Dong Lina was born in a farmer's family in Dalian, Liaoning Province. Dong went blind when she was young. Like many blind children, she finished her education early and began learning tuina. Though the money she got was enough for daily use, she wasn't pleased (满意的).She was always looking for chances to continue her education at work.

One day, she heard that there was a training programme for blind youth radio hosts in Beijing.Dong, who has had a good voice since childhood,realised that this might be an important chance for her. So she gave herself the courage to make a change. The first time in the broadcast host class,Dong Lina was deeply moved, ____ she realised how moving the sound was.

Since then, it has been a new page in her life.At school, she worked harder than others to change her life. In 2010, Dong took part in a national competition, in which people were moved by her ability and encouraged her to study at the Communication University of China.

On 28th June, Dong Lina, the first blind master(硕士) of broadcasting in China, gave a speech at the graduation (毕业) ceremony of 2023held by the Communication University. She said,"Graduation is the end and the beginning. May we have dreams and keep love..." Her speech lit up all the teachers and students.

Terd Disayathanoowat,a39-year-old researcher from Chiang Mai in Thailand, thinks Yunnan Province in China is a place where he feels at home. Moreover, Yunnan borders three countries:Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar.

Terd first visited Yunnan through a programme for talented young scientists. During his stay, he developed a deep affection for the province, describing the experience as "like returning home". "My great-grandfather was born in Yunnan. He migrated to Thailand for business over a century ago and eventually(最后) decided to live there. I've felt a deep connection with China since my childhood," he said.

"Like many Chinese parents, my father believes in‘No pain, no gain.' He was always strict with me.Without his guidance (指导), I wouldn't have become a university scholar," Terd added, noting that his father still follows news about China.

Terd had never been to China until a study trip to Beijing 10 years ago. However, it wasn't until he visited Yunnan that he truly felt at home, as the province shares many similarities with Chiang Mai.From Yunnan's spicy cuisine and diverse ethnic (民族的) groups to its rich biodiversity, seasonal weather, and even the language, almost everything was familiar to him.

"We even look alike. When I was in Yunnan,many locals spoke to me in dialect, thinking I was from the province," he recalled with a laugh.

"Overall, I found it easy to integrate into (融入) Yunnan's society as a Thai."

Li Ming is a common8th-grade student who lives a very active life. He is the most outgoing student in his class, which makes him 1 among his classmates. Every morning, LiMing 2 early to go for a run with his father. He believes that exercising every day is important for 3 .
