When Auntie Lin finished, she handed me a mirror. A crown of pink and white blossoms rested in my hair. I didn't see a city girl but a part of a story I never knew was mine. That day, I brought a garden home, not just on my head, but in my heart.

In January 2026, Zhong Chen, a student from a middle  school in  Longgang District,  Shenzhen, showed her talent through the school's Fish Lantern Club. At first, she thought it was just an art activity, but she soon realized it was a meaningful 1 into traditional culture.

The club's teacher, Ms. Zeng,  explained that the  fish  lantern  dance  is  a  national  intangible cultural  heritage.  To  make  it  easier  and  greener,students  2  plastic bottles and paper instead of traditional bamboo. This creative method not only reduced waste, but also made the craft more accessible.
