To most people, a handmade book is only paper and thread. But for Anastasia, a young girl from Russia, every page has a special story she wants to tell the world.

Anastasia studies in St. Petersburg. Before she came to China, she read lots of Chinese folk stories online.She was very happy when she knew she would come to China for a cultural exchange. She spent much time prepar-ing for the trip to learn about traditional Chinese culture.

In China, Anastasia and her classmates stayed for a month to learn from local artists. They learned the story of"double happiness(双喜)" and the twelve zodiac animals(十二生肖). They also visited old gardens and experi-enced the life of ancient Chinese people. Everything was new and interesting for them.

The story of the twelve zodiac animals attracted Anastasia most. She said Russia also had animal signs, so theChinese zodiac made her feel warm. But the story about the rat was new to her,  so she decided to write this story in her book.

With the help of Mr. Xu Jinlin,  a Chinese teacher,  the  students made their own handmade books. One ofAnastasia's classmates, Natalia,  drew many beautiful pavilions(亭)  and bridges from Chinese gardens. And her friend Natasha made special pages for Chinese Xiehouyu—— two-part sayings with hidden meanings.

From this special journey, Anastasia and her classmates found that people from different cultures could under-stand each other through sharing stories.

Anastasia looks on her book as a great treasure. She will take it back to Russia and share Chinese stories with her family and friends. She hopes more people can learn about traditional Chinese culture from her book.

In many ways, artificial intelligence(AI) makes our lives easier. Among various AI tools, chatbots like ChatGPT stǎnδ-out—— thơ-can unđorstand what we say and find information quickly. This human-like quality is increasingly attracting people, some of whom are even starting to treat AI as friends.

According to a news report, a growing number of people are turning to AI as friends, especially among teenag-ers. Thev ask AI for help with questions that they would usually talk about with their real friends. These AI tools oathave different traits(特征) and personalities. Many teenagers think talking with AI is as good as or better than talking with real friends."AI is always available. It never gets tired of me, and it never judges(评判) me," said an 18-year-old teen Kayla."When I talk to it, I always feel relaxed."

But there are problems. On the one hand, AI friends are convenient: they are free and are made just for you,so you don't need to worry about being turned down. On the other hand, relying too much on AI can make teenagers feel more lonely. It also becomes harder for them to make real friends, as meeting people can feel challenging.

What's more, if teenagers only talk to AI, they won't learn to understand others. Therefore, while AI can be a helpful tool in our daily lives, it is very important for teenagers to recognize both its benefits and risks. Learning to use AI wisely is the key to balancing technology and healthy growth.

In the central square of Zengchong Village in Guizhou stands a special wooden tower lhe Zengchong DrumTower. Built in 1672, it is one of the oldest Dong drum towers in China. It shows the great building skills.(theDong people and is a key national cultural relic(文物).

The tower is 25 meters high with 13 layers of roofs. It is made only of wood in a special way. The wood is perfectly without any nails(钉子). Four large thick wooden pillars(柱子) inside form a strong center, and eight more outside form a ring. They connect tightly, making the tower very stable. The roofs are painted with colourful pictures of dragons, fish and other animals.

The tower is more than a beautiful building. On the first floor, there is a fire pit(火坑). People sit around it to keep warm, chat and have big meals. In the past, villagers held important meetings here. It is also a place for showing respect to their ancestors. High in the tower hangs a big drum. In the old days, people used different drum-beats to send messages.

This special structure is a folk building for the Dong people, serving as a place for discussing affairs in the communi-ty, welcoming guests, singing grand songs, and holding other important events. It is not only a living treasure of theDong people's building skills, but also one of the oldest existing drum towers in Dong villages all over China.

Today, the Zengchong Drum Tower is well protected. It stands for the wisdom and spirit of the Dong people. It is a living cultural treasure for us to value and protect.

The Qionghai Lake Wetland

The Qionghai Lake Wetland, located in Sichuan Province, is well-known in our country. It is one of the largest freshwater wetlands in China. The beautiful wetland is home to a large number of wild birds and plants. Here, you can not only see green waves under the blue sky but also enjoy the fresh smell of the water plants.

Years ago, the wetland faced serious pollution. To save the beautiful wetland, the government and local people took action for it. They carried out projects about repairing the wetland, reducing water pollution and protecting natural shorelines. Protecting wetlands means protecting our own home. Thanks to great efforts, the water becomes clean and clear again. There are many fish in the lake. The wetland's water is rich in nutrients that help the fish to grow healthily.

Now the Qionghai Lake Wetland is also called "the wonderland for wildlife". So far, more than 300 kinds of birds have been recorded here. Amazingly, several kinds of migratory birds even choose to stay all year round instead of flying away. Every winter, thousands of migratory birds fly long distances to Qionghai Lake. They travel from Siberia and northern China, arriving around November and staying until early spring. Many pretty birds make the wetland their warm winter home including wild geese, black storks and so on. The flying birds not only brighten the scenery, but also serve as a sign of healthy environment.

Nature is our precious treasure. Every year, many tourists visit the Qionghai Lake Wetland including many birdwatchers and photographers from different places. Whether you love watching birds, taking photos, or just walking in quiet nature, the Qionghai Lake Wetland is truly a great place to spend a happy day with family or friends.

The QiongHai Lake Wetland

With the development of technology, our life is a lot easier and more convenient than before. Some can write stories, make music and even create art independently. But if we  technology too much, we may not live a normal life. For example, some people aren't able to write well  pens. Others even find it hard to read words on books.

One of the biggest problems is that we will become  in communication. When going outside, we may often use the maps on our phones. As long as we put the address on the app, we can get some  easily after pressing "Search". But what can we do  we leave our phones at home or our phones run out of power? We need to ask strangers about the directions. How can we start the conversation? We should make requests  instead of asking them the direct questions, but we may forget how to use them in real life.

Another problem is that our true feelings or special styles will disappear in pictures. Many of us are getting used to  pictures with AI. AI can draw pretty pictures by looking at lots of real . But it often fails to show how we truly feel and what personal style we really . Instead, human painters can only use a brush to show their thoughts and feelings at that moment.

Technology is great at many things. Although it comes to many tasks, it can't replace humans. Technology will develop much  and make our life more convenient if we use them properly.

Show Our Support

Sometimes our friends go through difficult times. They have to deal with illnesses or other big changes in their life. We probably wish we could do something to help but might not be sure how to do it. In fact, it's a good beginning only if we want to support them. 

Let them know we care

Our friends may feel like talking about their troubles, or they may not. If they want to share, we can help by listening. If they don't, that's OK, too.  We could show them that they are in our mind by making a card with a note inside, like "Thinking of you!" Making a video on our own or with a group is another method.

Our friends would like nothing more than to spend time with us. If possible, ask whether they would like to do something together such as taking a walk, watching a movie, or going to a concert. If they live far away, we could send them a special message to help them feel connected.

Finish small tasks

 Our friends want to take part in our daily tasks as much as possible, although they are experiencing troubles. If possible, let them help with tasks like doing the dishes, taking care of a pet, or folding clothes. In the same way, our friends also want us to take more part in their small daily tasks. For example, if a friend has missed school, he wishes us to help with their schoolwork.

Talk to someone

Remember that our feelings are important, too. It is normal to worry about our friends, and it can be helpful to talk to a trusted adult, like a parent or a teacher.  This is better than looking up information on the Internet. If we get an adult's help, we might find out more support for our friends.

Around 150 years ago, being in a dark period, China was weak and faced many challenges. During the late Qing Dynasty, the famous leader Li Hongzhang wanted to save the country. He believed China could become strong by learning from developed countries. So he sent many young officers and students to Germany. They studied science, high technology and machine building there.

At that time, China was like a hard-working student. German industrial products were highly valued. German experts taught Chinese students scientific methods to use modern weapons and build steel factories. They studied day and night, hoping to bring useful skills back home. Germany was truly their teacher, showing the way forward.

Fast to 2026, the world has seen a great change. China has developed quickly in science and technology. So a group of leaders from over 30 German companies visited China. They traveled to Hangzhou to visit a leading Chinese robot company.

The German guests watched amazing robot performances. To their  surprise, the robots could do many difficult movements like back flips, martial arts routines, and quick turns. Many of them were so excited that they were willing to stay here for learning China's experience in AI, robots and so on.

This shows a clear change. From a learner to a teacher, China has taken a historic step forward in some high-tech fields.
