Thousands of years ago, in the south of ancient China, there lived Shennong, a man who had an ox(牛) head and human body. Seeing that local people were suffering from disease, he built ladders and houses on a high mountain to store hundreds of medical plants. To remem-ber him, people named the place Shennongjia.

The legend(传说) makes Shennongjia in Hubei a nice place for tourists. Traveling there is a unique experience, as you can see scenes of the four seasons from different altitudes(海拔). "When the bottom of the mountain is summer, the top is spring and while the foothill is autumn, the top is covered with ice," local people say of the special climate of Shennongjia.

Shennongjia is also home to 5,000 species of animals and plants. Many animals in danger live there, such as the golden monkey, the clouded leopard(云豹) and the Asian black bear.

One interesting and mysterious thing about Shennongjia is its legend of wild men. Some people once said that they saw big prints or big-foot creatures. Yet so far, scientists haven't proved it is true and some say they are just bears.

①Table manners are an important part of Chinese culture. They show respect for others and carry traditional values. When eating with family or friends in China, following these manners helps create a warm and nice environment.

②In formal Chinese meals, seating rules are very important.  The oldest or most respected person usually sits facing the door. Guests of honor sit next to the host. Younger people should wait for elders to sit down first before taking their seats.

③Chinese people mainly use chopsticks. Never point chopsticks at others or use them to move dishes around. Don't stick chopsticks upright in rice— this looks like funerals and is considered unlucky. The rice bowl should be held close to your mouth while eating.

④Let elders start eating first. When someone serves you food, it's polite to hold your bowl up. Take food from the side of the dish closest to you, not from the center. Don't make loud noises while eating or drinking soup. Always chew with your mouth closed.

⑤Sharing food is important in Chinese culture. Use the public serving spoons or chop-sticks to take food— never use your personal chopsticks. Leave some food on your plate to show you' re full. Finishing everything may suggest you' re still hungry. Remember to thank the host before leaving.

Lily had a bad cold. She didn't go to school. Her mother took her to the hospital. The doctor asked her some questions and gave her some medicine and advice.

Everyone needs to sleep. In the morning you are ready to work, study and play again. If you sleep at night, you can work or learn better during the day.

Your body grows more while you are asleep. No one can live  sleeping. If a child is tired, he needs  sleep than usual.

All in all, to be a successful person, you must sleep well. Boys and girls of eight or nine need ten of sleep every night. Get enough sleep if you want to be strong and  . If you don't sleep well at night, you can take breaks during the day.  You can't work well  you can't sleep well. So, everyone must get into the good habit of going to bed early and getting up early. Sleep well, and work better!
