"Have you ever imagined what your life will be like in the future? Do you want to talk to your future self? A new online chat app called Future You has made this possible, " reported MITNews in October.
Future You was made by scientists from the US. Using AI, the programme begins by asking you questions about your looks, lives and future plans. AI then uses all of these to make a model of you at the age of 60. You can ask this older"you" questions and get to know how to be better for the future.
The app can even show you a picture of what you might look like when you are 60. A scientist from MIT, Patic Maes, saysFuture You is very detailed and makes the future"you"seem very real. The people who made Future You say it helps people think about the long term by making them feel more joined with their future self. The more you feel, the better decisions you'll be able to make for your future, like saving money or studying hard.
Scientists tested Future You with 344 people. Those who talked to Future You for 10 to 30 minutes felt less worried and more excited about the future than those who just filled out surveys.
However, Future You has some limits(限制). "It's not clear if people really change their actions after talking to their future self, "Ivo Vlaev from the UK's University of Warwick says. "Also, the AI can only show one possible future, not many different ones. "

Everybody knows that words can carry messages. People communicate with words. Books, magazines, TV, radio and films all help us to communicate with others. They all help us to know what is going on around the world and what other people are thinking about.
Do you think you can communicate without words? A smile on your face shows you are happy or friendly. Tears in your eyes tell others that you are probably sad. When you put up your hand in class, the teacher knows you want to say something or ask a question. You shake your head and people know you are saying"No". You nod and people know you are saying"Yes".
Other things can also carry messages. For example, a sign at the bus stop helps you to know which bus to take. A sign on the wall of your school helps you to find the library.
Signs on doors tell you where to go in or out. And an arrow(箭头) is often used to show people directions. It's 2054. I'm sitting in my room, looking at the screen in front of me for a long time. A small sound breaks the quietness. It's a new message from Mia, my best friend for as long as I can remember.
"Hey, have you seen the news? The sea water is going up faster than we thought. My family is moving north next week. "
I take a deep breath and answer on the screen, "Yeah too. "

A programme shows the sea water is going up and covering all the neighbourhoods. It's hard to believe that this is the world we live in now.

As we pack our bags, another message comes in from Mia. Her family is also planning how to build their new home. They' ll plant trees with the people who live there. That gives me hope. Maybe all the families moving north will build a new future, different from the past.
