Chinese have been using chopsticks for meals for more than 3,000 years. Chinese love using them but it is difficultwesterners to use them. Why don't Chinese throw these two (stick) away?

In fact, Chinese people like hot and well-cooked food  (good) than cold and ready-served food. It's very helpful for people (use) chopsticks to pick up the food from the soup. Here I can give you example about the hotpot (火锅). Anyone who has some ideas about Chinese food may (know) this word "hotpot". It is so popular with most Chinese people. Can you imagine using fork knife to take the food out of the pot while you're eating the hotpot? The food in pot is very hot, so it's (possible) for you to use the fork and knife which conducts (传导) heat very fast.

However, chopsticks can solve this problem (perfect). Usually, they (make) of wood or bamboo that conducts heat slowly. It's very useful and safe to have the hotpot with the chopsticks.

My grandfather often said "I won't". He used to be a furniture（家具）maker. One day, a neighbor invited him to make some furniture. When he arrived, he1 the wood was a little wet, so he said, "I won't start right away until it's dry." He chose to let the wood dry for a month. He knew working with wet wood could 2 problems later on.

Some people like eating in restaurants with their family or friends. They are excited as long as they get their favorite food.

However, eating in a restaurant too often is not healthy. It is difficult to know the cooking methods in restaurants behind the closed doors of their kitchen. Do they wash vegetables clean? Do they use clean dishes? Does that mean you shouldn't eat in a restaurant any longer? The answer is "no". The key is to eat smartly. Here are some suggestions to eat healthily in a restaurant.

Drink some fresh fruit juice when you are eating in restaurants. Stay away from soft drinks as much as possible. They are not good for your health. Make sure to drink plenty of water. Water is not only important for your body, but also can help you not to eat too much. Have some soup made from fresh vegetables, fish or white meat. Make sure that your meal is free from preservatives (防腐剂).

Avoid taking in too much salt and fat. Avoid eating food that has many artificial food colors which are not naturally made. Also, don't eat too much food that is rich in sugar. It is not good for your teeth.
