 If you had to describe yourself to someone else, what would you say? It canbe difficult to see yourself from the outside, but being aware of who you are can help you understand feelings and strengthen friendships. 

Self-awareness means knowing your thoughts, feelings and behavior, and understanding how you fit into the world. If you are self-aware, you may know that you love playing basketball because you are good at it, and music makes you happy, or that you prefer watching TV on your own because it helps you relax. 

Knowing what you like and dislike, what you are good at and what you find difficult allows you to make better decisions about friendships, schoolwork and even which films to watch. You learn to trust your own feelings more, which builds confidence. The World HealthOrganization says self-awareness is one of the ten important life skills that help young people lead happier and healthier lives. Being self-aware doesn't mean only thinking of yourself. By understanding your own feelings, you have more understanding for other people, too. 

A good way to learn about anything is to ask questions. Ask yourself questions that start with" What" instead of" Why". So if you don't understand why you keep arguing with a friend, ask yourself what you disagree on instead of why you are arguing. If you are wondering whether you' ll like a book, ask yourself what were the last three books you loved and what you liked about them. Looking for patterns in your own likes and dislikes is a good way to learn more about yourself. 

Learning to be more self-aware is a skill, which means you learn it as you grow. So try out new things, like playing a new sport or listening to different music. Don't be afraid to dislike something— discovering what you find difficult and challenging is a key part of learning more about yourself.

The city of Ordos in North China's InnerMongolia autonomous region has started aremarkable project to address desertification and meet its energy demands. It intends to combine photovoltaic(PV) or solar power generation with sand control in the Kubuqi Desert and the Mu UsSandy Land. This will create the"Solar GreatWall"—a large array of solar power panels. 

The"Solar Great Wall" stretches from Juungar Banner in the east to Hanggin Banner in the west, passing through Dalad Banner. It's about 400 kilometers long and 5 kilometers wide, aiming to install 100 gigawatt s of solar power capacity. 

This project will make 3 million mu of sandy land useful through solar power and 9 million mu through ecological restoration. It also includes five major energy bases, such as the DaladPV Power Generation Leading Base, the largest single-site solar power park in the country. 

The project uses an innovative method of growing crops below the solar panels while generating electricity above. The Ordos Central-Northern New Energy Base in the KubuqiDesert is another important part of the project, with the first phase completed in 2023 and the second phase scheduled for 2024. 

To support this, Ordos is developing power transmission cables and new energy infrastructure, enhancing the local power grid. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, it plans to build and expand substations. 

The city is also paying attention to making new energy and equipment manufacturing development and sales happen at the same time. The solar power equipment manufacturing industry has made big progress, and high-energy-consuming industries are likely to use a lot of electricity by 2025. 

Ordos is building new platforms for solar panel-based sand control and a national area for showing sustainable development. By 2030, the project is expected to provide 50, 000 jobs, increase per capita income, and boost the ecological industry's output value. 

Playing is an important part of childhood. It's fun and it helps children learn skills and stay active. Whether it's creating an imaginary world out of building blocks or simply riding a bike, children love to play and they need toys. But what happens to the toys which are no longer enjoyed, or the bike that becomes too small as the child grows? Usually, they are kept somewhere and forgotten. To avoid this happening, we should make it possible to rent toys. That way, they can be sent back and someone else may need them. If lots of people share toys, it's better for the environment because fewer toys have to be made. Making toys uses resources such as energy, plastic and wood. It can be bad for the environment. It also means children can have the chance to try out lots of different kinds of toys. Once they are bored with a toy, they can send it back to recycling banks and get a different one from them. I think it's an environmentally-friendly way and it is clean because there will be less mess to clear up at home or fewer cupboards filled with toys. 

Today is my birthday and it is the first birthday I(spend) since I left home. You can't imagine how much I miss you! A few days ago, we (learn) a poem and discussed the famous line" You don't know what you' ve got until it's gone. " Miss Li said that her primary school teacher made a big difference in her life. She told us how her teacher encouraged her. But she mentioned that she didn't have  chance to tell her. She was very sad about this. This made (I) think a lot, especially when I am hundreds of kilometers away from home. I am writing you this letter because I want you (know) how much I love you. 

Time goes (quick) and so much has happened. There have been bad times and good times, but you were always by my side. When I won different kinds of (prize), you always smiled and said you were proud of me. I failed my math exam, you encouraged me and said that everything would be much(good). Now when Ihave problems, I always think of your words which encouraged me to deal  all my difficulties and helped me so much. 

You have always said that we should judge people's success by how they live their lives every day. I think I'm living a successful life and it's all because of you. Thank you, Mom. 

Seven years ago, I was a 16-year-old girl doing a part-time job at an aquarium(水族馆). My passion for the1 and my dream of becoming a biologist made every day at the aquarium exciting. I also got along well with the other workers. 

However, when" Shark Week" arrived, on the day of my duty, I suddenly fell2 . My face appeared pale and I was about to3 . My co-worker noticed and walked me to the office. Feeling really sick, I knew I had to take a4 home. 

As I made my way to the bus stop, I passed a cupcake shop. Considering the hot weather, I decided to5 myself to an ice cream. The woman at the checkout did the usual customer service "How's your day?" Hearing this, I almost6 in tears as I explained that I wasn't well enough to work and that I would end up missing Shark Week. She looked at me in sympathy and7 asked if I wanted some chocolate on my ice cream. I said sure. As I8 for my purse, the woman immediately told me that it was on her. I was so9 that I thanked her a million times before leaving. 

My memory isn't the best, but her act of kindness did make my terrible day better. Small kindnesses really make a10 . The experience of that day has always reminded me to be a source of positivity for those around me, especially during difficult times.
