Mount Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the world. Its height was measured as 8,848.86 metres in 2020. Climbing it is very dangerous because of cold temperatures, thin air and changeable weather. Before 1960, no one reached the top from the northern side, which was called the "Death Road".

In 1960, a Chinese team finally succeeded. They helped each other—Liu Lianman let his teammates step on his shoulders to get past the Second Step. In 1975, another Chinese team brought a ladder there, which helped many climbers later. People climb Qomolangma because of curiosity and ambition.
