2、Humans often talk to animals, but until now, the animals have never been able to talk back. With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), an animal museum allows visitors to have conversations with several animals, including some that are extinct (灭绝的). AI is a form of technology that can learn from experience and do things that usually require human intelligence.
For the next few weeks at the Museum of Zoology in Cambridge, England, people can use their mobile phones to scan (扫描) special codes (码) next to 13 animal exhibits (展览品). This will open a chat box on the visitors' phones and allow them to have a conversation with the animals. Visitors can find out more about certain animals, such as where they came from and how they were prepared for the exhibition. People can talk to animals such as whales, giraffes and red pandas: There are also some animals that are extinct, such as the dodo. Besides, the chats will show what visitors really want to know when they look at the exhibits, helping staff to improve the museum.
Jack Ashby, an assistant director at the museum, says they also wonder what influence the conversations will have on people. "We want to see whether chatting with the animals will change people's opinions about them"
(1)、What helps visitors have conversations with animals at the museum?(2)、How can people start a conversation with the animals at the Museum of Zoology?(3)、What can visitors find out about certain animals according to the passage? (给出一个答案即可)(4)、What do the museum staff hope to find out from the chats?(5)、If you were a museum visitor, what advice would you give to make the chat-with-animal experience better? -
3、Mary began to like her life here. Every morning, she went outside after breakfast and spent most of the day in the grounds. The cold wind brought pink to her face. And she finished all of her food each evening. She was much healthier. After dinner, she liked sitting near the fire and talking to Martha.
"Why does Mr. Craven hate the locked garden?" Mary asked once.
"It was Mrs. Craven's garden and she loved it. She looked after the flowers together with Mr. Craven. No gardeners were allowed in."
"But what happened?" Mary asked.
"There was an old tree in the garden with a branch (树枝) like a seat, Mrs. Craven often sat there, reading and talking. One day, the branch broke and she fell down. She was badly hurt and died soon. Mr. Craven locked the garden and never talked about it."
Mary seldom felt sorry for anyone, but now she understood how sad her uncle must be.
The wind roared around the house, and the doors and windows banged. Mary listened, and through the noise she thought that she heard a child crying.
"Can you hear someone crying?" she asked Martha.
Martha seemed pretty nervous. "No," she answered. "It's only the wind or the servant who works in the kitchen. She's got a toothache. Perhaps she's crying. I'm going to check if she needs any help." After the words, Martha left the room quickly.
When Martha left her alone, Mary decided to explore the house. She went quietly along hallways and up and down stairs. In the silence of the house she heard again the sound of a child crying. She stopped to listen at a door, but then another door opened and Mrs. Medlock came out, "What are you doing here?" she said, and she took Mary by the arm and pulled her away. "Get back to your room at once."

5、China is a nation of etiquette, which means "Liyi Zhibang". Chinese people are among the most hospitable (热情好客的) people in the world. If foreigners visit a Chinese family, they would be surprised at the warmth that they would receive as guests.
When you visit a Chinese family, the host usually makes tea for you. Then he will serve you snacks like biscuits or candy. Someone in the family will also chat with you, never letting you feel lonely.
At the same time, other family members will prepare a meal for you. Chinese people treat their guests with a big meal. They always present more food than the guests can eat. On the table, the guests must be the first to eat. Perhaps one of the things that surprises a Western guest most is that the Chinese host likes to pick food for visitors, which won't happen at Western tables. The Chinese family go out of their way to make you feel at home. As you finish eating, the host usually says, "It seems that you didn't eat much. Please have more." Although you tell them you are full, they still put more food in your bowl.
Being warm and hospitable has long been an important part of Chinese culture and tradition. As Confucius (孔子) said thousands of years ago: How happy we are to meet friends from afar!

6、I'm Patrick Williams, from the Hebei Student Post: This is the column (栏目) where you can tell me what you would like to change about yourself. Welcome to leave your messages.

What I want to change about myself most is my attitude (态度) toward life. Sometimes, I take things too seriously. Once, I thought I had done badly in an exam. I became very sad and lost confidence in future exams. It turned out that it was not as bad as I had thought. I wish I could be happier about everything!

I want to change my bad temper (脾气) most. I get angry easily, which may hurt the people I love. For example, when my mom cares about me, I often say that she talks too much. Sometimes, I even talk back to her. But deep down, I know she loves me a lot. I shouldn't behave like that. I really want to improve my temper and show more patience to those I love.

The only thing I am dissatisfied with is my teeth. My front teeth are so big that they almost look like buck teeth (龅牙): When I take photos, I avoid giving big smiles. I am also afraid that my classmates might laugh at me. If I had smaller teeth like other people, I would be very happy.

Are you an "E" person or an "I" person? Do you know what I'm talking about? An "I" person is usually shy, while an "E" person is usually more outgoing. These come from the MBTI test—a personality test.
Many people are very interested in the test now. They find it useful. All of the results have four letters (字母), and there are 16 results in all. It can help people have a better understanding of their personality. A greater self-understanding can be useful in daily life, such as choosing a job or getting along with others.
However, there are also some problems. Some people take it for a second time and get different results. Some people find it difficult to answer some questions. For example, I like staying at home by myself. But I also enjoy going around with my friends. Am I an "I" or an "E"?
"Personalities can change with time, and they are not black-or-white," scientists say. You may be an "I" now but will become an "E" when you get older. Or, you can be both an "I" and an "E". Don't be too serious. You can be anyone you want to be!

18、Are we the only living things on earth? No. We live with plants, animals and some other living things that we can't even see. Here we are going to talk about ants. They are tiny but amazing!
Ants live together in big groups. Each group has a queen (蚁后), worker ants and guard ants (守卫蚁). The queen lays eggs. Worker ants find food and feed baby ants. Guard ants protect the group.
Ants are very strong. They can lift things 50 times as heavy as their own weight. Just like that a child lifts a car. How strong ants are! They work together to build theircaves, and protect their family members.
Ants help nature, too. They also help to break down (分解) dead plants and animals. These make the soil (土壤) soft and help trees, grass and other plants in nature grow well.
Ants are also famous for their clever use of natural tools. For example, they drop pieces of leaves into water like boats. Then the ants carry them back to their homes.
Ants are fascinating insects because they play an important role in our world, but some of them are in danger. So we should try our best to protect them.

It surprised Boya. For years, he looked for a zhiyin but failed. Here, he finally found someone who could understand his music. The two became close friends, sharing their love for nature and music.
