Buddy Ball is a program. It offers help to disabled (残疾的) kids. My friend Ally and I spend a few hours every week  volunteers (志愿者) there.

Charities in Our City

There are many great charities in our city. They have helped thousands of people since they were set up. One of the most famous charities is Hope Charity. It was set up in 2005 and it focuses on helping poor students.

Hope Charity provides free school bags, books and stationery for students from poor families. It also gives scholarships to excellent students who can't afford their school fees. Every year, the charity organizes a charity run to raise money. Many people join the run, and the money raised is all used to help the students.

Another charity is Love Charity. It helps the elderly and the homeless. It gives them free food, clothes and a place to live. Volunteers from the charity go to the street every week to help the homeless people. They also visit the old people's home and look after the elderly there.

These charities make our city a warmer place. We should support them and do what we can to help others.

A Circle of Kindness

It was a cold winter morning. Amy was on her way to school when she saw an old man standing by the road. He was wearing thin clothes and shivering with cold. His hands were red from the low temperature, and he looked very weak. Amy felt sorry for him.

"Grandpa, are you okay?" Amy asked gently. The old man looked up and smiled weakly. "I'm waiting for my son, but he hasn't come yet. I didn't expect the weather to be so cold," he said. Amy thought for a moment and took off her scarf. "Here, put this on. It will keep you warm," she said. The old man was moved and thanked her repeatedly.

After school, Amy told her mother about the old man. Her mother praised her for her kindness and said, "We should always help those in need. A small act of kindness can make a big difference." Inspired by her daughter, Amy's mother decided to prepare some warm clothes and food for the old man.

The next day, Amy and her mother went to the same place. The old man was still there, but this time he looked much better. He told them that his son had finally come and he was very grateful for their help. He also said that he wanted to pass on the kindness. Later, he donated all his extra clothes to a homeless shelter.

This experience made Amy realize that kindness is like a circle. When you give it to others, it will come back to you in some way. We should always be ready to lend a helping hand, because even the smallest kindness can warm the world.
