When I studied at a school in Singapore, we had a special week in early April. It was called MAD Week. "MAD" stands for"music, art and drama (戏剧)". It was a week for students to have fun with the arts.

On the first day of MAD Week, we had to wear a hat to school. To my surprise, most students made creative hats with their own hands. Some girls teamed up and wore hats that looked like ice cream cones(蛋筒). One boy made a very tall hat. He could hardly keep it on his head! Another student made a hat with small toy animals on it. As for me,I used cardboard and leaves to make my hat colourful.

On that day,I also joined the"MAD Hat Parade(游行)".Groups of students and teachers held the parade around the school with their cool hats. We showed our hats to each other and took lots of pictures. I was so excited to see so many great ideas. At the end of the parade, teachers gave prizes(奖励) to the students with the creative hats.

I really enjoyed this"MAD Hat Day". It was not just about hats. It was a good way to make students love the arts.

The FIFA World Cup (国际足联世界杯) ,the world's biggest soccer tournament (比赛) , returns this summer.Sixteen  (city) in Canada, Mexico, and the UnitedStates will host(将举办) a total of 104 matches. The game starts on 11th June in Mexico City and ends with the (finally) match on July 19 in New Jersey.

It helps to talk to a friend who is not in the problem. You can ask, "Do you also feel a distance(距离) from our friends?"If they say yes, you know you are not the only one. 

Tell your friends how you feel.

If it happens often, talk to your friends calmly (冷静地).You can say, "I feel left out, Can we talk?" If you are not sure what to say, ask a parent or teacher for help if needed. 

Be nice to yourself.

If your friends still leave you out, give yourself some time.. And that's totally OK. Share your feelings-with your family. Spend time with other true friends and focus your energy on them.

When I was 11 years old, I readTara Westover's Educated:A Memoir for the first time. However, I quickly became bored. The book tellsWestover's own story: She longed for knowledge(知识). But her father kept her out of school. With strong will, she taught herself to study.

At that time, I found the book was difficult to read, because I was too young to fully understand it. So I stopped reading before I finished reading it.

This year, my English teacher asked me to do a book report. The book came to my eyes. It gave me a different experience to read it again. This time, I could finally see the courage in Westover's pursuit(追求) of learning. Breaking free from her family's beliefs(信念) was not easy, but she did it.She even went on to go to college.

I realized that my own education(教育) changed the way.I read and understand. Reading this book didn't just teach me about Westover's life story. It also helped me see my own growth. I learned that education isn't just about learning knowledge. It also opens our eyes and hearts to understand more about life.

When we walk into a forest or sit by a lake, we may notice many beautiful sounds around us. These sounds are the music of nature.

If we take time to listen carefully, we will find that nature is full of wonderful sounds. They are not just noises. They are beautiful music that can touch our hearts.

An Unforgettable Experience

Life is filled with unforgettable experiences. For me, the most special one happened

I still remember the summer day when I learned to ride a bike as an 8-year-old boy. It was more than just learning a new skill. To this day, that memory still guides me.

At first, I thought riding a bike was exciting but scary. My bike had training wheels(辅助轮) to help me keep balance. Once summer holiday, my father told me,"Training wheels are for little kids. You should ride without them."Then, my father removed the training wheels. At that moment, I was excited but afraid to ride a bike without wheels. To a small kid, riding without training wheels was a big challenge(纯战).

My father was very patient. He held the back of my bike sent and run beside me. He showed me bow to push the pedals(踩踏板) and turn. We practised for more than five hours. I fell down a few times. Slowly, I became confident(自信的) and could ride without falling.

Now if I am too afraid to try new things, I will think of that day. I learned a meaningful lesson: things that scare you at first can become great. You just need to take a brave step. This memory is more than a bike story. It teaches me to accept changes and trust myself when I try new things.

Write down all the things you want to achieve. Make it easy to finish. The idea is not to make yourself too worried, but to show you the way to where you want to be.

Set a clock alarm each day to let yourself know it's time to finish for the day. It can be so easy to just read one more part of the book or write one more page. But it's important to give yourself some time to relax.This is especially true if you' re studying at night, as your brain needs time to slow down before you going to bed.

All over the world, temperatures are going up at night because of global warming(全球变暖). A study found that when the temperature at night is over 30℃, the length of nightly sleep becomes shorter by over14 minutes. This may not seem like a lot at first, but it means that each person loses 44 hours of sleep every year.

Unluckily, women, old people and the poor are most affected by rising temperatures. Women's bodies cool more quickly in the evening than men's when going to sleep, so they feel hot sooner. Older people usually sleep less because they have poor body temperature control(控制), so sleeping in high temperatures is a real problem. In poor areas, people don't have enough money to buy fans or air conditioners(空调), so they have no way to get the temperatures in their bedrooms down.

As global warming is ongoing, we may lose more sleep time in the future. So caring for the environment is caring for ourselves.

The Lead is a great Chinese TV drama. It talks about a traditional Chinese art——Qinqiang Opera. It tells us a warm story of passing down traditional culture.

The main girl in the story is Yi Qin' c. She lived in a small village. When she was young, her uncle asked her to join an open club because it was a good way for her to live a better life. She was not good at singing the opera at the beginning. But she was very hard-working. She never stopped practising, even though the practice was tiring.

My Volunteer Experience

These days, a heartwarming"time bank" project is getting more and more popular in China, including Changsha. It is a special volunteer project.Young people help the elderly and record their"volunteer hours" as points.When the young grow old someday, they can exchange these hours for help from other young volunteers.

The project started two years ago in an old community near theXiangjiang River. Many elderly people there live alone and have trouble with small things like carrying heavy bags, fixing light bulbs(灯泡) or using mobile phones. Young volunteers, mostly college students and office workers, visit them from time to time. They chat with the elderly, help do housework, and teach them how to shop online or make video calls to family members.

This simple idea has created a win-win situation. The elderly feel less lonely and get on well with people around them in the community. For young volunteers, it is a meaningful way to give back and learn patience and respect."Helping the old makes me value my family more. It helps us build closer relationships with one another," said Wang Yi, a 16-year-old student volunteer. Now the"time bank" has over 200 volunteers and serves more than 150 elderly people.

However, the project still faces some challenges. Some volunteers give up because of their busy schedules(日程). Besides, a few elderly people are too shy to ask for help. To solve these problems,community leaders are planning a volunteer training program to keep it running. Meanwhile, the community welcomes more people to join the project and care for the elderly. After all, small acts of kindness will make a big difference.

China is a country with a long history. It has great traditional culture. Among the Chinese classics,The Book of Songs and Historical Records are two of the most important works.

The Book of Songs. also known as Shijing, is the  (earıy) collection of poetry(诗歌) in China. I (read) it twice sínze last year. It includes 305 poems.This book not only describes people's daily life, but also teaches people to be honest and strong. Among all the poems in this book,  (I) favourite one isHomecoming after the War(《采薇》). This poem mainly talks about how (soldier)had to leave their homes to fight for many years. They missed their homeland very much. But they couldn't (return) because of the war. By reading the poem, we can feel their sadness  see how hard the wars could be.

Historical Records, or Shiji, is first biographical general history(纪传体通史) of China.Sima Qian wrote it. It covers Chinese history from the Yellow Emperor to the middleHan Dynasty(朝代). This book is divided into 130 chapters(篇章). We can read plenty  stories in this book. I really like how the writer describes different people. For example, there's Da Yu, who, tried so hard to stop a big flood. For the safety of the common people, he refused (enter) his home many times when he passed by. In the end, he (successful). ontrolled the terrible flood.

These two classics are full of valuable stories. Reading them helps people know more about Chinese history and culture. They are well worth reading.

Last month, I was under great pressure. I had too much homework, and my parents kept 1 me with my cousin. I even had a headache and couldn't sleep well at night.
