Last New Year's Eve, I had a really special day. At first, I was a bit . I was chosen(被选中) to  a song at the school party. I was worried that I would sing badly. singing, I also had to give a short speech(发言). This made me even more nervous. But as I started singing, I felt better.

When I wasn't sure how to work out a maths problem, I always went to a classmate to talk it over: my twin brother. After we moved to the US, my twin brother and I had separate(分开的)classes until high school. 

Across the US, it is common that twins study in different classrooms. The so-called reason is that twins should have some independence(独立) and make friends with other classmates. In their eyes, it's not good for twins to share the same classroom. 

However, when we were in high school, our teacher made us study in the same class. From being in the same class, my twin brother and I witnessed(见证) each other engaging actively and, in some cases, funnily with other people. For example, one day, our class played a game calledScattergories. The teacher gave us the letter"S" and told us to give a reason why someone would be late for school. I, although being in high school, in my naive(天真的) mind, put"stoned", thinking someone would be late if they got hit by stones(石头). That was not what my classmates, including my brother, and my teacher thought. Everyone laughed, though. 

Having a class together was also a way to share an activity together. When I finished my homework, I usually did a lot of painting. And I often asked my twin brother to join me. So we could create something amazing. 

Now, eight years after the class ended, I do not remember much of the maths class, but I do know I was not in any way harmed(损害) by sharing a class with my twin brother.

Hippos, which are called" river horses", are one of the biggest land animals in Africa. 

    Usually, in most photos of these huge African animals, we can see them in water. The reason is that hippos stay in water for 16 hours a day to keep themselves cool in hot weather in Africa. They sleep in water, and their babies are also born there. You may think hippos live only in rivers or lakes, and they are good at swimming. However, they can't swim. They are just so big that they can walk in water or stand on the bottom of a lake. They can breathe, see and hear when their bodies are under the water because their noses, eyes and ears are on the top of their heads. When the sun goes down, hippos will come out of the water and travel to look for food. 

It's easy to think hippos are friendly animals. In fact, they are easy to be angry and often fight. ▲ They fight with lions for land or rivers. They fight to protect their young babies. They also attack the boats for their safety if the boats come too close to them. Hippos are very dangerous 

Hippos may look like big, slow animals, but they can run fast— about 30 kilometres an hour. That's faster than a person can run. In a word, if you meet hippos in the wild, just stay away from them!
