Our school organized a volunteer activity last month. We went to a nursing home to visit the elderly.
When we arrived, the elderly people were very happy to see us. We first gave them some small gifts, like flowers and cards. Then, we started to do different things to make them happy. Some of us sang songs for them. Some told jokes. Others just sat and talked with them, listening to their stories.
We also helped the nursing home staff with some tasks. We cleaned the rooms, made the beds, and helped serve the meals.
The elderly people were very grateful for our help. They said that our visit made their day. We felt really good about what we did.
This volunteer activity was a great experience for us. It made us realize the importance of caring for the elderly and giving back to the community. We decided to organize more such activities in the future.
