Dear Miss Lee, 

My name is Wendy Miller. I'm a 7-year-old schoolgirl. I want to be a pianist. I spend hours reading books about the piano in the school library. I love listening to beautiful piano music on the radio and watching piano concerts on TV.

Learn a New Skill

Use the summer to learn a new skill. The skill should be aligned with your interests so you can put your heart into it. Learning a new skill might not be useful now, but it may be something that will impact(影响) your life. 

Give Back to Your Community

Volunteering(自愿做) is a great way to spend your summer. By volunteering you can not only get work experience and meet people from all walks of life, but also help others improve their life. 

Spend Time with Friends

Go to do something fun and spend time with your friends. You can spend a day on the beach, go hiking together or spend a few days camping together. 

Read for Fun

In the past school year you must have spent lots of hours reading textbooks. Now it's time to read for fun. One of my favourite books is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. If you like non-fiction(纪实文学), I'd recommend Shoe Dog: A Memoir bythe Creator of Nike by Phil Knight. Some books I'd also recommend to teenagers are The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. 

You may not realize it, but frogs play an important role in our ecosystem. 

The smallest frogs are really (极小), about the size of a pea. You have to look very carefully to see them. On the other hand, larger frogs can grow as big as a (人类)hand. They are much easier to see. 

Many people know that frogs help to (保护) farming by eating insects. Insects can be a big problem for farmers because they might eat the crops. Frogs' (行为)is like little guards, catching and eating these harmful insects. (然而), in fact, not everyone fully understands the (重要性) of frogs in nature. 

Frogs are really special because they can live on (陆地) and in water. This makes them different from many other animals. Because of this unique ability, they are (受欢迎) subjects in studies on (气候)change. Scientists study them to learn how the environment is changing and how it influences different living things. We should try to (拯救) frogs and their homes so that they can keep playing their important role in nature.
