Former Brazil international footballer Kaka visited China's Village Super League in Rongjiang county on Monday night. Even though it was a workday, the stadium was full of spectators who cheered and welcomed Kaka. 

In 2023, the Village Super League (VSL), also called"Cun Chao" with 20 teams, was popular in China and all over the world because it was real and had a happy feeling. It even got the attention of England's Premier League. Their representatives came to Rongjiang and trained local coaches. Former England football star Michael Owen sent his congratulations in a video. 

Earlier, Kaka said in a video that he was invited by the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development and a Chinese smartphone brand to take part in the"ChasingDreams" charity football event. This is to help local youth football and the VSL develop. 

Besides Kaka, former Chinese players like Wang Kun, Hong Kong celebrity football team member Chen Baixiang, and some Chinese Olympic champions also visited the VSL. 

Football fans made two teams for the"Chasing Dreams" charity football match. Team members of the VSL in Rongjiang joined too. 

Lai, a member of the VSL organizing committee, said, "The Village Super League is not just about football, but also about cultural exchange. " The VSL is a big cultural and sports carnival with football and ethnic cultures. The county hopes to make more foreign friends with the help of international stars like Kaka. 

Before going to the hotel in Rongjiang, Kaka tried the local tradition of drinking homemade rice wine when arriving. During the match, he saw shows of local Miao and Dong ethnic minorities. "I believe the ethnic cultures in Rongjiang will impress Kaka and help him know China better, " said Lai. 

During his stay in Rongjiang, Kaka also watched a match of students from local elementary schools. A 10-year-old girl from Guzhou Town Second Primary School, said she started playing football in the third grade and was a fan of Kaka for his good skills. Football taught her about teamwork. The popularity of the Village Super League made many of her classmates play football. She hoped more football stars would come to the VSL and have fun with grassroots football.

Last week, the media reports said some storage companies, like Sinograin, used the same tankers to transport both edible oil and liquid fuels made from coal. This"open secret" in the industry has raised concerns about food safety nationwide.

China's third aircraft carrier, Fujian, started its first sea trip on Wednesday. This carrier has electromagnetic catapults and has a displacement of over 80, 000 tons. 

The Fujian left the Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai on Wednesday morning. Its first voyage was made sure officially when China's Maritime Safety Administration gave notices of navigation limits and announced military activities. 

Experts say that in this first sea trip, the main thing is to test if subsystems like propulsion and power are reliable and stable. In the next months, more difficult tests will be done on things like electromagnetic compatibility, weapons systems, and taking off and landing of aircraft. 

The Fujian was launched in 2022 and its building went well. Compared with the second carrier, Shandong, it took less than two years from its launch to this first sea trip. This might be because of the usage of many new and advanced technologies like the electromagnetic catapults. 

The Fujian is larger and has more displacement. So it can carry more aircraft. The electromagnetic catapults make it easier to launch aircraft. It can launch heavier, different, full-loaded, and faster aircraft. 

It is thought that the Fujian will hold not only better versions of the J-15 fighter j et but also new types of aircraft like the next-generation stealth fighter jet J-35, the fixed-wing early warning aircraft KJ-600, and the JL-10 advanced trainer jet.

Freestyle swimmer Pan Zhanle's performance in Paris has made his name known. He broke the world record in a race usually dominated byWestern athletes. The teenager got the gold medal in the 100m freestyle final in Paris on Wednesday, which made fans remember Liu Xiang's win 20years ago.
