Over the past few years, keyboards have quietly replaced everyday handwriting. However, research shows that writing by hand has some special benefits that digital tools can't give us. 

 When we write, we hold a pen with our fingers, press it on paper, and move our hands to create letters and words. It requires a lot of our attention. This has been shown to support reading and spelling in children.

Be My Eyes is a free app created in 2015. It connects blind and low-vision（低视力）users with volunteers through live video calls, allowing them to get real-time help with everyday tasks. The founder used to worry about how to find enough volunteers. But today, volunteers outnumber blind and low-vision users by ten to one. 

It's not easy for volunteers to get a call. Zhang Yanfei joined Be My Eyes in 2019 but didn't receive her first call until four years later. Calls go out to many volunteers at the same time. If one doesn't answer immediately, another volunteer will take the call. 

Dick also signed up and received his first call the next day. An old sad woman was on the other end-she had dropped her ring on the floor. Dick patiently guided her to move her phone so that he could see the floor clearly. When they finally found the ring, there was a sound of relief from the woman. "This made me realize how important the call is for people. I feel great to help someone like that", Dick explained. 

Tesha, blind for 13 years, always uses Be My Eyes. From cooking, cleaning to packing for her travels, the Be My Eyes volunteers are always there to help her. To her, making a Be My Eyes call is more than just getting help. The short connection with another person during the call makes her feel better. 

Be My Eyes builds a community of kindness and support around the world. Life sometimes seems hard. That's why we need to step in and help each other!

When Anita's mom picked her up from school, the car was making strange noises.

My Views on Online Learning

With the development of the Internet, online learning has been an important way for us.

Duogai is a remote village lying on a mountain in Yushu City, Qinghai. The village had a school. The headmaster built it to provide education for children on the mountain.

This has made a huge difference. Now there are more volunteer teachers in the village. Through the Internet, the teachers in Duogai can achieve large amounts of educational content（内容）. They can download materials from the Internet and use them for teaching. The learning experience for students has become much more enjoyable, as it has changed from reading textbooks to multimedia learning.
