Many boys and girls love to watch TV at home. They spend many hours a day in front of the TV sets. But many parents let their children watch TV only in special time.

TV shows are like books or movies. There are many kinds of TV shows， such as sitcoms， soap operas， sports shows， fashion shows， etc. A child can learn good things and bad things from them. Some shows help children to know the news all over the world. Children don't have to go to the zoo to see animals. Boys and girls can see sitcoms， sports shows and game shows at home. Some shows teach children how to cook or how to use tools.

Many boys and girls think it is fun to watch TV， but it is also fun to read books， to play games or to visit friends.

After finishing her maths homework， Wang Ziyu， a schoolgirl from Hefei， takes out her smartphone and watches some short videos. Before she does her English homework， she just wants to relax for a short time. But after an hour， she is still watching videos. It is terrible that she doesn't often finish her homework.

Many students love watching short videos. Wang is one of them. According to a study， 20％ of the students watch short videos in their free time. About 10％ of the students check short video apps many times a day. "Some videos can teach us to cook， dance and sing，" Wang says.

Yang Chunxi， a schoolboy from Sichuan， likes short videos， too. "They show me something fun in the world and it's a great way to kill time when I am free. When I watch the videos， time goes quickly，" he says. But Wang and Yang also say they sometimes spend too much time watching videos.

To stop students from watching videos for too long， some apps now have the "student mode(模式)". Students can watch videos for only 30 minutes a day. "This helps me save a lot of time for schoolwork，" Yang says.

I started a new hobby this year. My hobby is collecting insects. I like insects. They are interesting， and they can be very beautiful.

I find insects in many different places， such as the yard around my house or the park near my school. When I see a new insect， I put it in a glass bottle. I look at it very carefully. If it's small， I use a magnifying glass(放大镜). Then I try to find out what kind of insect it is. I have a lot of books about insects to help me. After that， I draw a picture of it in my notebook. I also write its name， the date and where I found it. Finally， I take it back to the place where I found it and let it go. I don't keep it. Some day I want to be an entomologist(昆虫学家). That's a person who studies insects. Then my hobby will be my job！

My name is Scott and my hobby is collecting stickers(贴纸).

I began to collect stickers in 2018. One day my neighbour， Bob， showed me his sticker albums(册子). He gave me some from his collection， and my interest in stickers started from that day.

At first， I kept my stickers in sticker albums. Later I kept them in boxes.

Most of my stickers are from my parents. They often buy me nice stickers. I also exchange(交换) some of my stickers with my aunt. She is an air hostess(女乘务员) and she buys me stickers from different countries around the world.

In my free time， I like to bring out all my lovely stickers， lay them on the floor and take a look at them. I really enjoy doing this and it helps me recall(回忆起) who gave them to me， where and when I got them.
