My Opinion on Using Social Media

Recently, I heard that Australia has passed the bill to forbid (禁止) teenagers under the age of 16 from using most social media. The country was worried about social media's negative impact (影响) on teenagers' lives and studies.

However, my idea is different from that of Australia. ① There are many advantages if teenagers ____ social media properly.

First of all, social media provides a platform (平台) for us teenagers to show ourselves and express our opinions. It can improve teenagers' confidence and communication skills. In a way, it can help us keep certain relationships.

What's more, students can keep up with current (目前的) events and learn new skills and get knowledge. ② This will enhance our overall abilities. On social media apps, I can learn how to cook delicious food and make travel plans. Using social media apps can help me live a happier life.

③ To sum up, I don't think it's a good idea to forbid teenagers from using social media. Instead, people should work together to help teenagers learn to use social media wisely. This way, it will become a helpful partner to teenagers.

Last year we had a new classmate. name is Danny. He was tall and handsome with dark brown eyes. Many classmates liked him.

Yang Jisheng, also called Yang Jiaoshan, was a famous man from Lintao in the Ming Dynasty. In 1550, he gave honest advice to the government, but it made some officials unhappy. So he was sent to work as a local official in Lintao. Though he faced this problem, he didn't give up. He did many good things for the people there.

First, Yang Jiaoshan cared a lot about education. At that time, many children had no schools to go to. He used his own money and even sold his horse and his wife's jewelry to build Chaoran Academy (超然书院). He also opened another school in Yuantong Temple. Soon, over 100 children came to study there. 

Second, he helped with the local economy. He made rules for the brown - cloth market to make sure people were treated fairly. He organized coal mining to help people get enough fuel. He also cleaned up old water channels so that farmers could water their fields easily. 

When Yang Jiaoshan had to leave Lintao, thousands of people walked with him for miles to say goodbye. Later, he was killed because he spoke out against a bad and powerful official. But the people in Lintao still remember him as a kind and brave man.
