I have taught English in China for over six years. I think Chinese students work very hard, but the way they learn isn't the best. Students would focus on (专注于) using what they already know. A lot of students seem to think they need to learn a large number of words or phrases before they are able to say what they want to say. Most of the time they don't, and they just need to use the words they have learned more creatively. 

A lot of Chinese students have spent a long time learning English, but they haven't spent a long time trying to use it. You don't need to go abroad to use English. You can find anything you like on the Internet in English—basketball, chess, dogs. . . I have met a lot of people from Europe whose English are very good. They didn't spend hours learning from textbooks, and they didn't all go to the best schools. They regard English as a tool for having fun, socializing (交际) and doing business—not just for passing exams. I suggest the students in China should spend more time using their English for pleasure (快乐)—listening to music, watching movies, reading news or whatever else they like to do. Whenever you use a skill, you'll improve it. 

We all know English is important (重要的) to us. But today in China, many students don't like English, and they don't know how to learn it well, either. In fact, learning English well is not very difficult. If you can use some good learning methods, you'll feel that learning English is a happy thing. 

First, you must learn how to pronounce (发音) well, then you can learn a lot of words and phrases and even spell them well. 

Second, you must listen to English every day. Sometimes you can listen to some English songs, and see some English movies. If you are free, you can read some English books. 

Third, you must learn about some grammar and learn to make sentences with the key words. You can keep a diary in English. 

Fourth, if you put your heart (心) into learning English, your English will become better and better. Please remember: Where    there    is    a    will,    there    is    a    way. 

In a word, English is very important and we Chinese can also learn it well by using the above ways. 

There are only 26 letters in English, but they can make more than one million words. Do you know the meaning of the phrase "a piece of cake"? It means easy. Look at this word: level. You can read it left to right or right to left—it's the same word!

Some students think it is difficult to learn English well. That's because they don't find the right way. I think reading is very important for students. The more you read, the better you'll understand. 

Reading helps listen, speak and write. If you often read English aloud, you'll improve your listening. On the other hand, listening a lot can help you to read better. Reading English everywhere when you are free if you wish. You can get a lot of knowledge (知识) when you read. Sometimes you need to express your ideas, you can either speak or write. That means you are using what you learned from reading. The same as Chinese, the more you read, the better you can write. If you want to remember something, you should read it again and again. So from now on, you'd better do more reading. It's a good way to learn English well. 

Chinese is very popular (受欢迎的) in the world now. Many people say it is 1 to learn and foreigners (外国人) can't speak it well. Is this true?

The Happy Prince

High above the city stood the statue of Happy Prince, covered in delicate gold leaves, with sapphire eyes and a ruby sword.  A swallow rested at his feet.  "I have a golden bedroom, " he said.  When he was to sleep, a large drop of water fell on him.  "What a strange thing!" he cried, "there's not a single cloud in the sky. "

This dog is angry.  How do you know that? It is making a deep sound.  It is showing  (it) teeth.  And it may bite you,  never play with an angry dog.  Young dogs like to play together.  They may fight  the grass and bite each other.  But  (not) worry.  They just play this way.  Dogs can also learn how to keep them-selves safe when they fight. 

Now you know how to watch and listen to a dog.  You can look at  (dog) ears and tails.  You can look at how dogs stand.  You can listen to the sounds dogs make.  Now you can understand how dogs "talk"!
