Q1: What did you do when watching the videos?

Zhang Peng: . Thanks to their speaking style, I remembered almost everything they said about their experiences and achievements. 

Q2: 

Zhang Peng: These videos are very helpful. They make me want to know more about ancient people. When I watch it, I feel like I am walking through the history and talking with the ancient people. 

Q3: Any advice for other video users?

Zhang Peng: It's really interesting to watch ancient people speak for themselves in a modern way.  Make sure they are not sharing fake（假的）information. 

Thank you for your sharing. Every coin has two sides. These videos might bring us some convenience and problems. We should view these videos reasonably and make full use of their advantages.

① Have you ever felt sleepy after a big meal? This feeling is commonly known as a food coma. Unlike a real coma where people feel unconscious（昏迷的），a food coma simply makes you feel very tired for a short time.

①Do you enjoy watching acrobatics（杂    技）? This traditional Chinese acrobatics is one of China's oldest performing arts, with a history of over 2, 000 years! It first became popular during the Han Dynasty and reached its peak（巅峰）in the Tang Dynasty. 

②Today, China is famous as the" Home of the World's Best Acrobatics. " Chinese acrobatic troupes（剧    团）have won many international prizes. To achieve their amazing moves, acrobats（杂技演员）spend years training their waist（腰）and leg strength. Their performances often mix balance, flexibility, and teamwork, making audiences（观众）hold their breath. 

③So what makes Chinese acrobatics special? Chinese acrobatics is just like a basket that can hold all kinds of art forms. A great example is the acrobatic ballet" Swan Lake". It perfectly mixes dance and acrobatics to create a magical show that is praised around the world. Now, Chinese acrobatics continues to improve by mixing traditional arts like Peking Opera and modern styles like tap dance. 

④Among China's many talented acrobats, Sun Lili stands out. At 74, this great performer from the China Acrobatic Troupe has won over 60 gold medals in her 50-year career. In 2024, she made history by receiving the" Lifetime Achievement Award" at the Budapest International Circus Festival, the first acrobat to earn this honor in 30 years. 

⑤Sun thinks the secret to acrobatics' success lies in creativity. "We keep creating new acts to surprise our audience, " she says. She hopes that Chinese acrobatics will continue to develop and break through, bringing people more joy in the future. Through hard work and new ideas, this ancient art remains a bright star shining in China's cultural sky. 

(In difficult times, art can bring hope and happiness to people's lives. Colleen Wall, an artist, paints beautiful murals（壁画）in hospitals to help patients feel better Her goal is to give them a "window view" of nature, allowing them to imagine being in peaceful, sunny places instead of hospital rooms. 

Colleen first became interested in this work in 1995 when she had cancer（癌症）herself. After getting better, she decided to help other patients through art. One day, while volunteering at a hospital, she cheerfully told a patient, "It's such a beautiful day outside!" The patient sadly replied, "It always looks the same from here. " This conversation deeply moved Colleen and inspired her to start her project——"A View for a Room. " She wanted to change hospital rooms by creating paintings that looked like windows to nature. 

After raising enough money for her project, Colleen created 20 large paintings. Each one shows lovely natural views like forests, beaches, and country roads. The paintings also have uplifting messages like "Stay Strong" and" Hope Heals" to cheer patients up Doctors say that looking at nature pictures can actually help people feel less pain and get better, making Colleen's work even more meaningful. 

Last November, Colleen painted her murals on walls at Roswell Park Cancer Center in New York. "Being in hospital for a long time can make people feel lonely, " Colleen explained. "My paintings help them feel like they' re outside enjoying nature. " Many patients say the colorful murals make their rooms brighter and happier. For Colleen, this work is special because she understands what patients are going through. "I want to share the same hope that helped me when I was sick, " she says.

Road safety is important for every student.

In the past ten years, great progress has been made in technology. It seems like everything has been reinvented(改造) and greatly improved.  It was invented over 100 years ago but remained unchanged until now. I'm talking about a blind walking stick.

 However, it has seen no real improvement, until a blind engineer named Kursat decided to make a difference. He hoped his invention would help the blind.

He invented a smart stick called the WeWalk. The smart stick uses built-in speakers, and different sensors(传感器) to warn about possible dangers. It helps blind people in navigating(导航) around their environment using modern technology, which makes their travel much easier. The stick is priced at around $500. It is less than half the price of most smart phones. Most people can afford it. 

Kursat well understands the difficulties and challenges that the blind face. That's because he is blind himself. He decided to put his technical knowledge into inventing something that would not only change his life, but also the life of many others.

"In these days, we are talking about flying cars.  As a blind person, when I am at the metro station, I don't know which is my exit. I don't know which bus is coming or which stores are around me. Now, that kind of information can be provided by the WeWalk," he said. "I believe life of the blind will be much easier and safer."

This is Tammela School, a primary school in Finland. The students are having a math class with their robot teacher.

The "teacher" is small, blue machine about 25cm high, Reuters reported. Whenever students have problems, it helps them very (patient) and never gets bored.

"The robot can make students (active) in class than usual. I see Elias as one of the (tool) to get different kinds of practice and activities into the classroom," a teacher told Reuters.

Harbin,a city in the northeast of China,drew great attention and became the hottest tourist city last winter.In fact,on January 5th every year,the city of Harbin in northeast Chinainto a winter wonderland.Tourists from all around the world come to visit the ice and snow festival.

The festival started in 1963 and began as a winter party.The festival often lasts for one month.However,if the weather stays cold and dry, it for a few more days .Temperatures are usually very low.They can go down to-17℃. Ice sculptors(雕塑家)use different tools to shape the hard ice and snow.These sculptors show their works in two main areas."Sun Island" has huge show sculptures of people and animals."Ice and Snow World"has sculptures of buildings.At night,these buildings light up brightly-colored lights. Visitors can do a lot of other ,such as skiing and ice sliding.They can also go swimming in the icy waters of the Songhua River.

The sound from Miranda's alarm clock would not stop.Miranda reached over and stopped the noise ringing in her room. The action brought her a few minutes of peace and quietness.

On a usual day, Miranda jumped out of bed even before the alarm clock could ring. She did not mind getting up early. She loved morning because she could complete her two-mile run before most of her family members got up. She ran every morning so that she would realize her dream of being the best runner in the school. However, this morning was different. She would go and find out whether the pain in her leg was something that could be easily treated or would stop her from doing something she loved most: running with the school track team.

As the alarm clock rang out again, .She cut off the annoying(讨厌 的) noise and rose from her bed. She could hear the sound from the kitchen where her mother was making her favorite breakfast of pancakes and bacon. Her mother always made her favorites whenever Miranda was facing a problem or in a bad situation, but she'd never faced anything like this before.

Sighing(叹气) deeply in the quiet room, she tried to stand up. She could feel the pain in her right leg. It was serious but not unbearable. Surely, Miranda thought, it would not be as bad as she had imagined.

She shook her head to clear her thoughts and got ready to join her mother. As she walked into the kitchen, her mother gave her a big smile. Immediately, Miranda felt comforted. If nothing else, she at least knew one thing was certain. She was not alone in this and that would make all the difference, no matter what the day would bring.

①Everybody enjoys acts of kindness. But can you explain why? Some people think kindness is something out of love and care, while others believe it is just a tool that we use to become more popular. But research shows that being kind can activate(激活) an area of the brain called Striatum. Research also shows that kindness improves people's mood(情绪). But why and how does it happen? Here are a number of different ways.

④In another recent research, even children in their first year of secondary school know how being kind makes them feel happy. If one person is kind, he or she makes others in the group kind. It also lifts everyone's spirits. Imagine that you make cakes for the office and it makes others do it each month. Then you're getting cakes a lot more days than providing them.

⑤The story doesn't end here. Being kind may improve your mood, but research has also shown that if you're in a good mood, you can act much more kindly. This makes it a wonderful two-way relationship, doesn't it?

Kathy could still remember the night she had to leave her home in Hungary. It was the beginning of World War II and her family had to leave their country as soon as possible. She quickly filled a bag with a few pieces of clothing, her diary, and her treasure—a beautiful silk scarf.

Kathy and her best friend, Monica, had asked their parents to buy them matching scarves. They each would wear the scarves as a symbol of their friendship. Kathy had no idea that she was going to America that night and would not be returning.

Kathy kept that special silk scarf for many years. One day she decided to give it to her granddaughter, Eliza, to wear to her first job interview for good luck. Kathy was afraid that Eliza would lose the scarf, but the granddaughter promised, "Don't worry, Grandma, nothing's going to happen to your scarf. You'll see. It is going to bring both of us luck today." And with that, Eliza kissed her grandmother and left for the interview.

That afternoon Eliza left the interview, feeling sure that she had got the job. So she decided to celebrate by going to a restaurant. As she was sitting at her table, she felt someone looking at her. Sitting next to her was an old woman, who could not take her eyes away from her.

"I'm sorry, do I know you?" Eliza asked.

"I'm sorry, dear, but you make me think of someone I once knew," the old woman replied. "My best friend looked like you and used to wear a scarf just like the one you're wearing around your neck." Eliza listened carefully, with her eyes and mouth wide open. She had heard stories of her grandmother's best friend and knew the meaning of the scarf. Could this be Monica, her grandmother's childhood friend?

Eliza introduced herself and waited to hear the name of the other woman.

"My name's Monica, dear. I lived in Hungary as a child, but my family had to leave when I was fourteen years old. I've been living here in California ever since." said the old woman.

The passengers on the bus watched with sympathy(同情) as Susan made her way carefully up the steps. She paid for the drive and then, using her hands to1 the seats, sat in one of them.
