Beijing Opera is aloo called Peking Opera. It came into being after 1790 when the famous four Anhui opera troupes(戏班) come to Beijing. Its music and singing come from Xipi and Erhuang in Anhui and Hubei. Its costumes are all fascinating and artistic. It's full of famous stories, beautiful facial paintings, and wonderful gestures and fighting. This kind of opera is very popular with Chinese people. 

There are four main roles in Beijing Opera: Sheng, Dan, Jing and Chou. Sheng is the leading male (男性的) actor. For example, a Wusheng is a soldier or fighter. A Xisosheng is a young man. A Laosheng is an old man. Dan is the female (女性的) role. Jing, mostly male, is the face-pointed role and Chou is the comedy actor or clown. 

Stories in Beijing Opera are very interesting. Some of them are from the history book, but most of them are from the literature, especially famous novels. The people in the story usually have some disagreements. They become angry and unhappy. They are sad and lonely. Sometimes they are nervous and worried. Then they find a way to make peace. The stories usually end with happiness and laughter and people are all happy in the end. 

It was Suzy's 8th birthday. Her grandmother gave her a pair of blue shoes for her birthday. Blue is Suzy's favorite color. She loved the shoes a lot. She told everyone that it was the best gift she had got so far . Suzy started to wear the blue shoes everywhere she went, except (除了) for her school, because her school shoes were black. She often we re her blue shoes, so the nice pair of shoes started to lose its color. 

She celebrated her 9th birthday in a few days. Suzy remembered the gift of blue shoes she got! When she planned to wear the blue shoes, she same a hole on the sole (鞋底) of the shoe. She also found that it was not the same nice shoes that she got as a gift. Suzy felt very sad and started to cry and became very upset. 

She talked to her mom about the broken shoes. Suzy's mom talked with her for a long time. Mom said that when she was younger, she lived in a village and that there were not pro per facilities (设施). As she grows old now, she needs to accept the change. 

She added, "Suzy, you were 8 years old before a year. You were in Grade 3. Now you are in Grade 4. It is a change. If you are not ready to accept the change, you would always stay in Grade 3. Or you would be still studying in kindergarten (幼儿园)! In our life, we can meet lots of changes, we should learn to accept good changes so that we can grow up with them happily. "

Suzy understood. She got a pair of shoes again for her ninth birthday. This time it was not blue, but a pair of pink shoes!

I am a girl berm with a problem in my legs. Moving is a big peablem for me. But because my teachers and my friends helped me, my school life was great. 

My friends and I sat together. When we were free, we often played games.We often had lunch together. If I didn't go to school when I was ill, my friends would me my study. 

All my teacher s were nice. My English teacher was very tall. When she entered the classroom, we would all be quiet and open our books. She would listen to me speaking English. My English improved a lot because of her help. 

So did my math teacher, my science teacher and my P. E. teacher. My teachers we're nice and sweet. They would always help me when I had a poollem. They also gave me important project work and I felt happy when I finished it quickly and correctly. 

I really want to show my thanks to all my wonderful teachers and friends. Without them, my school life would not have been so happy. 

Do you often exercise? It is important for us. Here are some way s about how to exercise well. 

Warm up. It is important to warm up before you exercise. You need to stretch (伸展) your legs and arms before you do any activity like running and swimming. 

Find good places to exercise. You do not need to spend a lot of money exercising. You can play sports in a park or in your school gym. They are good places for students to exercise. You don't need to buy equipment(器材). Just get your body moving!

Keep regular(规律的) exercise. Choose a sport you are interested in and then your exercise will be fun. If you want to stay healthy, you'd better exercise at least 3 times every week. 

Drink loss of water. It is important to drink water when you exercise. Your body needs water for keeping cool. 

Be careful! If you get hurt, take a good rest until you feel better.  Evercising when you are hurt is bad for your health. 

Food is very important. Everyone needs to eat well if he or she wants to have a strong body. 

There are many kinds of healthy foods. You can have more bananas, apples, ceanges, tomatoes and cabbages because fruit and vegetables are good for you. Remember there is a saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away. " Don't eat too much junk food. It's bad for your health. Although many kids know it's not a good habit, they still out this food. Some of them eat it every day. Some eat it once or twice a week. 

Sparts can also keep you healthy. The body also needs exercise. Walking, running, jumping and swimming are all good exercise. Exerecise keeps the body strong. Get up early and do some sports every day. You will be healthy and happy.
