to see who would move first. My legs started shaking. Somehow, I forced my finger to press the button. A second later, the bear turned and ran back into the forest. When I recovered from the shock, I looked at my camera. My most frightening but magical experience was now kept forever in a single image.

From time to time I look at the photo as a reminder to show respect to all animals. It is after all we who are the visitors to their world.

One Sunday afternoon in May 2021, waiter Paul Blachut, 24, was busy at work at the FLOSSLANDE restaurant in scenic Augsburg, Germany. From behind the bar, Blachut had a good view of the Lech river below, in which many people were cooling their feet. The water is very cold at this time of year, and it runs quickly.

Among those enjoying the cooling water were a mother and her two teenage daughters. They were playing with an inflatable tube (充气轮胎) by the riverbank, when suddenly the girls lost their footing and fell into the river. It all happened so fast. The girls caught the tube, which their mother was sitting in, pulling her into the river, too. Now all three were being carried away, shouting, "Help! Help!"

Blachut looked up from his busy work when he heard the shouts. Then he found the three women not far away, flapping their arms, trying to catch anything. Without thinking, Blachut ran down to the river and jumped into the cold water. All he wanted to do was rescue (营救) them.

As Blachut got closer to them, he could tell that the mother seemed to be in the most trouble; her head was now out of sight. At once, Blachut went down under the mother, pushing her upward and towards the bank. Then an onlooker (旁观者) got close to grab the woman's hand, pulling her to the land.

Blachut knew he needed to rescue the two daughters, who were now further down the river. He jumped into the water again and succeeded in getting one out in the same way he did her mother, while the other was saved by another onlooker.

Several onlookers expressed their admiration for Blachut following the accident. "The whole rescue only took two or three minutes," he said, adding that it was not a big deal. Actually, it was a job very well done.
