I was going to Seoul, South Korea to start my study abroad. At first, I thought it would be a lonely four-month stay and that I would face many difficulties. But I was wrong.

I attended Sungkyunkwan University, a truly amazing university in the heart of Seoul. Built in 1398, it's the oldest university in the country. At the University of Reading in the UK, I studied graphic design, but in South Korea I chose to study more of the business side of design and the Korean language. I really benefit from the different views offered by the professors (教授) there.

I also got help from the Turing Scheme. Thanks to it, I could experience everything in the university without worrying about money. It allowed me to live life to the fullest there.

But the best part of this experience was the people I met along the way. With them, I travelled to places like Pohang, Busan, Jeju, Incheon and more. it wasn't just other exchange students. The students at the host university were also friendly. I now have plenty of friends in South Korea.

I can say truthfully that | fell in love with Seoul. Actually, I'm writing this from Seoul months after my studying ended because I simply don't want to leave. Studying abroad is stressful, but I would do it a thousand times over. If you're considering it, let this be the sign to do it. I think it's better to regret (后悔) doing something rather than to regret never doing it at all.

In middle school, I skipped(跳过)a grade and began taking high school classes. But soon l found l was1 chemistry. The teacher thought we all had taken it before, but in fact many hadn't. Since we were not allowed to change classes, we had to keep learning without knowing the basics. 

With my falling grades in the course and the warning of probation(学业察看)from the teacher, my2 began to drop.

A Wonderful Christmas Gift

Christmas was so close, and so was Ann's birthday. She wished she could get a new dress with frills (荷叶边)and lace (蕾丝) as a wonderful Christmas gift. But Ann did not want to ask her mom for that. She knew how hard her mom worked to make a living. Maybe she could make a wish -.. maybe Santa Claus (圣诞老人) would come..
