The Terracotta Warriors lies in the north-west of China, near the city of Xi'an. It is a famous historical site and known for its great cultural significance（重要性）.
It is all made of clay, a special kind of earth, and it is as hard as stones. Each figure is different and they all have different facial expressions（表情）. Yet visitors are warned not to touch the terracotta figures to protect them.
In the past, people practiced ancient ceremonies and rituals（仪式）there. The emperor buried himself with all the things he would need in the afterlife（后世）, including food, weapons（武器）, and even replicas（复制品）of his palace. This shows the deep cultural beliefs and practices of ancient Chinese.
