AI and Learning
Liang Wenfeng was born in 1985 in Guangdong. He studied at Zhejiang University and got master's degrees. He founded companies like DeepSeek. He loves AI and uses technology to help people, especially students with their studies. Here is an interview.
How can DeepSeek help junior high school students with their writing?
Liang: DeepSeek can give you simple writing ideas, correct grammar mistakes, and suggest better words. For example, if you write about a trip, it can help you add details like" the sun sh one brightly" to make your work more interesting.
Is AI like DeepSeek good for students' study? Why or why not?
Liang:Yes, it's good. It saves time when you do homework or prepare for exams. It can explain hard knowledge in easy ways. But you shouldn't depend on it too much.
When you were a student, did you think AI would help with learning?
Liang: No, I didn't. When I was young, AI wasn't as popular as today. But I loved math and computers. I hoped technology could make study easier. That's why I worked hard to create AI tools like DeepSeek for you.
How can students use AI properly without cheating?
Liang:Use AI to check your homework, not do it for you. Use it to get ideas, but write your own sentences. Always remember: AI is a tool to help you learn, not replace your effort.
What advice do you have for students who want to learn more about AI?
Liang:First, study basic subjects well——math and English are important for AI. Ask more" why" and keep curious. AI is fun, and your interest will help you learn more about it.
A Then, try using AI tools like DeepSeek to solve small problems.
B. You still need to think and practice by yourself to learn well.
C. For example, let it tell you why your answer is wrong, then try again.
D. What are the advantages of AI?
E. It's like a friendly helper to improve your writing.
Do you often Use AI to help with your homework? Why or why not?(不超过15词)

Lightning is a hot flash of electricity produced during storms. It can reach temperatures between 30,000 to 50,000 degrees, which is hotter than the sun. Lightning is very dangerous and can kill people if it hits them, causing tens of deaths or bad hurts each year.
Thunderstorms can move fast and can last for a few minutes or several hours. The best way to protect yourself during a lightning storm is to know what to do as soon as you can.
The first thing to do is to find a safe shelter(庇护所). A safe shelter is a closed place that is not too small. If you are in a car, be sure to keep your windows closed and stay inside. If you are at home, stay away from windows, do not get in water, stay off phones, stay out of the kitchen, and away from electrical outlets(电源插座). Rooms like the kitchen have many electrical appliances(家用电器)in them. Lightning can hit the appliance and then jump to you if you are nearby.
If you happen to be outside and get caught in a lightning storm, try your best to get to a safe shelter. If you feel your hair starting to stand up or if your skin begins to hurt, you are feeling the effects of electricity and a lightning hit is about to happen. Get to a safe shelter at once or squat down(蹲下)and put your hands and head on your knees.
If you are outside and cannot reach a safe shelter, find a low place away from metal objects. Such objects should be avoided because they attract lightning. If you get caught in a storm and you are in a wooded area, squat down but stay away from trees because lightning often hits trees.
If you are swimming, fishing, or on a boat and a storm comes up, you should get to land and take shelter immediately. If for some reason you are on a boat and cannot get to bank quickly, you should squat down as low as possible in the middle of the boat.
(1)、How does the writer lead in the topic?A、By asking questions. B、By listing numbers. C、By giving reasons. D、By sharing stories.(2)、What can you do at home during a lighting storm?A、Take a shower. Listening to music can make you feel less sick when in a moving car, according to new research--but it depends on the type of song you play.
Motion sickness(晕运病)is feeling uncomfortable or like you want to vomit(呕吐), often when you're travelling by car, boat, plane or train. Other movement can cause it too. About one in three people are likely to get motion sickness if the movement is strong enough. Children between the age of 2 and 12 are more likely to feel ill than adults, but no one knows why some people fight with it their whole lives and others don't.
People get motion sickness because their senses are sending different messages to their brains. In a moving car, for example, your eyes see movement, but your inner ears(内耳)which control balance feels you are sitting still. This can make you feel ill.
To test music's effects, a brain specialist in China showed a study with 30 volunteers who easily get motion sickness. The volunteers were set up with instruments that made them feel like they were in a car, while sensors(传感器)on their heads recorded their brain activity. After a drive that made them feel sick, researchers played different types of music.
The result showed that joyful music was the best at reducing sickness. Soft music came next, followed by energetic music. However, sad music actually made people feel better more slowly. In fact, people who listened to no music at all felt better than those who listened to sad songs.
Based on this, the researchers believe that creating a personalized playlist of happy songs could be a simple and effective way to help you beat motion sickness on your next trip

①Many people who go to a new country or try a new culture may feel homesick and stressed at first. This feeling is often called"culture shock". There are four main steps in how people change when they move to a new culture.
②The first step is the"honeymoon"stage. When you arrive in a new environment, you'll be interested in the new culture; everything will seem exciting; everyone will seem friendly and helpful. You are not used to the culture yet.

⑤The last step is the"home"or"stability"stage—this is the point when you start to feel at home in the new culture, and prefer certain aspects of the new culture to your own culture.

Jude, a 12-year-old boy, has a stammer. Stammering is different from the way most people speak. It leads to people repeating letters and sounds or not being able to get words out.
In order to make people (know) more about the problem, Jude has written book called My Life with a Stammer. It's inspired by an experience he had at school while ordering lunch. He tried to get his words out and ended up a meal he didn't want. The aim of the book is to raise awareness (意识) of what stammering is, and help all students have a stammer.
To other people with a stammer, Jude says, "I know it's (sure) hard to have people laugh if you stammer, but it won't change what you want to do with your life and how you want to live it. " Jude thinks friends with a stammer should (give) time to speak.
Jude still struggles with his stammer sometimes, he has found ways to manage it. "One (use) thing is to talk in front of others!" He now meets with a class in person twice a week and makes (speech) to them. It has helped him become much more confident.
Jude enjoys (he) playing football and creating board games but he wants to get his book into lots of schools and write another about public speaking.
