One morning, I saw an advertisement for Shackleton's Antarctic expedition (南极探险). It was my dream adventure(冒险).  But Shackleton refused me because I was too young. I secretly hid on his ship named Endurance and was discovered three days later. Luckily, he let me stay and now I work as a cook. I am so excited to finally join my dream adventure.

Above are some of Blackborow's diary entries. Finally they were all saved. They were full of joy and relief. Their trust in Shackleton had kept them alive, and he kept his promise to save all the people. It was such an unusual and unforgettable experience in their life.

Are you interested in kuaiban? The clapper beat is used in theatre shows as well as in teaching school children rhymes and verse(韵文).

To introduce the historical situation, Lao She used shulaibao in his famous play Teahouse.Shulaibao is a traditional art form of rhythmic storytelling and it was usually performed by street performers. Over time, it grew into a popular art form and gave rise to another performing art called kuaiban.

Kuaiban can be performed by one person alone, in pairs or in groups. The works include history,artworks and everyday life. Some pieces are very short, with just a few lines while others can last ten to fifteen minutes. There are even performances similar to pingshu, which can be told over several days.

Performers usually stand while performing kuaiban, using a set of clappers to create strong rhythms. Generally, the larger clapper, made up of two bamboo pieces, is held in the right hand,while the smaller one, with five pieces, is held in the left hand. With slight changes in hand position,actors are able to produce all kinds  of sounds. They also use humorous facial expressions and movements of hands to draw people's attention.

For many young Chinese, kuaiban is just another tradition lost to pop culture. However, many kuaiban artists are working hard to develop the art form in different ways. Among them is Mr Zhao,an inheritor (传承人) from Hebei Province. Based on local stories, he has created many new and meaningful works. To spread the culture, he has also given free training classes and taught kuaiban skills through live streaming. Thanks to Zhao and other performers, kuaiban is still shining brightly and will continue to be successful in the future.

Did you know that horses use more than 800 different facial expressions to communicate? Like humans, horses are highly social animals. They don't use words, but they do"talk" a lot.They show their feelings through their faces. If you learn to"read" a horse, you can often tell how it feels.

Let's start with the ears. A horse's ears are like little mood antennas(天线). When they hold flat back, it can mean"I'm angry" or"Back off". If they rest to the side, the horse is usually happy and relaxed.

 If a horse looks at you with big, wide eyes, it is probably scared. Perhaps it hears a sudden sound or sees something unfamiliar. Sometimes you can even see more of the white part of its eyes. That's a common sign of fear. That's when it feels safe.

You might think this is easy. But reading a horse's facial expressions means thinking like a horse. A big toothy smile means happiness for humans.

So how do we get along with horses? Just put yourself in their shoes. It is not easy, but at least you can start with one simple rule—— move calmly, speak softly, and give them enough space.

Are you tired of doing ? Imagine a life without folding clothes or carrying heavy bags. That life is here with NEO. NEO is the first"humanoid"robot for home use

NEO  to fit into your house. It looks just like a human. It stands 1.6meters tall and  only 30 kilograms. Because it is shaped like a person, it can work with you like a friend. For example, it can carry heavy shopping bags home together with you.

NEO is smart and helpful. It can clean surfaces and do most of the housework. It can even make simple  with guests at the door. What's more, it's easy to control because NEO uses modernAI and  voice orders. You can say,"NEO, clean the table." The robot hears your voice and then does it right away.

Can you guess where I am? I'm in China's Tiangong Space Station, about400 kilometers above Earth! I'm not alone, though. I share my tiny"apartment"with two males and another female.

Six Chinese astronauts take turns caring for us. Three of them-Zhang Lu,Wu Fei and Zhang Hongzhang-came up with us. Last night, we excitedly boarded the Shenzhou-21 spacecraft. The trip took just a little over three hours, and it was surprisingly smooth. As far as Iknow, this is already China's 16th crewed spaceflight. However, for us mice, it's a whole new world!

The astronauts taught me some scientific knowledge here. That's so amazing! In the  1600s,Isaac Newton discovered that gravity (重力) depends on mass (质量) and distance. Bigger objects,like the sun, pull harder, and the further the object is from Earth, the lesser is the pull of gravity.However, the mass of an object remains the same. Also, the gravitational potential energy (重力势能)of an object depends on its mass and its height from the ground. When two objects have the same mass, the object that is at a greater height has more gravitational potential energy. However, if the two objects are at the same height, the object with a greater mass has more gravitational potential energy.

Now, I'm aboard Tiangong, I plan to make every minute count. We' ll stay here for about a week. After that, we' ll fly back to Earth. Scientists will then study how our bodies may have changed.

After weeks of Spring Festival celebrations, we will soon welcome Lantern Festival. This year, it  (fall) on March 3.

The Lantern Festival dates back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) and became  national celebration during the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Winter may feel cold, but it also brings the exciting Winter Olympics. From big jumps to super-fast races, athletes do their best to make new records.

On a highway, a small car can go up to 120 kilometers per hour.  It's like a roller coaster on ice. The skeleton sled (钢架雪车) is made of light metal. It has two thin runners under it. The racer lies face down on it. The racer shoots head-first down an ice road with sharp turns. Whee!

Snow boarders ride down a snowy mountain. They jump into the air and do amazing tricks such as circles and turns.  In October 2025, he completed a difficult move called the "back-to-back1980s". He was the first person in the world to do it.

Skaters lean (倾斜) very low when they turn. Their hands can even touch the ice. Why don't they fall?  To stay balanced, they must lean into the turn. Their bodies can be lower than 45 degrees-almost like they're lying on their side! Leaning also stops other skaters from passing them.

In curling (冰壶运动), one player pushes a heavy stone across the ice.  Why sweep? First, sweeping warms the ice. The ice on top turns in to water, so the stone can slide farther and more smoothly.  The players who sweep are called sweepers. They sweep very fast. Top sweepers can brush the ice about 10 times per second. Their sweeping warms the ice by about 2.3 degree.

A team of clever engineers, data scientists and nature scientists are restoring wild areas hit by natural disasters. By using drones (无人机) together with artificial intelligence (AI), they can plant seeds 25 times more quickly than doing it by hand. AI is a computer system that can "think" and perform tasks usually requiring human intelligence.

In a foreign country, flooding and wildfires are becoming more common as the climate changes. Extreme weather (极端天气) can make whole living areas disappear in a short time, and it takes years for trees to grow back and ecosystems to recover. When disasters happen, people often replant by hand, but this is slow and difficult.

AirSeed uses AI-controlled drones to airdrop special seed parcels (种子包裹). Each seed parcel is designed to fit its drop area. The place is recorded — geo-tagging — so people can check the task's success. Andrew Walker, AirSeed's boss, says, "We have to restore forests over 30-40 years. We can't do that with traditional ways."

This mix of AI, drones and biotechnology helps reforest faster. AirSeed can drop as many as 40,000 seed parcels a day — 25 times faster and 80% cheaper than hand-planting. When trees return, everything else improves. Walker says, "It's not just about planting a tree. Trees support wildlife, make air clean and restore soil."

Nick is a very clever boy and he can learn everything quickly. He thought what the teacher taught in the class wasn't useful. It was a Monday morning. As the teacher, Mr. Li, walked into the classroom with books in his hands, he heard a low voice, "Here's the teacher. I'm sure this boring person is going to talk about how to use commas(逗号). I know how to use them."

It was a boy's voice and the teacher knew who he was.

However, the teacher didn't get irritated. He said nothing about it, but really began to talk about how to use commas. The students listened very carefully. Then he wrote the following sentence on the blackboard, "Nick says the teacher is a boring fellow."

The class laughed and Nick's face turned red.

Dolphins often jump out of the waves and turn in the air. It looks like fun, but it's also hard work. So why do they do it? Scientists have found several reasons.

Dolphins live in groups and use sound to stay in touch. Underwater, it's hard to see far, so when a dolphin jumps and hits the water, the loud noise tells others where it is. Some can turn up to seven times in one jump!

Jumping also helps with hunting and cleaning. The splash (水花) can-drive fish together, making them easier to catch. And when small fish called remoras (鲫鱼) stick to dolphins, a good jump can knock them off.

Besides these practical reasons, dolphins are smart and playful. They may jump just for fun, sometimes playing with other animals or even humans.

Finally, water creates drag — a force that slows things down. Jumping into the air lets dolphins travel faster, helping them get away from danger or catch food. They can jump as high as a giraffe, up to six metres!

So next time you see a dolphin jump, remember: it might be talking, hunting, cleaning, playing, or just having a good time.

Sita had always known her mother was a wonderful cook. One day, she saw an old notebook hidden in the kitchen. Curiously, she opened it. It was full of handwritten recipes (食谱), but the1 beside each one — small stories and notes — caught her eye.

"Mom, what's this?" Sita asked, holding up the notebook.

"Ah, that's my 2 recipe book," she said. "It holds recipes from my mother and grandmother — all kinds of traditional dishes given to each generation."

Sita's eyes widened. "Why didn't you ever tell me about this?"

Her mother smiled. "Well, now that you're 3 , maybe it's time for you to learn some of these."
