Li Qingzhao was one of the best-known women writers in Chinese history. She showed great love for writing and was known as special woman then. Her life was hard but sweet.

Li was born into a literary (文学的) family in 1084. Her father collected a lot of books, and she was able to receive a much (good) education in her childhood than women of her age. Huang's love for nature began as a child, and her passion (热情) for butterflies grew as she got older. In 2011, she joined a research team led by Professor Ma Ming from the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography as a volunteer. Huang spent several months working with the team, doing fieldwork and focusing on bird protection, which started her interest in environmental protection.

She is now a co-founder of a nature protection center in Urumqi. The center's goal is to raise people's environmental awareness and protect wildlife.

Huang has developed a strong passion for butterflies. Over the years, she and her team have recorded more than 200 species of butterflies. They are also recording and collecting important data to protect biodiversity (生物多样性).

"Butterflies are an indicator species for climate change," she explained. "They are sensitive (敏感的) to small changes in climate, and their population changes can tell us a lot about the environment."

One day, while exploring the Tianshan Mountains, Huang and her team discovered a rare butterfly species with shining wings. "It's the Parnassius loxias. I found it!" Huang said excitedly. This species had not been seen for over a century, and Huang felt like she was connecting with scientists from the past.

However, the work is not without challenges. It is difficult to follow butterflies. Human activities have also destroyed many butterfly habitats. Huang and her team help local farmers make more room for wildlife to live safely.

Yu Yinghua is one of them. The 22-year-old girl started the "special forces style tourism" in March after she was attracted by such experiences of Xiaohongshu travel bloggers.

"I don't have so much time to travel in the last three years. So now I'm hungry to take trips in my spare time," said Yu. She gets trip ideas from daily life, like talking with friends. "But making a plan carefully beforehand is important," Yu said. She added that because she selected every destination (目的地) in the city, she was able to find a lot of information and learn more about these sites. That would help her save time and enjoy the sites better.

Her last trip was to Shanghai. Starting at 7 am, she visited nine local attractions. "That day, I walked almost 30,000 steps," Yu said, "Though it's a bit tiring, I enjoyed it. It still lets me have a better understanding of the cities I go to."

Chen Junjun is another student. Unlike Yu, she likes to travel to faraway cities to relax from her studies. In April, she took a two-day trip to Xi'an, Shaanxi. During her trip, she visited all the places of interest in the city.

However, Chen also thinks this way of traveling is not for everyone. "It is very tiring because you need to visit many places quickly. Also, you can't change your plans easily like you can on a longer trip. So, a lot of energy and a calm mind are needed for special forces style tourism," said Chen.

The story happened during the Warring States Period. In order to form an alliance (联盟) with Zhao, Wei had to send one prince to Zhao. The King of Wei (trust) Pang Cong most, so he asked Pang to go along with the prince.

Pang Cong was (worry) that someone would speak ill of (说……的坏话) him when he was away. Before leaving, he asked the King of Wei, "Your Majesty, a person comes to tell you that there is a tiger in the market now, will you believe it?" The king answered without (hesitate), "Of course not. It's impossible."

Pang asked again, "What if two people come to tell you that?" The king said slowly, "I might think about it for moment." Pang continued, "What if three people say so?" The king answered, "I'll believe (they)."

Make a to-do list.

A Fitbit tracks (追踪) a wearer's sleep throughout the night. According to data from Fitbits, the first group of adolescents slept an average (平均数) of seven hours and 10 minutes a night. Now, some 25 years later, the Vegetable Orchestra has played more than 340 concerts using fresh carrots, pumpkins, radishes and other vegetables. The group has now set a world record for the most concerts by a vegetable orchestra.

The Vegetable Orchestra is based in Vienna, Austria, but performs all over the world. It has 11 members and they come from different fields. Some are musicians full-time, while others are artists, writers, or designers.

Making vegetable instruments takes time and skill. Before each concert, the musicians carefully choose fresh vegetables at the market. The size and shape of each vegetable influence its sound. They use tools to create instruments like pumpkin drums, carrot flutes, and celery guitars. During the performance, the vegetables slowly dry out and change sound under stage lights, making each show really special.

Naturally, these instruments are pretty single-use, so the orchestra has a cook that turns some unused vegetables into soup for the audience to enjoy after the performance. The vegetables that they don't eat become organic waste in the end.

The Vegetable Orchestra encourages the audience to attend their concerts with an open mind. It wants to show people how creative music can be. Next time you see vegetables, maybe you'll imagine them as musical instruments too!

I attended Sungkyunkwan University, a truly amazing university in the heart of Seoul. Built in 1398, it's the oldest university in the country. At the University of Reading in the UK, I studied graphic design, but in South Korea I chose to study more of the business side of design and the Korean language. I really benefited from the different views offered by the professors (教授) there.

I also got help from the Turing Scheme. Thanks to it, I could experience everything in the university without worrying about money. It allowed me to live life to the fullest there.   

But the best part of this experience was the people I met along the way. With them, I travelled to places like Pohang, Busan, Jeju, Incheon and more. It wasn't just other exchange students. The students at the host university were also friendly. I now have plenty of friends in South Korea.

I can say truthfully that I fell in love with Seoul. Actually, I'm writing this from Seoul months after my studying ended because I simply don't want to leave. Studying abroad is stressful, but I would do it a thousand times over. If you're considering it, let this be the sign to do it. I think it's better to regret (后悔) doing something rather than to regret never doing it at all.

In middle school, I skipped (跳过) a grade and began taking high school classes. But soon I found I was1 chemistry. The teacher thought we all had taken it before, but in fact many hadn't. Since we were not allowed to change classes, we had to keep learning without knowing the basics.

Firstly, people have more and more ways to learn. For example, we used to have classes only at school, but now thanks to the development of the Internet, we can take online courses, which can create a safer environment to have classes if there is a pandemic (疫情期间).

Secondly, it has become more convenient to travel. We used to ride bikes or walk, but now we can take different transportation, such as the high-speed train, subway and plane. The development of the transportation provides more chances and ways for us to travel to different places. They can also save our time and money.

Thirdly, the shopping ways also changed a lot. In the past, people needed to go to markets or supermarkets to buy things. But nowadays, we can buy things or order food online, and the things we bought from any place in China and even around the world will be quickly sent to our home.

Lastly, the way of communication is also developing. In the past, letters are the only choice, but now people can chat or video chat on WeChat or QQ, make phone calls or send emails, no matter where they are. When we miss our family or friends far away, just take out our phones, then they can be in front of us!

It's happy to see the rapid development of science and technology in China. In the past, many new technologies were only invented by the western countries, but now China can also do it. With everyone's hard work, we Chinese are making it to the top!

For travelers, China in 1987 was a kind of place that could not be missed. In 1987, China was still using steam trains.
