Lots of parents now buy everything that children want to have. If they carry on with this habit, their children won't learn that money  from hard work.

Some parents like to  birthday parties for their children. If they keep on doing this, their children will think it's to enjoy birthday parties every year. Year after year, maybe they will forget their birthdays and only remember their own. It is against traditional habits.

Many parents don't let the children do. They think children have only one thing to do. They should study hard and do  in their lessons.  parents go on doing this, their children will only learn to open their mouths to be fed and stretch out their arms to be dressed every day. When the children grow up, they will be able to do , and they won't even find a job. Parents should teach the children  to do housework because it helps them form good habits, such as  by themselves.

Scientists have known for years that people who exercise can live longer than those who do not.Some people might think that walking is not helpful enough to offer any health benefits(好处).

They may say that playing sports or running hard would be much better because they burn more energy.

When you stop and think about it, however, walking is one of the things that almost anyone can do at any time. Unlike many sports, you can enjoy doing it alone and you don't need any special equipment(装备). 

One of the best things about walking is that it can strengthen your heart. It will make blood move faster and give your circulatory system(循环系统) a workout. This also helps to manage blood pressure. As a result, you can lower the risk of having a stroke(中风) by up to 27%.

Even a short 30-minute walk at 3 kilometres per hour can burn off 75 calories for a person who weighs 60 kilograms. A daily walking routine can be a good part of a weight loss plan. To lose weight, a walking routine also seems easier to keep than other exercise.

Finally, walking can make you a much happier person! Walking causes some helpful materials in the brain. Walking is an excellent way to make people feel less stressful and angry.

Thirteen-year-old Cindy had been bullied（欺凌）at school for about two years. Her bag, keys and mobile phone had been stolen. She had also been knocked off her bicycle, kicked and punched（以拳重击）.

Cindy tried to fight back, but it always seemed to be her, not the bullies, who got into trouble. She became so afraid of going to school that she started to be absent from her classes.

Finally, her headmaster set up a special plan, asking students to look after one another. He gave Cindy the courage to play the guitar in a school concert, which gave Cindy new confidence and helped her receive respect from the other students. Gradually, the bullying began to stop.

Cindy's story is not uncommon, but help is always there. All schools in the UK now have to follow strict bullying polices（政策）. There are many charities and organizations giving support to young people, such as Bullying UK and Childline. So remember one very important piece of advice: If you are being bullied, don't put up with it—tell someone.

Astronomy（天文学）is the oldest science known to men. Thousands of years ago, men looked at the stars and wondered about the heavens（苍穹）.

The Greeks studied astronomy over 2, 000 years ago. They could see the size, color and brightness of a star. They could see its place in the sky. They watched the stars move as the seasons changed. But the Greeks had no tools to help them study the heavens. Each new tool added to the field of astronomy helped men reach out into space. Until there were telescopes, men did not know much about the moon. They did not know that the planet called Saturn（土星）had rings around it. Their sight was so limited that they could not see all the planets. In the early 1700s people thought there were only six planets. Pluto（冥王星）, the last of the nine plane nets to be discovered was not seen until 1930.

Before the spectroscopes（分光镜）, men didn't know what kind of gas was in the sun or other stars. Without radio telescopes（射电望远镜）, we did not know that radio noise came far from space. 

Today, astronomy is a growing science. We have learned more in the past fifty years than in the whole history of astronomy.

According to a latest report, a few schools in China are using a kind of very special uniform to watch their students' daily life and stop them from playing truant (旷课).

Such uniforms have tracking chips (追踪芯片) in them which can record the time and date a student enters the school and a short video parents can see through a mobile app.

Once a student doesn't have class without asking for leave, an alarm will be caused to tell both teachers and parents. And a voice alarm will go off as long as a student leaves school without being allowed. A GPS system also follows a student's movements once he has left the school.

Eleven schools in Guizhou have used the uniforms which are developed by Guizhou Guanyu Technology. But the company's project manager said the school wouldn't use the tracking system during out-of-school hours. The project manager said that fewer and fewer students had been absent since the uniforms were used in some schools.

However, the uniforms have been criticized (批评) on social media. "If you were a child, would you like to be watched 24 hours a day?" one Weibo user asked. "Don't children have human rights and privacy?" added another user.

A headmaster in Guizhou said that although teachers were able to track students at all times, they did not use this technology often.

"We choose not to check the position of students after school, but when the students are missing and playing truant, the uniforms help to find out where they are," the headmaster said.

Free time is a good chance for teenagers to have fun. What about free time with parents around? Some teenagers want free play time without their parents' supervision (监管) while parents and experts may think differently.

Lin Tao, a middle school student, thinks teenagers should be free to play. "Last time I played with my parents around. I was nervous and just couldn't enjoy myself," Lin says. "And my friend Chen Xiaoxin has similar experiences. Once, he went out to play with his classmates. Everyone felt uncomfortable under his mother's supervision."

Wang Min, a mother of a 14-year-old boy, thinks playtime needs supervision. She explains, "People usually say I like to control my kid, but that's not true. I am just worried that he will get into trouble. Some guys may have a bad influence on him and some games may mislead (误导) him. He might even get indulged in the games and can't get back to real life."

Mr Ma, a doctor of social studies, says it's understandable for teenagers to wish for freedom. Free play helps them to be independent. Parents can give them more space. They don't have to supervise them all the time. However, teenagers should find out the exact details (细节) about the activities before playtime. Then they can communicate with their parents and decide together whether they can go out to play alone.

Last week, I talked with a mother of a young teenager in my class. She was telling me how 1 it was for her son at school, because he was always in an old school uniform that didn't fit him. Since her husband and she both 2 their jobs, they couldn't afford(买得起)a new one. She told me that she was slowly trying to buy a(n) 3 shirt, then trousers, then shoes.

I knew that she didn't want to ask for help. She 4 asked for anything from me. She was just telling me the honest truth. I went to the 5 to take out some money. Then I put it into her pocket and told her to just go and 6 the uniform, and not to tell anyone I did this but her husband.

I also made it clear to her that nothing was 7 — no payback. "It's a gift. Take it, and I can enjoy 8 , and that is all I need right now. " I told her she was doing me a favor. She felt too 9 to speak and we hugged. I really just felt happy that her boy wouldn't continue to be 10 for his old uniform. I know what that is like, and as a victim(受害者)of school bullying when young, I can say for sure it hurts for a long time. I felt so good to be able to do this!

One day Mr. and Mrs. Wilson and their  (child) were going to start their holiday, and they had to be at the  (airport) at eleven forty in the morning. "It will take us one and a half  (hour) to get there by car," Mr. Wilson said, "so we all have to be ready by ten o' clock. Nobody should be late."

At ten minutes to ten they were still all running around doing  (thing), except Mrs. Wilson. She was sitting quietly on a chair in the garden enjoying the sun. Her (husband) and children were surprised that she wasn't in a  (hurry).

When they sat in the car, Mrs. Wilson said to them, "Well, I knew that this was going to happen, so before I went to  (bed) last night, I moved all the (clock) ahead twenty  (minute). So now we can go to the  (airport) quietly without worrying about being late."

In a beautiful celebration of friendship, four childhood friends got together to recreate (再现) a valuable photo from their first holiday together more than 50 years ago.

Carol Ansbro, Marion Bamforth, Susan Morris, and Mary Helliwell have been friends  primary school. They  to the seaside town of Torquay, where they had a vacation in 1972.

"We always said, when we were younger, that one day we would go back to Torquay," Carolsaid. "And  we were reaching 70, we decided to finally go. Then Susan decided she'd love to recreate the  that we took when we were 17."

Back then, as , the group stayed in a tent. They enjoyed the excitement of being on their own for the first time. "I felt really  to be a grown-up," recalled Susan, now a grandmother of five.

They had difficulty  the place where they took the photo, as the white building had been pulled down. Luckily, a helpful hotel worker guided  to the exact location, with the same bridge in the background.

The group described recreating the photograph as a  moving experience. "It truly was a touching moment," shared Marion. "I still can't  it actually happened."

"We were nearly in tears," added Mary, now a grandmother of four.

Really good musical works (作品) will not be forever.
