Balancing study and rest   for us.

China put out a special mascot（吉祥物） called"Lucky Horse"on November 25th，2025 to celebrate the 2026 Lunar New Year—the Year of the Horse.It is considered as a symbol of energy and good luck.And it will be used in different celebrations to share festive culture. 

The design idea of the mascot comes from a famous cultural artwork called "Horse Treading on a Flying Swallow（马踏飞燕）"，which is from the Eastern Han Dynasty.But this is not the only idea.The design team chose a special kind of horse as the model.The kind of horse lived on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau（青藏高原） about 4.6 million years ago.This makes the mascot not only beautiful but also a symbol of power and long history. 

Traditional meanings and modern style were skillfully mixed together by the design team.The horse's hair is in the Tang Dynasty"Wuhua Horse"style.That shows beauty and best wishes.Its body is in bright Chinese red，a color of good luck.It also has "cloud"and "ruyi"patterns（图案）.In Chinese culture，"cloud"sounds like"luck"and"ruyi"means"as you wish".So when they work together，they will show best wishes for a bright future. 

During the Spring Festival，the"Lucky Horse"will travel around the world.This is a fresh and creative way to share Chinese culture with the world.It will turn cultural ideas into real and friendly gifts to help people enjoy the celebration.It's believed that the"Lucky Horse"will bring luck to everyone around the world. 

For most 22-year-olds，birthdays mean cakes and candles，but for snowboard star Su Yiming，his 22nd birthday on February 18th，2026，meant an Olympic gold medal—the perfect gift he gave himself and China. 

As Chinese New Year fireworks lit up the sky back home，Su was competing in the men's slopestyle （坡面障碍技巧） final at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in Italy.He got off to a flying start with his first run，performing difficult tricks across rails and ramps（栏杆和坡道） to score 82.41 points.No other competitor could beat this score，and Su made history as the first Chinese to win an Olympic slopestyle gold，an event long controlled by Western competitors. 

Su used to be a child actor，and was already a star in China before following professional snowboarding，but four years ago，at age 17，he became famous quickly after he won a big air gold medal and a slopestyle silver medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics.Before the Games，he had already won the third place in the big air event.This time，Su faced huge pressure and even lost resolution for a while.But his love for snowboarding kept him training hard，and his persistence（坚持） paid off.Especially，among 12 finalists，he was the only one to finish all three runs without any mistakes. 

Now a well-known name in snowboarding，Su is more than a champion —he's a role model for teenagers.His story shows that success isn't just luck，it comes from years of hard work，courage to challenge limits，and never giving up."This gold means everything to me，"Su said with a smile.His victory is an excellent lesson：as long as we set goals and keep trying，we can chase our own"championships"in life.

In 2010，Chinese painter Li Weiyi found a dying wolf baby on the Ruoergai Grassland.She saved his life，named him Green，and brought him to her apartment in Chengdu，raising him as her own child. 

For Green，city life was difficult.As he grew older，his wild nature showed up—he loved causing trouble，and the crowded apartment felt like a prison（监狱）.He shouted at night and wanted freedom.One day，he ran away and caused a commotion（骚乱） in the city，making Li realize the city was no place for him.She refused to send him to a zoo，believing he should return to the wild where he was born. 

Li chose the hardest way：she brought Green back to the Ruoergai Grassland，becoming his "wolf teacher".She patiently taught him survival skills—how to hunt for food，survive awful weather，and even fight Tibetan mastiffs（藏獒） to get their respect.Green learned quickly，catching rabbits and fish，and though he got hurt often，he used his wisdom to win the respect of the other animals.Finally，Green successfully joined a wild wolf group，becoming the first wolf in the world to be set free into the wild with human help.Today，Li still sometimes sees Green on the grassland，a living legend of freedom. 

This amazing story is shown in the special film Return to the Wolves.The film shows the deep bond between Li and Green.And the story reminds us that true love isn't about owning someone，it means giving freedom to those we love.

Fifteen-year-old David joined a community volunteer group to paint a long wall in a poor neighborhood.It took him a whole Saturday morning to paint a beautiful blue ocean.He felt very1 of his artwork.

A small food store owner found it was difficult to keep records of the product information. In 1948, he contacted (联系) the Drexel Institute of Technology to solve this problem. Bernard Silver was interested in it and he began tolook intoit. Silver and his students realized their answer in the form of ultraviolet light (紫外线), ink and a scanner (扫描仪).

The system did work at first, but it's very expensive and sometimes the system didn't work well. If the invention was to become popular in grocery stores, the problems had to be solved. Finally, Silver solved them.

The patent (专利权) for the bar code system was asked by Silver and Woodland in 1949. But the patent was not given until 1952. Although this patent was given, the system was still not popular among store owners. In 1966, the system began moving its way into more grocery stores.

Logicon developed the Universal Grocery Products Identification Number (通用标识码) in 1970. Marsh's superstore in lroy was the first store to set up this bar code reading system. It became very popular ever since, and now it's obviously popular in all types of stores worldwide (在世界各地).

First, we begin learning our music. We usually start by learning the notes, and then we add the words. Someone comes in to teach us the meaning and pronunciation of the lyrics(歌词) if the words are not in English.

Next, we keep the whole song in mind, even if we only sing part of it. One of the hardest pieces we sang this year was Tjak. It has four parts, each with a different rhythm (节奏).

Once we add dynamics (力度变化) to our songs to give them life, it's time to addchoreography. Jacque Bird, the director, tells us to connect the words we sing to our movements as we breathe and count in our heads.

As we get closer to the concert night, the rehearsals (彩排) get harder. My knees and arms start to hurt. But once we get a break and some food, we come back feeling better. We rehearse on weekends for almost a month beforehand. Every moment is important and worth it.

The real excitement comes during the rehearsal, when we meet our guest artists. This year, YPC invited Mandy Gonzales, Alexandra Socha, and Time for Three to join us. After hearing that we would work with them, we jumped up and down.

Showtime! We sang with musical guests and performed wonderful dances. At the end of the night, we shouted with excitement. For all of us, pulling off the biggest performance of the year felt great.
