"Umm! Even a dog likes it!" he said. "Well, Tiger, I won't say unkind words to you any more. " Tiger waved its tail happily. 

The boy thought and thought. Finally he looked at himself in the river. He saw nothing but a dirty boy. He washed his face carefully. Again he looked. He saw a clean nice boy. He was amazed. From then on, he had a new life. 

After telling this, the businessman stopped for a while, and then he said, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is the very place where that kind woman planted in me the first seed (种子) of kindness. All of us should learn about kindness. What a great power it has!" 

If you show kindness to others, you will be an able man. 

Charles Chaplin was born in London on 16 April, 1889. His parents were music hall actors. The Chaplin family were very poor, and life was difficult in London. Charlie, as he was called, used to do his mother's job in the theatre when she was ill. 

When he was only 17 years old, Chaplin got his first real job as an actor. What he did was to do silly things to make people laugh in the theatre. Seven years later he went to the USA. And over the next four years, he formed his own way of art. He developed the character (角色) of a homeless gentleman which became very popular. 

From the 1920s to the 1950s, Chaplin made his most famous films. The film Modern Times (1936) shows his care about the modern industry workers. Many of his films describe the poor life and hard time of the working people during that period. 

Although Charlie Chaplin was British, he lived in the USA until 1953. But he never got US nationality. Then Chaplin, his wife and his five children had to move to Switzerland where he lived until he died. When he was 83 years old, he won his only Oscar for the music he wrote for the film Limelight. He was named Sir Charles Chaplin at the age of 85. Charlie Chaplin died in Switzerland on 25th December, 1975. 

Chen Dong, a great astronaut, has become the first Chinese to stay in space for more than 200 days. This is the 1 time Chen has explored (探索) into space, following his first stay in Tiangong-2, in 

2016. "Chen is always trying to 2 mistakes and does everything perfectly," said Jing Haipeng, one of his team members. Chen was born in 1978 in Henan Province. To be a qualified (合格的) astronaut, he had been trained 3 for years. And finally in May, 2010, he 4 China's astronaut team. 

As the 5 of the group, Chen led the team of Shenzhou-14 to complete many tasks. For example, they had three spacewalks, did some experiments (实验) and even gave a science 6 like teachers to all the students. By the end of 2022, the Chinese space station had been fully completed. All the Chinese waited so long to see this 7 moment. 

"Building China's space station is always the 8 of all Chinese people," Chen said. "We are so 9 to see that the space home is completed in our hands. We will make good use of our space station to 10 more sci-tech experiments, so as to get more achievements to serve the world. "

Everywhere we go, no matter how old we are, we must follow safety rules. Though many people might not see the purpose of, say, stopping at a stop sign or driving at the speed limit (限制), rules keep us safe. 

People start to learn about the importance of rules when they are children. Needless to say, there are many rules that teach children right from wrong and how to keep themselves and their friends safe. For example, children learn safety rules when they walk in the hallway at school. Teachers tell them not to run because they may hurt themselves or run into another student. In the lunchroom, children should sit nicely while they eat because they are more likely to choke (哽噎) if they are jumping around. On the playground, they are told to use the equipment (设备) properly. For example, they should not go down the slide (滑梯) backward or climb up the slide when someone is going down because there can be an accident. 

High school students will also learn safety rules but at a different level than younger children. High school students may be taught, for example, safety rules in the science lab. Lab safety is very important because if one thing is done wrong, it can result in a fire or a bad accident. 

Traffic rules help to keep order on the road. They also help to keep people  (safe). 

The pedestrian(行人) has as many (rule) to follow as the driver of a car. You should walk on the sidewalk(人行道) or at the side of the road. Always look (careful) before you walk across the street. 

If you like riding  bike, don't ride in the middle of the road or run through red traffic lights. When you ride a bike  a friend, don't look around or talk. 

If you drive a car, you should (slow) down at the traffic lights. You must always wear a seat belt(安全带). Without belts both the driver and the passenger may be (bad) hurt in a sudden accident. 

You may not need to take a bus, but look out if you have to travel on one. Get on or get off a bus only when it (come) to a stop. When it is full, don't try to get inside, you may fall over. 

Traffic rules are also (call) road safety rules. The maxim(格言) for all road users is thinking about others. 

Summer is coming. The  becomes hotter and hotter. A lot of people like  in the swimming pools or in the sea. They think water makes them  cool. But some people are not careful enough. They often think they can swim  than others and they don't have to worry about anything. So these years, many accidents happened and some people  their lives (生命). Most of them were students. As we all know, safety is the most important. Do you know  to protect (保护) yourself? To protect yourself, you must be careful. Remember not to swim in a  place. Don't swim alone, and when you see a "No Swimming!" sign, don't swim, . Of course, you can swim  someone who can keep you safe. If you remember these, swimming   safer. 

People highly praised the two men. They thought they were heroes.  The car was drifting (漂流) down a river in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. There were many people on both riverbanks (河岸). They took videos of the event and posted the videos online. 

The event happened when a car ran into a river. When the car began to drift and go down, 53-year-old Jiao Dayin took action quickly.  He tried to climb on top of the car and wanted to break a window to save the driver inside. 

 Another onlooker, Wang Yihui, joined him at once. Wang also climbed onto the car, working alongside Jiao to free the unconscious (昏迷的) driver. Their brave work paid off when they finally broke a window and pulled the driver to safety. 

The wonderful rescue was met with cheers and applause from people on the riverbanks.  Videos of the event show how Jiao and Wang saved the driver in danger. 

Now more and more people buy and sell things on the Internet. They buy and sell goods to make money. So hackers(黑客) around the world are interested in this. 

Hackers are often young people who love computers greatly. They use computers to get on the Internet, looking for ways to go into computer systems run by banks, homes and all kinds of offices. If they go into a computer system, they will find other people's credit cards and try to steal the numbers. With the numbers they can take the money out of the bank. 

Hackers often break into your computer system, but it's difficult to find them. So it is also difficult for you to find the hacker who is taking your money out of the bank. Hackers can get the money from a bank with the credit card number they have got from your computer. 

Scientists always ask people who have computers to pay attention to hackers. They also tell people how to fight the hackers. The answer is to choose a clever password(密码) and change it often and not to show your credit card out to anybody. If you are not careful, it's just like keeping the bank door wide open.
