I love reading. I spend over seven hours a week reading different types of books.  I read a lot at the weekend. 

I am interested in foreign novels. I enjoy reading the books ofRobert Louis Stevenson because I find them really interesting. For example, Treasure Island tells the story of a young boy who sailed the sea to look for the hidden treasure.  His story gave me a lot of confidence. After reading the book, I am not shy as I used to be and I am willing to try new things. I also want to travel and have exciting experiences in the future. Maybe I can become a writer when I grow up. 

I get most of my books from Sunshine Library—it is just opposi temy home. My friends give me lots of advice on books.

Reading is always a wonderful time. Good books are good friends . They also open up a whole new world to me.

②He could not see the fish's jumps, but only heard the breaking of the ocea n and the heavy noise as it fell. The thin fishing line was cutt inghis hands badly, but he had always known this would happen. He tried to keep the cutting across the calloused (长茧的) parts and not let the line cut the fingers or the palm (掌心). 

③"I wish the boy were here... If the boy were here, he would definitely help me," he thought. "Yes. If the boy were here. If the boy were here..." 

④But now, the old man was alone in his small boat, far out at sea. The sun rose slowly, and the water was quiet and deep blue. He held the fishing line carefully, feeling the strong pull from the great fish under the water. 

⑤"You'd better be brave, old man," he said. "Pain does not matter to a man."

⑥The fish was beautiful and full of life. It pulled the boat farther and farther. He was tired. His hands were cut, and his back hurt, but his eyes stayed bright. 

⑦He looked at the sea. It was wide and full of possibilities. Sometimes it was quiet, and sometimes hard to understand. He had been on th esea for many years. He loved it, even when it wasn't kind to him. 

⑧Once again, the fish came to the surface. It was the biggest fi shhe had ever seen—beautiful, shining, and strong. 

⑨"You are such a treasure," he said in a low voice. "God, please help me."

The Spring Festival Gala is a beloved tradition in China, andth is year, it has sparked (引发) a new trend (趋势): travelling to the same locations featured in the show! Four cities have become especially popular: Chongqing ,Wuhan, Lhasa, and Wuxi. 

In Chongqing, the famous Hongyadong is a must-see. It was shown in the gala as a symbol of the city's unique architecture (独特建筑). Tourists are flocking to take photos and enjoy the local food there. Wuhan's Yellow Crane Tower, a historic landmark, also gained attention. Many visitor sare heading there to experience its rich cultural background. 

Lhasa, the capital of Xizang, has attracted tourists with itsst unning (极吸引人的) Potala Palace. The palace was featured in the gala, and now people want to see it in person. In Wuxi, the beautiful Taihu Lake is drawing crowds. It was shown in the gala as a place of natural beauty, and tourists are eager to visit. 

These cities are not only beautiful but also full of history and culture. The Spring Festival Gala has given them a new boost in tourism. Travel agencies are reporting a significant increase in bookings for these destinations. It seems that the gala has become a powerful tool for promoting tourism in China. 

①Living in China has made me realize how convenient life can be .It has been even better than I imagined. 

②When I first arrived in China, I was pleasantly surprised. The public transport in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai is excellent. Subways can take you almost anywhere in the city, helping you avoid traffic jams and get around faster. High-speed trains are another great example—they can take you from Beijing to Shanghai in under five hours. 

③Another great thing about China is how easy it is to get services. If my bike breaks and needs fixing, or if I need daily necessities,el ectronics, or even medicine, I just make a phone call or tap on my phone a few times. Since almost everything can be bought or ordered online, I don 'tneed to go far to a supermarket or store. It is one of the main reasons I've stayed in China so long—something I haven't experienced in other countries. 

④What's more, China's convenience isn't just about the speed of services— it's also about their user-friendliness. The whole system is designed with user experience in mind. For example, the apps I use for transportor food delivery are very simple, even for those who are not good at technology. Payment methods are also simple and easy. You don't need to spend time learning how to use them. This makes it easy for everyone to get things done without trouble. 

⑤Life in China has become more relaxing and efficient because o fthis convenience. I believe that as technology continues to develop ,life here will become even more convenient in the future. 

A small bookstore in a neighborhood has become a local treasure .Unlike1 bookstores, it doesn't pay attention to selling books. Instead, it focuses on providing a space for people to talk about books. 

The owner, Mr. Lee, opened the store five years ago. He spent most of his money2 the rent (租金) and his favorite books—classics and local writers' works. "In a world full of3 information and fast-paced life, a bookstore can be a shelter (庇护所)," he said. 

Every weekend, the store holds small activities. Sometimes it's a book club discussion; other times, local writers come to4 their stories to us. A customer, Mrs. Wang, said, "This store isn't just about books. It's ab out a5 —we share ideas." 

Last year, because rent prices went up, Mr. Lee worried he might have to6 it. But many people gave away money to the store or offered to volunteer their time. In the end, they had enough to cover there nt for a year.
