"I think real Chinamaxxing is more than copying small online habits. The true beauty of China comes from real experiences. We can't feel this just through short videos. It's a good choice to visit China and experience it in person. My family's Chinese journey has just begun, and we will keep exploring this amazing country. " A foreigner said excitedly.

Do you know Pinocchio? Do you know where he comes from? He is one of the most popular main characters from a long novel, The Adventures of Pinocchio. Carlo Collodi, a writer for children, wrote it. In the book, a kind old man Geppetto creates Pinocchio. He is a cute wooden puppet (木偶) boy with a very special magic. 

At first, Pinocchio is playful and dishonest. He does not know what is right or wrong. He always does things just because he wants to, without thinking carefully. Later, Pinocchio goes through many adventures. He is absent from school to play. He is cheated (被欺骗) by a fox and a cat, and even turns into a donkey (驴) because of his laziness. Every time he tells a lie, his nose will suddenly grow longer. Everyone can see he is not honest. 

But Pinocchio has a kind heart all the time. He does his best to get over difficulties. He even saves his father Geppetto when his father is caught in a whale's stomach. After all these painful adventures, Pinocchio learns to be honest. He stops lying and takes care of his sick father. One morning, he wakes up and finds that he has become a real boy. His wooden body has turned into a living child.

Our house was high on a hill above the town. One Sunday night, my sister Melati and I were visiting our cousins in the town. Suddenly, we heard loud eruptions (喷发) from a volcano (火山) . We saw bright lights through the dark smoke. 

"I've never seen anything like this," said aunt. "If you stay here, you'll be safe. "

The next morning, we couldn't see the sun. At 10 o'clock it was still dark. 

"Mom and Dad are going to be worried. We have to go home. " I told Melati. I took her hand and pulled her up the way. We couldn't see much but we climbed fast. Suddenly, there was a strange calm. Then a wall of water roared (咆哮) over the town.

"Melati! Darma! Take our hands!" It was our parents. They quickly pulled us to the safe house on the hill. Many scared neighbors also ran here together. We stayed and took care of each other during the hard time. 

After the terrible waves left, everyone started to rebuild their homes. Parents worked hard to clean up rubbish. Neighbors helped one another pick up useful things. We kids also gave a hand to tidy up roads.     ▲ Although the tsunami destroyed many things, it brought families and neighbors closer together.
