Every student knows the importance of taking notes in class. But not every student knows how to take good notes. Here are some tips (建议) to help you develop this important skill.

Begin with the date and the topic (话题) of the class. It will help you keep your notes organized (有条理的).

Write down the most important points. Trying to write down everything the speaker says will only make you feel tired. Instead, write down the key ideas of the speaker.

If the speaker uses a PowerPoint (幻灯片), you can ask if you can copy the PowerPoint before or after the class or meeting. Then print it out so you can write notes on it. Or you can take a picture with a phone.

Think about whether you want to take notes by hand or with a computer. Taking notes by hand helps you remember things better. But with a computer, notes are easier to organize (组织).

Look over your notes again after taking them. This will give you the chance to add any information that you didn't write down. It's best to do this as soon as possible, so that you don't forget anything. It also helps you remember what you wrote.

My best friend is Zhang Lin. She is a Chinese girl. She is one year (old) than me. We live in the same city. We (get) to know each other when we were very young. Zhang Lin is a talented girl. She can do many things. She is good singing and dancing. She is a kind girl. When her (friend) have difficulties, they ask her for help. She always (try) her best to help them. School students have to do homework and study for tests. They don't have much free time on weekdays. They often do chores on weekends.

Young kids only do easy chores. So they don't get much money. But that's enough. Many of them only want to buy candy. And candy is cheap! They often help do the dishes, sweep the floor, or feed the pet cat or dog.

When they get older, they want to buy more and more things. They want things that are more expensive than candy. So they have to work harder! They often help their parents wash the family car, cut the grass, or cook meals.

Some jobs are a good way for kids to learn new things. For example, they can learn how to use a lawn mower or how to cook. Of course, their parents help them at first.

Cindy: I think a good friend should be honest. That's more important than any other thing. And it is where a real friendship starts. If a person isn't honest, he may lose his friends' trust (信任).

Jerry: I think a good friend has to be generous (慷慨的). Here being generous doesn't mean he has to give his friends money or clothes. It means he should share his ideas and feelings with his friends. In fact, his friends can know him better in this way.

Mary: In my opinion, a good friend should understand his friends. When there's something wrong between him and his friends, he must put himself in his friends' place and think more of his friends.

Last winter, I went to America with my family. Our last stop was California. My aunt drove us to a park to ski (滑雪). When I got off the car, I was5 because it was my first time to see6.
