Many animals have tails. They use their tails to do many different things. Some animals use their tails as flyswatter (苍蝇拍). Have you ever seen a cow shake its tail back and forth? It's driving away the flies. Horses also use their tails in the same way.

Some animals hang by their tails. Monkeys often do this. Then they can use all four of their paws (爪子) for other things, such as eating. Monkeys use their tails as a "hanger", which can help them hang in the trees and climb trees. Animals that live in the water use their tails to help them swim. A fish uses its tail from side to side. A kangaroo has a large, useful tail. It's like a chair. The kangaroo stands on its tail to rest. It helps the kangaroo stand well, too. The tail is also good for landing. This is important because an adult kangaroo can jump as far as 15 feet at a time. A fox has a big tail. This is a good tail to have on cold nights. The fox can put its tail over its nose and paws while it is sleeping. The tail can keep the fox warm.

Some animals don't keep their tails with them all the time. If their enemies (敌人) catch them, their tails will break off. Don't worry. They will soon grow a new tail. How amazing it is!

At lunchtime, I ended up sitting by myself until I met three new girls—Mia, Emma, and Alexis. They were so friendly, and soon, I started feeling more peaceful around them. As the days passed, I spent more time with them, and slowly, school didn't seem so bad.

One day, we had a great idea: we decided to start a cupcake club! Everyone would add something different to the group. I've always loved baking (烘焙), so I was excited to join. Together, we planned to bake cupcakes and sell them to raise money for the school. This means we wanted to collect money by selling the cupcakes.

Through the cupcake club, I found my own place in middle school. I learned that being true to myself was important. I felt happy and confident, knowing that with the support of my new friends, I could face any problems that came my way.

Beijing Guozijian was an imperial college (皇家学院). It has a history of over 700 years. It's enjoyable to visit the old buildings there. There are also a large number of books. And Guozijian is famous for its old trees. Some of them are about 700 years old.

Dingsheng Cake is a pink coloured cake. There is red bean paste(红豆沙)(在里面). The (甜) of it can impress many people. Because of the word"Ding Sheng" on the cake, it is a symbol of success. Last year, our teacher(准备) Dingsheng cake for us just before(最 后 的) exams. To make the snack more(著名的), I think we can let people know the(意义) of eating it.

Pian Er Chuan is a popular Hangzhou noodle. The best PianEr Chuan has (新鲜的) cabbage and bamboo shoots in it. Most people will fall in love with it at the first try. At(最少) once a month, I enjoy a (碗)of it at Kuiyuan Noodle Restaurant. I think we can make some short videos of people cooking this noodle and put them online.

People in Hangzhou know Cong Bao Hui well. It is said that they were so angry with Qin Hui that they made this snack in the shape of him. You can buy it cheaply at stalls(小摊) around the city. It is a good idea to(邀请) more people to experience making Cong Bao Hui by themselves. 

Chinese dishes are very different in the north and south. But there is one traditional kind of dish that is common in most  of China. It is baozi. 

Baozi is usually filled with vegetables or meat, with a soft flour shell(面粉外壳) outside. It is made in different sizes. is xiaolongbao. Each one comes in a bite-sized form. 

The fillings of baozi are also different. In the south, many people put sweet fillings such as sugar in baozi. Some baozi even have soup inside like steamed juicy buns(灌汤包). Last summer vacation, I went to Guangdong and  the delicious food. First, I dug a hole and then sucked(吸) the soup before eating it. I will never forget this wonderful experience. 

 most baozi are steamed, some are cooked in a different way. Shuijianbao is fried. People love crispy shell and golden colour. 

Do you make New Year's resolutions every year? Were you able to keep them? Lily and I always make resolutions together, 1 we usually can't keep them. This year, we decided to do better. We made a 2 of things we would do every day. 

On the first day of the week, I went to the kitchen at 6:00 a. m.

Cooking way:

To make daoxiao noodles, hold the dough(面团) in one hand, and use a knife in the other hand to slice the noodles into a pot of boiling water.

During the Yuan Dynasty, people in Shanxi didn't have enough

metal wares(金属制品), including knives, for cooking.They had to take turns(轮流) to use the knife when making dinners. 

One day, a wife asked her husband to borrow the knife so that she could make noodles. At the time the knife was being used by another family. So the man had to return home and wait. On the way back, the man found a thin piece of sheet iron(铁皮).

When he returned home, the water was boiling. The man felt worried coming back without the knife. All of a sudden, he thought of the sheet iron.

"No, I can't, " his wife said. The man told her to slice the dough instead of cutting it. Holding the dough and the sheet iron, the wife sliced the dough into the boiling water. The moment the family took their first bite, they were surprised at how chewy(有嚼劲的) the noodles were.
