Mia was born in Ruian, a small city in southeast China. In her hometown, when spring comes, people eat qingtuan--a special Spring[snæk]. Qingtuan is a green rice dumpling made with mugwort(艾草). People in Ruian often fill it with bamboo shoots(竹笋), meat or white radish (白萝卜). It is very[dɪˈlɪʃəs]. 

Eating Qingtuan is not  [dʒʌst] about enjoying food—it carries deep meanings. Many people (认为，相信) it means new life and the coming of spring. For some families, making and enjoying Qingtuan together are happy(某一时刻) during the festival. 

There was a young boy named Jack. He always 1 to be a football player. However, when he was 13, he got a heart problem and he knew he couldn't play the 2 .

For me, exams aren't just about looking at what I've learned -they're also a time to improve my study skills.

Before an exam, I go over what I've learned by looking at the textbook's table of contents(目录). I also practice different types of questions. In the last 10 minutes before the exam, I do a few simple problems to build up my confidence.

During the exam, I focus on(集中在) answering each question carefully. I also see it as a time to practice working under pressure(压力). I always plan how to use my time for each part of the exam and decide the best order to answer the questions. With more practice, I found a best way for me to take exams.

After the exam, I take time to think about how I did. I look at my mistakes and work out where I went wrong. I like to write down what I learned in an "exam notebook" and read it before the next exam. It reminds me of my past mistakes. By following these steps, I can get the most out of every exam.

At the end of 2023, Hefei held a marathon. Among so many runners, an elderly couple caught the attention (注意) of many. They were 86-year-old Hu Yingfu and 77-year-old Wang Zhangmin. Hu finished the half marathon in 2 hours and 21 minutes, and his wife, Wang finished in 2 hours and 23 minutes.

In fact, this wasn't the first time that the couple had taken part in a running race. In 1997, the couple joined a running community(社区). At first, they started running to keep fit. But over time, they found it was a relaxing sport and became more interested in it. In 2004, they took part in a race for the elderly. And to their surprise, Wang won the fourth place.

In April 2011, the couple successfully finished their first half marathon in Yangzhou. In December of the same year, they finished the full marathon in Shanghai. At that time, Hu was 74 years old, and Wang was 65.

Since then, the couple have started their "marathon journey". Over the next ten years, they have taken part in races across the country every year. And they have completed more than 100 marathon races.

For years, they have been running 10,000 meters every day. They have covered over 40,000 kilometers and won more than 200 medals in many sports events.Through running, the couple have made friends with other runners. And influenced by them, more and more young people have joined the running community.

My father, Peter, used to be a cheerful and carefree man. However, he had three bad years after divorcing my mother. He often felt sad and lost.

One morning, my dad thought to himself, "I'm not going to have another bad year." So he made small but important changes in his life. He started to play happy music every morning, went back to school to learn new skills and found a better job. He also started doing exercise and spent a lot of time with his friends. Slowly, he became happier again.

As a young teenager, I learned an important lesson from him: Happiness is a choice. It doesn't come from trying to make other people pleased. It comes from the things we do every day. A happy life is built on positive experiences that make us feel fulfilled（有成就感的）. In fact, there are also many other ways to be happier.

• Spend time with loved ones. Being close to family and friends is one of the best ways to feel happy. You can try spending time with your friends or parents.

• Get enough sleep. Studies show that sleeping 7 to 9 hours each night helps improve mood.

• Stay active. You don't need long workouts—even 15 minutes of exercise a day can make you feel better.

• Help others. Doing kind things like helping a classmate or being volunteers brings joy.

Remember: Happiness doesn't just happen. It's something we create through our actions. Just like my father, we can choose to make each day brighter!
