Do you know how cows, chickens and other farm animals ended up living side by side with humans? It wasn't always this way! Thousands of years ago, these animals were wild. But over time, humans found out these animals could help with farming, provide(提供) food and even be great friends. 

Cows travelled a lot on grassy plains long before becoming the cute grass eaters we know today. Around 10, 000 years ago, humans started taming(驯化) them in places like Türkiye andIndia. Then cows became important for milk, meat and even ploughing(耕) fields. 

Horses were one of the fastest animals in the wild. Around 6, 000 years ago, humans inCentral Asia thought, "Hey, maybe we can ride these!" So, they started taming horses, not only for riding but also to pull carts(运货马车) and ploughs. Horses quickly became our friends for transport(运输) and farming. 

Humans tamed chickens around 8, 000 years ago in Southeast Asia primarily(主要地) for their eggs and meat. These birds are easy to keep on farms. They can turn seeds into delicious eggs in no time. 

Rabbits weren't farm animals until about 1, 500 years ago when the French began taming them for their fur and meat. Their lovely nature makes them popular as both farm animals and pets. 

Last vacation, I went to New York. And I (have) great fun there. 

Day 1

I went to New York  my family on vacation. It was (sun)and warm here. Everything (be) so great! People call New York"the city that never sleeps". Another popular name for it is"the Big Apple". First we went to Central Park. It was really wonderful. Then we went to Times Square. 

Day 2

We went to the Empire State Building(帝国大厦), which is 381 metres high. We went right up to  top and looked out across New York. beautiful it was! After that I bought the biggest hamburger I had ever seen! After lunch we went (shop). Although it is a big city, you won't see (someone) get lost, because most of the (street) have numbers. For example, if you are in 34th Street, it's easy (find) 35th Street. It was really interesting. 

①I'm Robert and I live in Shanghai now. Last weekend, I went to a village for a vacation with my friends. 

②My trip started early in the morning at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. After more than three hours on the plane to Yunnan and two hours on the bus, I arrived at the village near Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. It is very small and only 300 people live there, next to a lake and forests. 

③I stayed with my host family for two days, and the family members were friendly to me. They had a daughter called Li Fang and she showed me around their garden(菜园) and told me how to grow vegetables. I also went to a bamboo(竹子) forest with Li Fang's grandpa. Then we went to the lake to go fishing. In the evening, we had a big dinner together. At dinner, I tasted the real steamed chicken soup, which was really delicious. 

④The next day I woke up with the song of birds. After breakfast, we went to work on the farm all day. I learned much about farm work. It was hard but very interesting. That evening, I came back to Shanghai. 

⑤The trip was only two days, but it made me relax from the busy life. And it was a great time together with my host family.

I always try not to do housework at home, sometimes I have to. It is really something that I dislike. But now I find a few (way) of making it interesting. Maybe some of these ideas can also help you enjoy your housework. 

Invite your friends over for dinner. This is (me) favourite way. Everyone likes to go to a clean house. By (invite) friends to your home, you'd like to do the chores. We all know that a clean house can make people (feel) happy. A clean house is part of a (comfort) party. 

Listen to music and sing—— it seems that I never have time to enjoy my favourite music. So sometimes I use my mobile phone (listen) to music while doing housework. If you like singing, do it. You will find that you finish the housework (easy) before you know it. 

Give yourself  gift. You can go to see a movie  you finish your housework. Plan to do something that makes you feel good. 

Hi! I'm Lily. I'm 11 and I have a younger 1 , Tom. He is 8. My family and I 2 in a big house. 

My mum is a nurse, and she works in a 3 . She 4 hard, and she usually works at night. She doesn't have enough time to do 5 , so my dad often does chores. My 6 works in a bank. He arrives home early, at about 5 p. m. , 7 he can do a lot of things at home. 

In the morning, Mum makes 8 . Tom and I make our beds. Then Dad 9 us to school in his car. Every evening, Dad 10 dinner. My brother and I help him. After dinner, Dad does the dishes and I help him dry them. Then we take a shower and Dad reads us short stories. 

On Saturday, we clean the house. I clean the furniture(家具) and Dad sweeps the floor. Tom 11 the rubbish and waters the plants. Dad likes cleaning the windows but he 12 folding the clothes. He 13 does it. My grandma often comes to our home and 14 folds our clothes. 

On Sunday, we wash the car together. Dad often takes us to play in the park and eat out in our 15 restaurant.
