The Art of Having Fun

Having fun is not just about playing, but about relaxing well and doing meaningful things.

After 22 years, Chinese soccer came back to the Asian Cup Final. This time, it was the young U23 team, not the national team. Their big  made many people proud in China and other countries.

On Jan. 24, China played  Japan in the U23 Asian Cup Final. China finished in place after a 0-4 loss. The result was not perfect, but it gave  for the future. The team's Spanish head coach, Antonio Puche, said he was  of the players. They practised day and night,  they were ready for the big game. Before the final, the team had not let in any goals in five matches. The young players surprised fans with  wonderful shows and they all played on the field. Goalkeeper Li Hao made 33 saves across six matches. Peng Xiao scored two goals and  the team's top goal maker.

"With a good plan and a brave fighting spirit, the U23 players have made improvements," said Guangming Net.

Ladybug (瓢虫) Mom

A mother ladybug lays sticky eggs that look like small jellybeans(软糖豆). She hides them under leaves to keep them safe from other animals. She also makes sure very small insects are nearby. In this way, when the baby ladybugs come out of the eggs, they can have enough food to eat at once.

Elephant Mom

A mother elephant uses her long nose to lead her baby to walk ahead slowly. If the little one falls down, she will help it stand up. When taking a bath, she sprays(喷洒) water over her baby with her long nose. Best of all, she often gives her baby elephant loving pats(轻拍) with her long nose.

Emperor Penguin (企鹅) Mom

A mother emperor penguin leaves her egg with the father penguin. Then she travels up to 50 miles to the sea to look for food and eats lots of fish. When she comes back, she feeds the newly-born chick(雏鸟). She takes food from her stomach to the chick's mouth.

Zhang Xue has become the pride of the nation with his strong will and deep love for motor racing.

He was born in a common family. When he was young, he began to learn about motorcycles（摩托车）by mending them. He often stayed up late to know every part of a motorcycle. Although he met many difficulties, he never gave up his dream of making great Chinese racing motorcycles.

He kept working hard and learning for years. His skills got better and better. He could not only mend motorcycles well, but also make new motorcycle engines（引擎）. He hoped China could have top racing motorcycles of its own, and not just use other countries' ones.

Later, Zhang Xue built his own motorcycle racing team. He trained hard and changed his plans again and again. He also tested his motorcycles on different roads. His efforts finally paid off. He achieved great success in many big races in China and other countries. People felt surprised at how good Chinese motorcycles were.

Zhang Xue's story encourages many young people. It tells us that if you have a strong wish and keep working hard, you can make your dream come true. He also shows the world the rapid（快速的）development of Chinese manufacturing（制造业）and the spirit of never giving up.

Mr. Ji is a fruit seller from Yangxian, Shaanxi. During the May Day holiday, he drove to Xianfeng, Enshi, Hubei with thousands of apples for sale. He suddenly fell ill and was sent to the hospital. His wife Ms. Liang came to look after him in the hospital. But she couldn't drive, so the truck full of apples had to be left near the hospital. The family depended on selling apples for a living.

The hospital asked all its staff（全体职工）to buy the apples. They set up a small stall（摊位）at the hospital gate. Many people, including hospital workers, volunteers（志愿者）and local people, came to buy apples. In just 19 hours, all the apples were sold out. Mr. Ji and Ms. Liang were deeply moved.

To thank the people of Enshi, Yangxian offered them free visits to its scenic spots（景区）for a whole year.

CHOKING FIRST AID

Choking（噎住）on food can be dangerous sometimes. We can use the Heimlich maneuver（海姆 立克急救法） to help them. It is easy to learn.

For adults and kids over 1 year old

Please remember:

1. Call 120 first before you help.

2. This way works for adults and kids older than one year. Do not use it for babies under 1 year.

3. If the person can talk, cough or breathe, don't do this.

For babies under 1 year old

In Queshan, Henan, there is a special" firework". It is made from very hot liquid iron（液态 铁）. People use two sticks to throw the hot iron into the air. Then, it creates amazing sparks（火花）in the sky. People stand. together to 1 the amazing iron flowers. This wonderful show is called datiehua.

Datiehua has a 2 of over 1,000, years. The word" hua (flower)" sounds like" fa (becoming rich)", so people believe they can have good luck and 3 by saying it. In 2008, China listed datiehua as a national intangible cultural heritage（国家级非物质文化遗产）to 4 this old tradition.
